Little Fire jumped onto Ye Lingtian's shoulder and hugged his neck tightly.
"How about we stop for a bit and see if we can use an array to shield ourselves? I have a feeling this place is launching a mental attack!"
"Their methods are nothing special!"
Ye Lingtian said coldly, raising his hand and waving it. A seven-colored light spread from his fingertips, instantly repelling the surrounding evil energy, and the whispering in his ear also weakened.
"Oh, that's much better!"
Little Fire breathed a sigh of relief and flicked its tail.
"Master, you are truly amazing! Those sounds were so unsettling, I almost thought I was going to be scared by them!"
Ye Lingtian ignored Xiao Huo's nagging and continued walking forward.
The space at the bottom of the well became wider and wider, and strange runes began to appear on the surrounding walls. The runes emitted a faint purple light, as if they were conveying some kind of information.
"Master, look at these runes! They seem to be part of some kind of summoning array!"
Little Fire jumped onto a rock and pointed at the wall with its paw.
"Do you think they're trying to summon some kind of giant monster?"
"Summoning array?"
Ye Lingtian's gaze sharpened slightly, and with a casual wave of his hand, a sword aura slashed towards the runes on the wall.
The runes emitted a piercing shriek, but instead of dissipating completely, they quickly reformed, becoming even more complex.
"These runes have been implanted with demonic intent and cannot be removed by ordinary means!"
Ye Lingtian said in a low voice, raised his hand, and a seven-colored light condensed between his fingers once again.
"What should we do then? Are we going to dismantle them one by one?"
Little Fire jumped to Ye Lingtian's side with a troubled look on its face, its tail sweeping back and forth on the ground.
"These runes look dangerous!"
"We don't need to dismantle them all, we just need to find their core!"
Ye Lingtian said calmly.
Looking around, he saw a black crystal core radiating a strong evil aura in the center of the stone platform. The crystal core was surrounded by complex runes, which were faintly connected to the patterns on the well wall, as if all the power at the bottom of the well was gathered here.
"Master, that black crystal core looks like something bad!"
Little Fire licked its lips, eager to try.
"How about I go up and try to melt it by burning it?"
"Need not!"
Ye Lingtian raised his hand to stop Xiao Huo, then stepped towards the stone platform.
As soon as they approached the stone platform, a jet-black beam of light rose from the crystal core, instantly enveloping the entire space.
A hideous face emerged from the pillar of light, its jaws opening and closing repeatedly, emitting a low, guttural laugh.
"Nine Heavens Emperor...you've finally come!"
The face spoke, its voice carrying an eerie echo.
"But do you think you can stop all of this?"
"Prevent?"
Ye Lingtian sneered.
"You think your little tricks can threaten me?"
"Hahaha, Nine Heavens Emperor, you're too confident!"
The face let out a burst of maniacal laughter.
"This crystal core is connected to the entire extraterrestrial demon network of consciousness. Even you cannot destroy it easily!"
"network?"
Ye Lingtian's tone remained calm.
"I'd like to see how long your so-called internet can last!"
He raised his hand and waved it, and the seven-colored longsword drew a sharp sword light, heading straight for the crystal core.
The sword light struck the crystal core instantly, but the crystal core did not shatter. Instead, it emitted a piercing shriek and then absorbed the power of the sword light, becoming even more dazzling.
"Master, this thing can actually absorb your sword energy!"
Little Fire jumped up, its tail standing straight up.
"This is going to be difficult!"
"It's just putting on a brave face!"
Ye Lingtian said coldly.
"Let's see how many times it can last!"
"Hahaha, Heavenly Emperor of the Nine Heavens, do you think this kind of brute force will work?"
The face spoke again, its voice full of sarcasm.
"The power of this crystal core is beyond your imagination!"
Ye Lingtian ignored it and swung his longsword down suddenly. A seven-colored sword light, even stronger than before, slashed directly at the crystal core.
This time, the crystal core finally couldn't withstand the pressure, and a crack appeared on its surface.
"How is that possible!"
The voice on that face betrayed panic.
"Impossible! How could you have gotten this crystal core...?"
"Nothing is impossible for me!"
Ye Lingtian said calmly, raising his longsword once more. This time, the sword light was even sharper than before, pointing directly at the core of the crystal.
"Master, it's doomed this time!"
Little Fire jumped up excitedly, its tail drawing a fiery arc in the air.
"Let's see how you chop it into pieces!"
The crystal core finally shattered under the impact of the sword light, turning into countless black fragments scattered on the ground.
The face let out a shrill scream and then vanished completely, while the runes at the bottom of the well also lost their light at the same time.

Little Fire jumped to the crystal core fragment and pawed at it a couple of times.
"Master, is this a complete solution now?"
"Only temporarily!"
Ye Lingtian looked to the side.
"The extraterrestrial demons won't give up so easily!"
"Master, what do we do next?"
Xiao Huo scratched his head and looked at Ye Lingtian with anticipation.
"Should we go after their lair? Or should we find a bigger target?"
"Let's get out of here!"
Ye Lingtian said calmly, then turned and walked towards the well.
