The battle between humans and monsters is about to begin.
Leading the monsters' ranks was a large group of goblins wielding all sorts of weapons.
This creature is short in stature but extremely agile; if encountered in a confined space, it can indeed take considerable effort to kill it.
However, in this open space, especially when facing spearmen who had already formed a battle formation, they were somewhat outmatched.
Soon, a large number of goblins died screaming as they were pierced by the spears. A very few lucky ones dodged the sharp spears and charged towards the soldiers, only to be beheaded with an axe.
Under the spearmen's efficient slaughter, which was like mowing grass, a large number of goblins soon fell into pools of blood.
The goblins' morale quickly plummeted, and some began to drop their weapons and flee in disarray.
But what awaited them was the troll's club. As the club, as thick as a tree trunk, crashed down (this was the tree trunk), the poor goblins burst like balloons and splattered on the ground.
These terrifying creatures, each nearly three meters tall, wielded enormous logs. The troll leader, who was already taller than the other trolls, wore leather armor made of some unknown leather, making him appear even more robust.
Amidst the trolls' roars, the terrified goblins had no choice but to turn and charge at the humans' spears.
"Trollish language (Charge, or die!)"
The lead troll wielded his club, driving the remaining goblins toward the humans. He then summoned the eight trolls and charged toward the humans.
Seeing the trolls charging, Aster led his bronze warriors into the battle.
The bronze warrior at the front immediately threw his throwing axe at the troll charging ahead.
The spinning axe, carrying immense potential energy, struck the troll's body, embedding itself deeply, yet causing no real damage to the thick-skinned troll.
Trolls, a race with thick hides, have always had extremely high resistance to slashing and blunt force. The only type of damage that poses a significant threat to them is piercing damage.
Fortunately, Linde had prepared sturdy spears for the bronze warriors in advance, specifically to deal with tough and clumsy creatures like trolls.
Back in the primitive era when humans were still eating raw meat and drinking blood, they used simple spears to put the huge, thick-skinned mammoths on their dinner table.
The terrifying upright ape was truly horrifying.
The sharp spear pierced deep into the troll's thick flesh, but the raging troll did not stop.
They brandished thick logs nearly a meter in diameter, swinging them wildly, attempting to smash the soldiers who had angered them into a bloody pulp.
But these bronze warriors, enhanced by alchemical potions, are not easily defeated by the barbarians.
Although the bronze warriors were all clad in heavy armor, they were exceptionally agile, easily dodging the giant wooden clubs wielded by the trolls.
Under the siege of several bronze warriors, the trolls were quickly battered and bruised, and their leaders were also caught in a fierce battle.
"Troll language~ (Damn humans! This stone fortress is mine! You won't be able to take it away!)"
The troll leader, only a silver-ranked warrior, was clearly no match for the gold-ranked warrior Astaire. In just a few rounds, he was covered in deep, bone-revealing wounds, and even the huge wooden club in his hand was cut in half by Astaire.
In fact, Astaire was also deeply surprised. Under normal circumstances, he would have already beheaded this silver-level troll. If it weren't for the peculiar leather armor worn by the troll leader, which blocked several potentially fatal blows for him, he would have killed the troll long ago.
Lind, who was watching from a distance, also noticed the troll's peculiar equipment and became very curious. He thought to himself that he would definitely take a good look at where this peculiar equipment came from after the fight.
As time passed, the battle gradually subsided. The low-level goblins had already been slaughtered, and many goblins even tried to escape by jumping into the river, but were still caught up by the soldiers and stabbed to death with a single spear thrust.
The trolls were all killed, and of the eight trolls, only the leader was left struggling to hold on, but he wouldn't last much longer.
At this moment, his legs had been slashed by Astaire and he was unable to move. He could only sit on the ground, frantically swinging his club, trying to stop Astaire from getting closer.
But this was ultimately futile.
With a scream, the troll leader's massive head shot into the sky and crashed heavily to the ground, announcing humanity's victory.
Linde scanned the battlefield and found that the soldiers were in good condition. Except for a few unlucky ones who were hit by things thrown by goblins and suffered minor injuries, the rest were basically fine.
Aside from being somewhat exhausted, none of the bronze warriors were injured. After all, compared to these mere bronze-level trolls, the gold-level cult leader they had encountered earlier was the one who could truly inflict heavy casualties on the bronze warriors.
Five or six bronze warriors can easily take on a bronze-level troll.
The easy annihilation battle ended before dusk. Lind left his guards outside to clean up the battlefield while he took 20 bronze warriors with spare strength into the castle to scout the situation.
Upon entering the castle, a foul stench lingered in the air from time to time; these trolls and goblins were incapable of being hygienic.
The ubiquitous excrement and food scraps made Linde and the other bronze warriors frown; this was almost bordering on biological weapons.
"Damn it, this castle is probably not going to be built. I thought it would save us the trouble of building a castle, but now I realize I was dreaming."
Linde estimated that when the time came, the fortress would be dismantled, and the stones would be used to build a stone bridge over the river on the other side. Any extra stones would be used to reinforce the existing stone bridge or to build foundations for civilian houses.
Feeling depressed, Linde entered one of the halls, which used to be a conference hall and was quite large.
The conference hall is now filled with junk collected by trolls and goblins.
There were all sorts of metal armor plates, leather, cloth, and pots and pans scraped from houses outside.
Just as Linde was about to order his men to clean up the area, several loud noises suddenly came from the pile of debris.
From the filthy pile of debris, several troll cubs crawled out, looking at Lind and his group with great nervousness.
"No wonder these trolls fought to the death, now I understand..."
At this moment, Aster hurriedly said, "My lord, you can't raise these troll cubs! They eat and poop so much and they're so disobedient..."
Astaire quietly told Lind an anecdote, leaving Lind speechless. He didn't know where Astaire had heard the anecdote from, but it was said that a nobleman had kept these trolls as pets, intending to use them as weapons of war, but in the end, he was devoured by the trolls and died in their mouths.
"Don't worry, I would never raise such a disgusting thing."
With a swift movement, Lind beheaded a troll cub in front of him.
The other troll cubs around them revealed their ferocity and charged towards the group.
As a result, he didn't even run two steps before lying flat on the ground, his small head flying very high.
