In the distance, a huge altar can be vaguely seen, with a jet-black crystal floating on it, emanating a strong evil aura.
"Master, something's not right about that crystal!"
Xiao Huo lowered his voice and spoke cautiously.
"Could this be their ultimate trump card?"
"Very likely!"
Ye Lingtian said coldly, his longsword trembling slightly.
"However, this time, I won't give them another chance!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly swung his sword, and a sharp, seven-colored sword light shot straight into the crystal, illuminating the entire void as if it were daytime.
The crystal let out a shrill scream, its surface began to crack rapidly, and the surrounding evil energy collapsed as a result.
"Master, is this finally over?"
Little Fire jumped onto Ye Lingtian's shoulder, its tail wagging excitedly.
"I knew it! When you take action, everything is absolutely foolproof!"
Ye Lingtian did not answer.
"This is just the beginning. Come on, let's continue!"
Time flies.
In a certain star system.
In a desolate desert in the northwest of the mortal realm, a small sect called the "Burning Sand Sect" is facing a desperate situation.
"Sect Leader! Those monsters are back! This time they brought even stronger ones and broke through the mountain's protective formation! We can't stop them at all!"
A disciple, his face covered in blood, stumbled into the main hall and shouted loudly.
Fen Chong, the leader of the Burning Sand Sect, was pale-faced. He gripped his whisk tightly and stared at the outside of the hall.
Hundreds and thousands of extraterrestrial demons ravaged the sect's territory.
The disciples of the Burning Sand Sect suffered heavy casualties, and their blood stained the steps in front of the sect's main hall.
"Sect Leader, what do we do?!"
An elder, supporting his broken arm, spoke with difficulty.
"Those monsters are completely unreasonable. They start killing and robbing right away, and the disciples are almost at their breaking point!"
Fen Chong's lips trembled, his heart filled with anxiety, but he gritted his teeth, stood up, and said coldly.
"Even if the Burning Sand Sect is weak, it cannot stand idly by and wait to be killed! Pass on my order: all disciples retreat to the Scripture Pavilion deep within the sect. We will set up our last line of defense there! If the enemy breaches it, then... then we will fight to the death to protect the sect!"
"Sect Leader, but... but those monsters are just too strong! We couldn't even hold them off for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn!"
The elder's voice was trembling.
"Enough with the nonsense! Go and inform the disciples! The Burning Sand Sect must not be extinguished in my hands!"
Fen Chong waved his hand fiercely, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
However, just as he finished speaking, a piercing sound suddenly came from the sky, and a pitch-black rift descended from the sky. Several obviously more powerful extraterrestrial demons slowly stepped out of the rift.
The leader of the demons resembled a human, but its limbs were covered in black scales and its eyes were blood-red.
Two enormous monsters followed behind him, shaped like tigers but with several tentacles. Black slime dripped from the ends of the tentacles, corroding the ground and creating deep pits the moment they hit the ground.
The humanoid demon looked around and revealed a sinister smile.
"This is what you call a cultivation sect? Ha... You're nothing but a bunch of insignificant ants. You dare to dream of resisting us extraterrestrial demons?"
Fen Chong gritted his teeth and spoke.
"You evil creatures, what is your purpose in slaughtering hundreds of my Burning Sand Sect disciples! Our Burning Sand Sect has no grudge against you, why are you so ruthless in your extermination!"
"No enmity or grudge?"
The demon chuckled softly and slowly took a few steps forward.
"Do you know that beneath this desert lies a spiritual vein, a node connecting to the depths of chaos?"
We're just occupying this space for a bit. As for you ants... well, you're all going to die sooner or later anyway, so we might as well get rid of you while we're at it!
"Spiritual veins?"
Fen Chong was shocked, clearly never having heard that such an important thing was hidden underground in his sect.
"Stop struggling. I advise you to kneel down and offer up the source of the spiritual vein. Perhaps I can spare your lives!"
The demon chuckled coldly, its gaze mocking.
Fen Chong was furious beyond measure.
"Don't even think about it! The disciples of the Burning Sand Sect swear to die rather than surrender!"
"We swear to never surrender!"
The demon shook its head.
"The tragedy of ants lies in the fact that even knowing they are overestimating their abilities, they always try to put up some futile resistance!"
As he spoke, he raised his palm, and a ball of black flame slowly appeared.
"Since you are unwilling to submit, then let's leave none of you alive!"
Suddenly, a vast and powerful pressure descended from afar, as if the world had fallen silent in an instant.
A cold, deep voice then rang out.
"You extraterrestrial demons are far too audacious, not even sparing these weak sects. Do you really think no one in this world can subdue you?"
The demon was taken aback and looked up into the distance, where he saw a man in a green robe slowly walking into the sect.
His face was cold and indifferent, as if he didn't care about anything on the field.
Beside him, a young Qilin was strolling leisurely, its eyes darting around, muttering something to itself.
"Master, look! These monsters are so weak, yet they dare to be so arrogant! Why don't I burn them to ashes?"
The man was Ye Lingtian.
He glanced at the little fire beside him and said indifferently.
"Don't rush, let's see what other tricks they can pull!"
The humanoid demon's face darkened.
"Who are you? This is the territory of extraterrestrial demons, how dare you meddle in our affairs!"
Ye Lingtian gave a cold laugh.
"The territory of extraterrestrial demons? When did this land become your territory? Today I'll see who gave you the audacity!"
"Arrogant!"
The demon roared and unleashed a burst of black flames that hurtled towards Ye Lingtian.
Ye Lingtian stood still, and with a wave of his hand, he easily extinguished the flames.
"You dare to make a fool of yourself in front of me with such paltry tricks?"
Little Fire then came up and flicked its tail.
"Master, let me do it! Watch me kill it with a single breath of Nine Yang Heavenly Fire!"
Ye Lingtian nodded.
"Hurry up, don't waste time!"
Little Fire immediately jumped out excitedly, opened its mouth and spat out a ball of blazing Nine Yang Heavenly Fire that shot straight towards the demon.
The demon instinctively dodged, but was still burned by the aftershocks of the Nine Yang Heavenly Fire. Large pieces of its black scales peeled off, revealing rotting flesh.
"Damn it! What kind of flame is that!?"
Little Fire laughed triumphantly.
"This is my Nine Yang Heavenly Flame! You don't even recognize it? Looks like you demons aren't all that great after all!"
The demon immediately realized that the man and the Qilin before him were not beings he could afford to provoke.
He immediately turned to run away, but heard Ye Lingtian speak coldly.
"Want to leave? Did I give you permission?"
The next moment, a seven-colored light flashed, and the demon's body was instantly cut in two, without even a chance to struggle.
The remaining demons were all stunned, and some even began to back away.
