Chapter 106 The Death of the Viscount

He then unleashed a torrent of evil power, sending Leonis flying.

Just then, the opportunity that Linde had been waiting for arrived!

He channeled the surging mental energy in his mind toward Swift's head.

With the release of the magic, Lind successfully located the location of Swift's mental extension, which was precisely where the mind's weakness lay!

"Now!" Lind's mental cone pierced Swift's weak point, plunging deep into his mind!

The instant Swift was struck by Lind's mental cone, she seemed to be provoked and retaliated with a counterattack, a limb wielding a huge sword slashing down towards Lind's direction.

Linde activated the aura to its minimum, barely managing to dodge the powerful blow with a desperate reaction.

Lind rolled to the side, ready to face the next attack.

But after that counterattack, Swift's body collapsed and remained motionless.

Although his limbs were still twisting erratically, they had lost their aggressiveness.

His main body, which was not seriously injured, lay there, leaving his core, which had almost been struck by Leonis, exposed so nakedly.

Linde tried to sense Swift's mental presence with his mental power, but in the end he only found some remaining fragments of his mind near his head.

It belongs to the kind of thing that can't be pieced back together; its spirit has been completely shattered.

"I thought someone stronger like Swift would have a relatively complete, fragmented spiritual body left, but it turns out that, like the one with the scepter before, it's scattered too much."

Linde slowly walked to Viscount Swift's side and pulled out his exposed core.

Although it was somewhat nauseating, this was the first time I had a complete encounter with the core of the Dedication Society.

Looking at the core in his hand, which looked like both a living thing and a stone, Linde showed no mercy and crushed it with his own hands.

All that could be heard from the core was a tremendous wail, the crying of an infant and the gasping of a dying person.

Then, it shattered into pieces and fell to the ground.

"nailed it."

Just when Linde thought he had it all figured out...

With a ding, the system in Linde's mind suddenly reacted.

[Unknown source detected]

"What? What happened?"

Lind was shocked; the last time he had seen something like this was when the Oracle of Magic descended!

The system did not stop despite Lind's surprise.

[A special... anomaly... has been detected]

[warn! ]

[Danger! ]

[Halo emergency activated!]

"ah?"

Before Linde could react, everything around him vanished.

"Leonis? Lillen?"

Linde's call echoed in the void, without even a faint reverberation.

Linde felt that his body had completely disappeared at this moment. Although he could see that his body could move with his naked eye, he could not feel anything at all.

Then, all of Linde's halos were activated at that moment.

The activation halo, the bright halo, and the deconstruction halo all illuminate at the same moment, completely brightening the darkness surrounding Linde.

One after another, deep, dark eyes lit up around Linde, constantly being blinded by the power of the halo, shedding tears of blood.

These malicious eyes remained fixed on Lind, while some muffled whispers echoed in their ears.

Lind couldn't understand the whispers, but he could sense the malice they carried.

"Damn it, you still hold a grudge against me, huh?"

Linde roughly guessed that the current situation was likely due to the evil god of the Dedication Society casting his gaze upon them.

I suspect I'm going to be targeted by these things.

Seeing that these eyes were being blinded by the halo, they were unwilling to leave and planned to keep Lind in this place forever.

"An evil god, is it? Good thing you've come. It'll be perfect for me to test my skills."

Linde pulled out the two pieces of Godslayer Metal he had obtained earlier from his mage sleeve and grinned wickedly.

"Although it hurts a little, we still have to use it."

Linde left behind a piece of god-slaying metal, and used the deconstruction halo to break the other piece into powder, then forcefully hurled it at the surrounding eyes.

The god-slaying metal powder rained down like black rain, shattering the deep, dark eyes wherever it touched, emitting agonizing screams. The muffled whispers instantly turned into furious roars, and a gigantic figure seemed to surge within the darkness.

Taking advantage of the moment, Linde sculpted the remaining god-slaying metal into a bladed cone, gripping it tightly in his hand. The aura around him shone brightly, attempting to dispel the increasingly dense darkness around him.

Suddenly, a huge, pale limb emerged from the darkness and lunged at Lind. Lind dodged to the side, simultaneously swinging his dagger and slashing a deep wound into the tentacle, from which black liquid splattered.

However, more pale limbs surged in from all directions, surrounding Lind completely. Lind gritted his teeth, activated his Aura of Activation, and instantly boosted his physical strength to its limit.

He brandished his dagger and engaged in a fierce back-and-forth battle with the tentacles.

Soon, after Linde severed several limbs, the limbs gradually receded.

Just when Linde thought the other party had completely retreated, a deep rumble came from the darkness, as if an evil god was gathering power to launch an even more powerful attack.

The surrounding darkness coalesced into a massive vortex, emanating a powerful suction force that threatened to engulf Lind.

Linde activated his aura with all his might, trying to resist the suction force, but his body was still uncontrollably pulled slowly towards the vortex.

"Damn it, there's more?"

Seeing that the suction force was getting stronger, Linde threw out all the stockpiled crystal fragments that the mage had prepared in advance from his sleeve.

Then, with a combination of ignition and counterspell, all the crystal fragments were detonated.

The violent magical explosion triggered a chain reaction; the powerful suction disappeared, replaced by a massive explosion and impact.

Magic surged like a tide, mixed with specks of god-slaying metal powder, utterly shattering the surrounding darkness.

A huge, horrific scream filled Lind's mind. Lind felt a wave of dizziness and disorientation before he returned to the underground cave.

"grown ups!"

Baron Lind!

The familiar voice rang out, and Lind finally felt his body again. It felt so good.

Leonis and Lillence stood anxiously around him.

"What happened? You suddenly disappeared, and there were terrifying fluctuations of power around us."

Leonis asked eagerly.

Lind shook his head, trying to clear his mind.

"It's the evil god of the dedication society. He has his eye on me and just pulled me into a strange space."

He was panting heavily when he briefly recounted what had just happened.

Both of them stared at Lind in disbelief.

Leonis frantically searched Lind's body, desperately hoping that the person before her had not been corrupted or harmed by the evil god.

"Linde, are you hurt anywhere? Do you feel anything wrong?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine. The Holy Spirit has protected me."

Lind comforted Leonis by telling a small lie.

Gripping the still-warm Godslayer metal dagger tightly in his hand, Lind had obtained what he wanted.

"However, it didn't gain any advantage either."

Linde looked at the increasingly deep water and said:

"Let's get out of here quickly, we can't stay any longer."

"It won't be long before this place completely collapses!"

Before the words were even finished, the entire cave began to shake violently, clearly unable to withstand the fierce scouring of the river.

"Walk!"
