"Roar roar roar"
Old Della chuckled.
"Don't forget my wine, you promised, a whole barrel!"
Linde wrapped up the weapon and smiled:
"Don't worry, old Dela, I'll have someone bring the wine over later. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."
"Okay, just don't forget."
Old Dela wasn't in a hurry, so he simply took a nap in the shop.
Linde strapped the weapon to his horse and galloped quickly toward the castle, unable to contain his excitement at having just acquired a new weapon.
Upon arriving at the castle, Lind summoned his servants and instructed them to fetch a case of wine from the storeroom and deliver it to Old Della's workshop. He then hurried off to the training grounds.
The barracks and training grounds at Truk Fort were built together to facilitate soldier training.
The training ground was large, covered with sand and gravel. Linde arrived just as the soldiers finished their morning exercises, and a large number of the strong young men who had just finished training were sitting on the ground resting.
Linde spotted a muscular figure in the crowd from afar. The figure had neatly cut blond hair and was radiating heat from his recent workout, making him look very energetic.
That man was Aster, the knight who had rescued Lind.
He visited Linde many times while he was bedridden recovering from his injury, probably because he felt some guilt.
Linde wasn't actually very familiar with him before. Astaire had been fighting alongside the Earl and hadn't had much interaction with him. He only knew that Astaire was an excellent knight who was loyal to the Earl's family.
After we developed a life-or-death bond, we became much closer.
Astaire, with his sharp eyes, spotted Lind in his blue robes at a glance and quickly ran over to help Lind lead his horse.
"Young Master Linde, did you come here to test out your new weapon?"
After recovering from his injury, Linde often wandered around here, trying out various weapons and equipment to satisfy his cravings.
During that time, many soldiers recognized him, and rumors circulated among them that the second young master of the Earl's family had a particular fondness for all sorts of weapons and equipment. This even reached the Earl's ears, which made the Earl extremely happy, and he insisted on gifting him a set of enchanted plate armor.
The plate armor was naturally accepted. After wearing it once, it only had two attributes: hardness and lightness. You know what? Wearing the heavy plate armor felt like wearing only a leather armor, and it made movement very agile.
"hey-hey."
Lin De smiled and patted the large bag on Tong Guang's back.
"Old Dela has finished making the weapons we ordered before. I just got them and wanted to come here to test their power."
The two chatted as they arrived at the shooting range.
There were many archers training here, and when they saw Lind and Aster arrive, they all put down their weapons and ran over to watch.
Lind dismounted and took the weapon pouch from the horse's back.
Everyone was discussing what kind of new weapon Young Master Lin De had acquired this time.
Linde knew that the throwing weapons in this world were still relatively primitive, mostly short-headed javelins and heavy darts, which had very limited destructive power. They were fine against wooden shields and chainmail, but not so effective against plate armor and metal shields.
So this time, he specially drew up the blueprints himself and asked Old Dera to forge these powerful javelins, which are the Aserai javelins in Mount & Blade II, commonly known as Aserai missiles.
This javelin has a long, double-edged, metal-cast spearhead with terrifying armor-piercing power. In special circumstances, it can also be used as a short-handled double-edged spear in the forehand. It is a very powerful weapon for both close combat and ranged combat.
Not to mention that it now has Armor Penetration, Windbreaker, and Resilience enchantments, so you can imagine how powerful it is.
Linde placed the bag on the table, lifted the cloth, and saw eight gleaming blades lying quietly inside, with a glint of silver flashing on them from time to time.
The surrounding soldiers gasped and began to whisper among themselves.
"What kind of weapon is this?"
"A short spear? But the spearhead is too long..."
"It's too short to be a spear."
At this moment, Astaire recovered from his surprise and asked:
"My lord, what is this...?"
Linde smiled knowingly and explained, "This is a javelin, used in the same way as a spear."
Then, Linde brought the javelins to the shooting range and gave the order:
"Someone, bring over a set of chainmail and plate armor, and two shields as well."
The soldiers quickly brought the equipment over and hurriedly attached it to the target.
Once everyone had left, Lind pulled out an Aserai javelin, weighed it in his hand, and tested its weight.
"It's alright, let's test its power with the chainmail first."
He then threw the spear, and the silver spear disappeared in a flash without making a sound.
When it was found again, the javelin was found embedded in the ground behind the target, and a hole about three fingers wide was left in the chainmail target.
The soldiers were speechless with astonishment at the sight. They had seen powerful magic before, but they had never heard of such a silent yet incredibly powerful weapon.
"Next up is plate armor."
Linde immediately drew a second javelin, giving everyone no time to catch their breath.
With a single throw, a flash of silver light appeared, and a large hole, identical to the one on the target, appeared on the plate armor.
Next came the shields, wooden shields and iron shields.
The wooden shield was pierced to pieces, while the iron shield suffered the same fate as the previous iron armor, leaving a huge hole.
Astaire stepped forward, picked up a javelin, and examined it closely. The soldiers looked at each other, not daring to utter a sound.
The young knight approached the target again, comparing his javelin to the hole in it. Then he jogged over to Lind with the javelin in hand.
He grabbed Linde's hand and said excitedly:
"Sir, did you design this incredibly powerful weapon?"
Linde nodded and said:
"It's a pity that this thing is an enchanted weapon, so it probably can't be mass-produced."
It was visible to the naked eye that Aster's enthusiastic gaze gradually dimmed.
Actually, these javelins can be mass-produced; the key is to have a craftsman who knows how to enchant them.
This can't be blamed on Linde; he wanted to keep it a secret and equip his army with it in large quantities later. Even if someone else learned it, it wouldn't be of much use. The weapon's true power lay in its use by cavalry on horseback.
Cavalry equipped with this weapon, utilizing their high mobility and carrying capacity, could pose a significant threat to heavily armored infantry formations.
According to Linde, wars in this world are currently dominated by orthodox soldiers, while emerging magical techniques are limited to logistics and equipment enchanting, though they are developing rapidly and showing signs of rising.
If a well-trained legion of mages were to cast spells together, the effect would be quite significant.
But when it comes to the cost... it's a bit terrifying.
After dismissing the soldiers who had gathered to watch the spectacle, Linde returned to his bedroom with his weapons and placed them on a cabinet.
He then headed towards the main dining room, where the old count had arranged a banquet for him at noon and required his attendance.
"I wonder what the old count is up to."
As he spoke, Linde arrived at the entrance of the banquet hall and heard many unfamiliar sounds coming from inside. Linde became increasingly curious.
