Chapter 89 Explosion

Linde and his team spent almost a day setting up a total of nine crystal debris explosion points on the hilltop.

The three are now at the last explosion site.

Watching Lind perform miracles, Astaire couldn't help but sigh:

"By divine grace, the lord's power is becoming increasingly terrifying."

It turns out that when they were in the Earl's territory, Astaire had learned about his second son and initially thought he was just a nobleman's son who loved military affairs.

Unexpectedly, ever since the young master arrived in the territory, he has kept Astaire speechless with astonishment.

Alice remained silent, unsure of what kind of changes Lind's abilities would bring to the currently peaceful world of mages.

But thinking about it, it makes sense. Which oracle's descent hasn't shaken the world?

Alice has been with Lind for so long that she's developed some immunity to it.

As Linde huffed and puffed as he crawled out of the Crystal Forest, Alice walked over and, with practiced ease, placed a small bird-shaped familiar in the pit Linde had crawled out of.

The little bird familiar hopped around in the crystal pit a couple of times before settling down; it was almost invisible unless you looked closely.

"Alright, that's done now."

Linde cast a cleansing spell, dusted off his clothes, and then said:

"If we move further away now, we can almost see a huge explosion."

"I wonder how much destruction these nine crystal forests will cause. A nuclear explosion? If word gets out, the whole country will be shocked," Linde thought.

As Linde placed the crystal remains, he could also sense that the dark power underground was gradually gathering, causing the already scarce shrubs on the mountain to wither and die.

Delay could lead to unforeseen circumstances, so we didn't waste three days and spurred our horses to gallop back the way we came.

They soon reached the limit of Alice's familiar's control.

Linde glanced at the sky; it was already late. He estimated that Leonis's rescue would take about a day. The rest depended on how long his crystal explosion could hold off the cult priest, and ideally, kill him outright.

Linde nodded to Alice, who then cast several layers of shield spells on each of the three of them.

"Ready? I'm about to begin!"

Then, in front of everyone, he snapped his fingers, releasing the familiar from its control.

The little birds lying in the crystal skeleton twitched and then turned into a chaotic mass of magic that flowed into the crystal skeleton.

Immediately afterwards, a dazzling white light flashed, and the magic contained within the crystal skeleton poured out in an extremely violent manner.

In Linde and his companions' view, nine unparalleled points of light burst forth from the mountains.

Immediately following was a surge of magical energy, with the surrounding magic being swept in at an incredibly terrifying speed, forming a spectacular magical tide.

This beautiful, dazzling tide lasted only a moment before the nine beams of light vanished, leaving the entire mountain range silent, as if everything had been frozen in time.

Then, dawn broke.

Then came light! Endless light!

This light seemed to devour everything! To purify everything!

The light illuminated the surroundings, leaving only pure white. Everyone closed their eyes tightly, unable to look directly at the destructive white light.

After the white light, came the deafening roar of the explosion and the mournful cries of the earth being trampled.

The land was lifted up like liquid and then completely pulverized by a powerful force.

This immense impact seemed to force everything in the world to submit, with all things bowing down.

As this terrifying power swept through, the three could only rely on shield spells to withstand the powerful impact.

Aster raised his shield and stood in front of the two to reduce the power of the explosion as much as possible.

At this very moment, even the people of the fortified city witnessed this miraculous scene.

Just moments before, it was dusk, and the sun was about to set when another sun, even more intense than the midday sun, rose from the horizon.

It illuminated the world, which was about to fall into darkness, as if it were midday.

"Mommy, Mommy, it's dawn!"

"Oh my god, what happened?"

"Holy God above! Holy God protect..."

At this moment, both the city residents and the woodcutters in the countryside were terrified by this scene. Some were extremely frightened, some knelt down to pray, and some ignorant people even believed that this was a gift from the gods...

Viscount Swift, in the castle of the fortified city, was filled with worry, pacing anxiously back and forth in his room like an ant on a hot plate, wondering what had happened at the priest's place.

Even in the capital city far to the north, some people were unable to sleep all night because of this.

The magic network observer in the magic academy is awakened from his slumber by a piercing alarm.

The crystal instrument vibrated intensely, drawing terrifying arcs on the paper, forcefully etching this power onto the paper.

The entire observation room was thrown into chaos. The supervisor roared as he sorted through the flood of data records that had just poured out. Even Alice's mother, Lurie Erna, left her mage tower and came to the observation room herself.

"Dean... Dean, something terrible has happened! Our magic network fluctuation instrument has just detected an extremely violent magic tide phenomenon..."

Lurie snatched the record from the observer's hand, her brow furrowed.

"The south...is it near a fortified city?"

"Alice... are you alright?"

"Quickly! Continue the observation and recording, record the status of the surrounding magic network nodes!"

"Yes, Dean."

…………

Let's turn our attention back to Lind and his two companions near the explosion.

The three of them had just crawled out of the mess of rubble, their skin burning from the scorching stones, and their bodies filthy and disheveled.

Even multiple layers of shields couldn't withstand the aftershocks of this terrifying explosion; they shattered long ago and vanished completely.

Aster dug the sword that had been knocked away by the shockwave out of the ground and put it back into his waistband.

Alice was pulled out of the ground by Lind and sat down beside him.

Immediately afterwards, Linde cast a Cleanse spell on each of the three, and then began to observe the surrounding conditions.

The mountain range was completely unrecognizable. The violent explosion destroyed the already hollow mountain in the first place, leaving only a blurry remnant.

What was truly frightening was that the magical flames generated by the explosion melted almost everything on the surface of the mountain into bizarre crystals.

Hot magma flowed around the crystals, down the cracks, and formed pools of magma.

The crystals produced by these explosions spread out like ocean waves, forming peculiar peaks along the trajectory of the explosions.

At this moment, the spike still retained extremely high heat, flickering with terrifying electric arcs.

"It feels even more powerful than a nuclear explosion..."

Linde couldn't help but marvel that he had essentially altered the terrain, and this place would likely become a spectacular tourist attraction in the future.

Just as Linde and his two companions were observing the horrific scene of the explosion, suddenly, a faint black aura surged from the crystal spikes that were flashing with electric arcs.

Immediately afterwards, a deformed figure struggled to crawl out of the magma pool at the center of the explosion, looking up at the sky and howling in agony.

Damn it, he's still alive!
