Chapter 128 Fox Lord

The young fox master walked lightly to the front of the stage and plopped down in the large chair that was completely disproportionate to his size.

This fox lord is very different from other fox-human royalty; he has three tails, making him extremely unique.

His two little legs dangled in the air, but his little head was held high with an air of seriousness, and his childish voice carried an undeniable authority:

"Let's get started, I've come all this way after all this trouble."

"Karim, you go first."

The young fox master showed no sign of stage fright, speaking calmly and unhurriedly, as if this majesty was truly innate.

Karim, the leader of the pro-war faction who had just taken his seat, rose from his still-warm chair and said:

"Ahem! I'm sure everyone is aware of what has happened recently. Our bloodline met with misfortune in a foreign land and was tragically killed by humans."

A buzz of discussion immediately broke out below.

"It's true? I thought it was just an excuse..."

"By the way, who brought this message back? If I were human, would I have allowed it to get out?"

"Just watch, I reckon it's just some pro-war people making excuses."

"Shh... keep your voice down..."

Clap clap, two clapping sounds rang out.

"Alright, everyone quiet down. Tamalyn is the one who received this news, so she can speak."

Suddenly, a fox-woman rose from a secluded corner; it was none other than Miss Tamalyn Adane, who had returned to Silvermane City.

“My lord, this matter is beyond doubt. The murdered Miss Nazra was from a region close to mine, and we had met once before.”

"At the time of the incident, I was gathering intelligence in the Fortified City when my human subordinates secretly informed me of something."

"That means someone was spying on the goods Miss Nazla was carrying and wanted to secretly murder her. I wanted to warn her, but it was too late."

"By the time my men arrived there, Miss Nazra was already..."

As she spoke, Tamalin began to sob, and it was impossible to tell that she was faking it.

At this moment, Karim stepped forward, took over the conversation, and said indignantly:

"Damn humans, they have treated our bloodline so cruelly, they are utterly despicable!"

As emotions were stirred, and with the people Karim had specially arranged, the atmosphere at the scene became very intense.

"Your Majesty, please..."

"Wait!"

Hussein, who was standing to the side, stroked his beard, stood up, and said:

"Your Majesty, we must not rush into this matter. It is difficult to determine whether it was done by humans based solely on Miss Tamalin's account."

"Perhaps it was a trap deliberately set by other forces to provoke conflict between our race and humans."

Hussein then deliberately glared at Karim.

"Moreover, if we rashly start a war with humans, our race may not gain any advantage. Human technology and weapons should not be underestimated. We should first send reliable people to investigate the truth of the matter before making a decision."

Hussein said calmly.

Karim's expression changed, and he quickly retorted:

"Hussein, don't boost the morale of others and diminish your own. Miss Tamalyn spoke so frankly, and everyone here has confirmed it through their own channels. How could it be false?"

Our bloodline cannot have been sacrificed in vain; humanity must be taught a lesson!

Karim had fought hard to secure this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity among the many pro-war factions, and it was not impossible for him to even gain the Fox Lord's favor.

He was already certain in his heart that this time, he would make these cowardly peacemakers bleed a good beating.

Looking at the situation before him, Hussein thought it was time to act; if things continued unchecked, the situation might spiral out of control.

So he respectfully said to the fox lord:

"Your Majesty, there is more to this matter than meets the eye."

The fox lord, who had initially intended to deliver the verdict quickly, became intrigued again upon seeing Hussein's unwavering resolve and said:

"Go ahead and tell me."

Hussein cleared his throat and shouted in a very loud voice:

"The true story should be told by those who experienced it firsthand."

"Please welcome Miss Nazla."

"What!?"

The nobles below all wore expressions of disbelief, and Karim even lost his composure and shouted:

"Impossible! This is impossible!"

Unfortunately, that's just how it is. Nazla walked out from backstage, slowly took off her hood, and revealed her true face.

Nazra slowly walked to the front of the stage, her gaze sweeping over the crowd before finally landing on Karim, whose face was ashen.

"Karim, you and Tamalin are so ruthless in trying to start a war."

Nazla said coldly:

"I was indeed assassinated that day... but it was by fox clan assassins you sent. They even used this in order to kill me completely!"

Nazla slammed the crossbow bolts she had obtained afterward onto the table.

"Look everyone, they even used the Bone Ember Poison specifically to kill me!"

Upon hearing this, everyone's expression changed drastically, and two guards appeared beside the Fox Lord at some unknown time.

Any orc with a brain knows that this is a forbidden item that orcs must never touch.

"It really is the Bone Ash... Tamarin! What on earth is going on!?"

Karim was furious about this. That Tamalin was utterly useless and only brought trouble upon herself!

This immediately put these pro-war faction members in a very unfavorable situation.

Tamalyn's legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground, crying out, "Karim made me do this! He said that if we start a war, we, the pro-war faction, can seize power..."

Karim gritted his teeth and glared fiercely at Tamalin:

"Shut up! What nonsense are you spouting now!"

Karim turned to look at the Fox Lord and knelt down:

"Your Majesty, I never conspired with her. It was all her and those humans who came up with these terrible ideas..."

The Fox Lord sat in a large chair, his youthful face filled with seriousness. He looked at Karim and the slumped-over Tamalin, and snorted coldly:

"Hmph, you still dare to argue even at this point."

At this moment, Hussein stepped forward, cupped his hands, and said:

“Your Majesty, Karim and Tamalin deliberately provoked conflict, attempting to drag our people into an unnecessary war. Such crimes are unforgivable.”

The Fox Lord nodded and waved his hand, signaling the guards to seize Karim and Tamalin. Karim struggled and shouted:

"Your Majesty, this is a frame-up! I am loyal to my clan!"

But his voice was quickly drowned out by the actions of the guards.

Hussein sneered from the side:

This time, Karim will be crippled, if not killed, but the pro-war faction won't fall so easily... There will definitely be other factions to fill the gap, but this time we can rest assured.

To put it bluntly, this matter could be a big deal or a small deal, entirely up to the Fox Lord's whim.

The crucial part is yet to come...

Hussein looked at Nazira and gestured to her with his eyes.

At this moment, Nazla came before the Fox Lord and said:

"Your Majesty, there is one more thing."

At this moment, Zahira, still somewhat angry, said with slight dissatisfaction:

"Is there anything else? Tell me quickly, I'm a little tired."

As he spoke, he yawned, thinking to himself, "I should have known better than to come today, it's pointless..."

Hussein then took out a box containing a luxurious jewelry from his person and presented it to the guard beside him with both hands.

"Your Majesty, this matter is confidential. Please dismiss everyone else."

The young fox lord impatiently waved his hand, shooing away the royal family members who were preparing to watch the show, and said:

"Quick, open it and see what's this mysterious thing..."

The guard opened the box and saw a perfectly round bead lying inside, quietly gleaming with white light.
