Chapter 393 The Dragon Clan's Purpose?

Linde stood on the observatory, his robes billowing in the air currents brought by the dragon's might, but his face remained as calm as a frozen lake.

He met the enormous, amber-like eyes of the golden dragon Kael'thas and spoke slowly, his voice clearly piercing the solemnity between the sky and the earth:

"The wisdom and power of the dragons are known to all. It is an honor for Blackrock Territory to form an alliance with you all and jointly deal with the crisis threatening this world."

He showed neither excessive enthusiasm nor any fear, as if he were merely stating a given fact.

This extraordinary calmness caused a strange glint to flash in the eyes of several dragon elders.

“A wise choice, Lord Lind.”

Kel'Thalas's grand voice carried a hint of approval, but also a deeper solemnity, "But before that, according to ancient rituals, allies must be completely honest with each other. The Dragon's Rest is the foundation of the dragon race, and cannot tolerate the slightest mistake. Before you step into the Holy Land, we need to ascertain your 'essence' and your true 'intention' for this trip."

As soon as he finished speaking, "Maggos the Spellweaver" focused his dragon eyes, as calm as a still lake, on Lind once again.

This time, it was no longer a cursory examination, but a deeper and slower "reading," as if to imprint every line of his soul.

At the same time, the shimmering scales around "Astral Traveler" Donoz glowed slightly, and an invisible, intangible wave, carrying a sense of temporal and spatial separation, enveloped Lind, seemingly checking whether he had any "contamination" or "marking" from the astral plane or other dimensions.

"The Return of the Myriad Colors" Matraya tilted her dazzling head, and her iridescent halo reached out to Lind as if it were alive, filled with pure curiosity, as if she wanted to figure out the "working principle" of his crystalline body and light-dark core.

This is the Dragon Clan's inspection, and also a show of force.

They were demonstrating their power and resources, while also testing the depth and limits of this human lord.

Faced with this combined probing that could make even a demigod tremble in his soul, Linde simply stood quietly, even actively suppressing the light and dark force field that automatically flowed across his body, allowing those ancient and powerful sensory forces to sweep over his body and penetrate deep into his energy core.

He was not unprepared.

Deep within his consciousness, the [Deconstruction Halo] was operating in reverse at an unprecedented, almost "overclocked" pace!

Instead of resisting the dragons' probing, he used the perception that these ancient dragons had extended to him, which contained their own power characteristics and long life marks, as a sophisticated eavesdropping device to analyze the source of this information!

When Magosra's vast spiritual power, as boundless as the river of history, swept over him, the [Deconstruction Aura] captured fragments of ancient memories about the changes in the magic network, as well as a trace of... a deep sense of helplessness towards a certain "constraint".

As Donoz's spacetime perception swept over, the [Deconstruction Halo] analysis revealed that his power carried an extreme concern for the stability of the "boundary," and even a hint of... barely perceptible... vigilance against unknown existences beyond the "boundary."

The moment Matraya's iridescent senses touched the core of his crystalline remains, the [Deconstruction Aura] keenly detected an extremely faint emotional fluctuation, almost obscured by her curiosity... It wasn't malicious, but more like a... verification?

It was as if they were confirming whether he met some ancient "prophecy" or "condition".

These fragments of information, like broken pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, were rapidly captured, analyzed, and categorized by the [Deconstruction Halo]. In Linde's icy heart, a vague outline of the dragons' true intentions was rapidly taking shape.

They do need help to awaken the Guardians to fight against the "Weave of Fallen Gods," but they also seem to be searching for something, or rather, verifying something.

The slumber of Amatherak, the "Rock of Eternity," is probably not a simple eternal sleep; there must be a hidden story behind it.

The investigation lasted for about fifteen minutes.

The dragon elders slowly withdrew their power and exchanged silent glances with each other once again.

Kel'Thalas finally spoke, his tone seemingly more gentle than before:

"Your essence... is quite peculiar, Lord Lind. Light and shadow have achieved a balance within you that we have never seen before. Your soul is resilient, your will as strong as steel, and you have not been corrupted by anything external. The Dragon Council recognizes your qualifications as an ally."

His massive dragon head bowed slightly as a sign of formal acceptance:

"Then, please follow us. The road to the Dragon's Rest Holy Land is unknown to outsiders."

Kael'thas was the first to turn around, his enormous dragon wings unfurling. Instead of flapping violently, they seemed to stir up space itself, opening a massive portal behind him that shimmered with a watery sheen and displayed the colors of a magnificent starry sky.

The other elders followed suit, some spreading their wings, others chanting softly, maintaining the stable and magnificent passageway.

"My lord!" Aster's voice, filled with worry, came through the magic network.

“It’s alright,” Linde replied calmly. “Proceed according to plan and stabilize the territory. I’ll be right back.”

Without the slightest hesitation, he stepped out of the observatory, his figure transforming into a streak of light, shooting straight into the star portal.

A strong sense of spatial shift washed over him, but for Lind, who was already used to traversing shadowy abysses and dimensional rifts, it was nothing more than a normal jolt.

After a brief period of dizziness, he found himself in a world completely beyond his imagination.

This is not an ordinary mountain or cave.

There was no sky above, but a slowly rotating "dome" made up of countless crystals emitting a soft white light. These crystals were like living stars, pulsating with pure energy.

Beneath my feet lay a smooth, mirror-like, milky-white "earth" of unknown composition, stretching to the horizon.

The air was filled with an extremely dense magical energy, far purer than that of the outside world, yet strangely carrying a slumbering tranquility.

In the distance, countless enormous figures can be seen prostrate on the ground, like a continuous mountain range—these are slumbering dragons, their long, slow breaths forming the eternal background music of this sacred land.

Enormous, shimmering runes and chains, like veins, appear and disappear on the earth and in the air, maintaining the balance and isolation of this place.

This is the Dragon's Resting Place, the last refuge of the dragon race, and also the source of their power and their final resting place.

The figures of several elders, including Kel'Thuzad, also appeared around Lind. Their size seemed to be somewhat restricted here, no longer as overwhelming as it was outside, but their majesty remained.

"Welcome to the Dragon's Rest Sanctuary, Lord Lind."

Kel'Thalas's voice sounded much lower here, as if afraid of disturbing his eternal slumber.

“Please follow me. His Majesty Amarselak slumbers in the ‘Rock of Eternity’ at the heart of the Holy Land.”
