Chapter 46 Drinks

Linde carried the snacks into the girl's cottage, while Alice stood to the side, blushing and looking down, without saying a word.

Linde looked around and found that the whole room was filled with strange things, most of which were magical items that Linde had never seen before.

A clock shaped like a bird, a peculiar jar with a mermaid pattern, and a butterfly-shaped stand.

Everything was quite novel.

After looking around, Lin Decai finally spoke, saying:

"Did I disturb your rest? You seem to be still resting."

Alice hurriedly tidied her still somewhat messy hair and said in a flustered manner:

"No...no."

Then Lin De turned his gaze to Alice, only to find that Alice was dressed completely differently from her usual dignified and elegant self, wearing only a thin nightgown.

It was a silk nightgown, the main color of which was light blue with white lace, perfectly revealing the girl's youthful innocence. The wrinkles on the nightgown from sleeping had not yet been smoothed out, showing that Alice had just gotten up.

After admiring it from top to bottom, Lind commented:

"Hmm, your pajamas have good taste; they suit you very well."

Alice then realized that she had been so busy tidying up the house that she had forgotten to tidy herself up.

In an instant, her little hands gripped the hem of her pajamas tightly, and her already rosy face turned even redder.

After her mind raced, Alice instantly summoned a burst of magic and, like a gentle breeze, darted up to the second floor.

Lind was left standing there, stunned.

A short while later, the Alice that Lind knew slowly walked down from upstairs.

Although her cheeks were still rosy at this moment.

Linde, intending to break the awkward silence, held up the pastry in his hand and said:

"I came to see you today, bringing you your favorite snacks, and also to see if my genius mage has come up with anything interesting."

Alice walked over, took the pastries from Lind's hand, and then a burst of magical energy emanated from her.

The pastries in the food box flew out one by one, hovering in the air before landing on the butterfly-shaped shelf.

So it turns out that shelf was for holding snacks?

Lind was internally ranting when he saw Alice manipulate magic to concoct two "drinks" from some strange jars. Alice handed one of the drinks to Lind.

Linde looked at the clear liquid in the glass, which was dotted with specks of liquid, and asked suspiciously:

"What's this?"

"This is a drink I personally mixed. You'll know once you drink it."

Linde looked at Alice, who was drinking from her cup, and without thinking too much, picked up the cup and took a big gulp.

The moment it entered his mouth, Lind regretted it. A storm-like sensation erupted between his teeth, followed by a lightning-like stimulation on his tongue.

Linde hurriedly swallowed it, feeling as if he had swallowed a raging whirlwind at sea, and a burst of gas rushed into his nasal cavity.

"Cough...hiccup"

Lind let out a muffled burp.

A familiar feeling welled up inside me.

"What... what is this?"

Alice, who was standing to the side, observed Lind's reaction. She thought that Lind would sip the unknown drink slowly, but Lind just gulped it down without a care.

Alice was about to speak up to warn him, because the drink she had mixed herself was quite strong and drinking it in big gulps would be very uncomfortable, but she saw that Lind not only did not feel uncomfortable, but also let out a long sigh and looked at the drink in his hand with the eyes of an old friend.

"Are you... alright? You shouldn't drink this kind of beverage in big gulps..."

At this moment, Lind suddenly grabbed Alice's hand excitedly and said:

"Alice! You're a genius! Did you make this drink? How did you make it?"

"Yes...yes?"

Alice was taken aback by this sudden turn of events, and Lind's warm, large hand gripped hers tightly, slowing her down a beat in the process.

Linde, having recovered his composure, noticed Alice's unease and quickly released her, saying:

"I'm sorry, I got too excited because your drink was so delicious."

Linde didn't know what to say for a moment, so he could only make up an excuse to get by.

This tastes so much like Coca-Cola! It tastes exactly like Coca-Cola, even better!

Before drinking this beverage, Lind had never imagined that he could drink cola in this strange world. This was truly a wonderful surprise.

"Really...really?"

Alice was delighted to hear that Lind actually enjoyed her "weird-tasting drink" and immediately revealed the entire recipe for "Cola".

"Storm crystallizing powder? And cyclone solvent?"

Neither of these two things seems like something you should add to a drink! Although it does taste really good.

Alice, standing to the side, was starting to feel frustrated. She had shared this drink with her classmates at the magic academy before, but they all gave it negative reviews.

He even earned a nickname for this:

"A genius-level master of culinary disasters"

After listening to Alice's account, Lind said indignantly:

"That's because they have no taste. Listen to me, add some ice and sugar, chill it, and it'll be incredibly delicious!"

Alice was skeptical, but she cast a spell, adding ice cubes to both of their glasses and then taking some honey from the jars behind her and adding it in.

"Is this okay?"

"Yes, yes."

Linde stirred the "cola" and drank it all in one gulp.

I burped.

"Cool!"

Seeing how much Lind liked it, Alice got him a larger cup and filled it to the brim again.

"If you want more, come back next time and I'll make it for you."

Linde nodded quickly and took the cup. Only then did he remember why he had come today, and he said:

"Oh right, how's the stuff we brought back from the ruins? Did you find anything?"

Alice, leaning against the soft cushion, used magic to pick up a pastry, took a bite, and smiled as she said:

"You'll see when you get to the back; I've been working on this for a long time."

He glanced at the curtain behind him and gestured for Linde to go in and take a look.

Linde, holding a cup, lifted the curtain and went inside.

What came into view was a place that resembled a workshop, with disassembled parts of all sizes scattered everywhere.

The relic mech that had been cleaved in two by Aster's sword was lying in the middle, now completely dismantled by the girl.

Alice didn't touch the core of the one in the middle at all.

Linde stepped forward to examine it closely. The strange polygonal metal shell was covered with peculiar and complex patterns, while its half-exposed interior was empty, as if something was missing.

At that moment, Alice walked in and said:

"After we got them back, the cores of both of these relic mechs stopped working. I dismantled the broken one; it looks like it's out of power."

Alice pointed to the empty part in the core and continued:

"But its driving force is not the liquid magic in that tank, but something else."
