Chapter 126 Magic Armor

"So what if they overstep their authority? It's only a matter of time before the Holy Church takes action. We can't just let them amass military power and do nothing in the country."

Count Truk turned his gaze to Grand Duke Clement and continued:

"It's better to wear down some of their strength than to fight alone."

"Also, he once told me why he wanted to start the uprising at this time..."

“Someone in the Sass Empire has blasphemed against the gods, which is absolutely unforgivable to them.”

Grand Duke Crete rose from his seat and said:

"Forget it, let's leave it at that. I want to see what tricks they can pull."

…………

"Buzz—"

With a buzzing sound, the replica core in Linde's chest began to operate steadily and emitted a soft white light.

Following the steps taught by Alice, Lind pulled hard on the handle next to the core, and the magic power released by the core formed a set of magic armor that completely covered his body.

From a distance, the armor, gleaming faintly, looked incredibly imposing.

Then Alice beside him shouted:

"Let's begin!"

"good!"

Alice waved her staff, and a powerful magical structure instantly formed.

"Spirit of Wind, Wind Blade!"

The dazzling spell transformed into several powerful wind blades, slashing towards Lind.

Linde neither dodged nor evaded, letting the wind blades strike him.

At this point, Linde had to admit he couldn't help but admire him.

"The magic power output of this core is really stable. If it were a shield spell cast by an ordinary mage, it would probably have disintegrated long ago due to unstable mental power."

"This core doesn't need to consider mental power. As long as there is a supply of magic power, the spell markings on the core can operate stably. It's much stronger than the uneven quality of mages."

The wind blades formed by magic, like sharp knives, slashed fiercely at Lind's magic armor, but only sparks flew.

Lin De felt much more at ease; it seemed that the armor created by this replica core had excellent defensive capabilities.

Upon seeing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Alice's eyes, and she immediately increased the output of her spells.

"Wind Spirit, suppress!"

The spell that Alice had used countless times to immobilize her enemies was cast directly on Lind.

The gale that poured down from the high heavens pressed down on Lind's magic armor as if it were a tangible force of gravity.

This time, Linde clearly felt considerable resistance, as if he were carrying a thousand-pound weight on his shoulders, making it difficult to move.

"The control is still effective..."

While the magic armor can withstand direct damage from magic, it cannot negate control effects.

It's already pretty good, though. Wearing this thing will turn warriors into humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex and wreak havoc everywhere.

When a mage wears this, they can unleash powerful spells without restraint; I'd be mortified if they even flinch.

Alice dispelled the spell and called out from afar:

"Linde, move around a bit and see how much it moves. Are there any obstacles when you move?"

Linde swung his arms and kicked his legs, performing several difficult somersaults and leaps.

"Hmm, not bad. There's basically no feeling of blockage. The only issue is that there's some weight in my core, which shifts my center of gravity to some extent. I'll have to work on that later."

"The core can be directly transplanted onto the enchanted plate armor. This will provide some defense when the magic armor is not activated, and also distribute the center of gravity to ensure stability."

Linde looked at Alice in the distance and made a gesture of completion.

Alice used wind magic to quickly reach Lind, just as Lind deactivated his magic armor.

Alice touched Lind and said:

"How are you? Are you alright?"

"Of course not, your magic armor is very well made and has excellent protective properties."

"The only drawback is that, considering the center of gravity during combat, I suggest making some distinctions."

Alice listened very attentively to Lind's words; her lord always managed to give her some unique insights.

"For example, design a version of the core equipment for mages that can be carried on the back or mounted on a staff."

"For warriors, it was incorporated into enchanted armor..."

"If you need any materials, you can just go to my warehouse and get them. No one will stop you. Oh, and to avoid unnecessary trouble, remember to bring your badge."

Lind handed over a newly designed emblem.

This is the result that Linde came up with after racking his brains all night.

The emblem was entirely silver, with a huge black stone depicted on it. Three circular halos tightly encircled the stone, and at the intersection of these halos, in the center of the stone, was a circular point of light.

Linde originally wanted to embed a small crystal fragment in the center of the light spot, but considering the danger of the crystal fragment, he eventually gave up the idea.

"Is this the logo you designed? It's pretty good, quite nice."

Alice accepted the brand-new emblem without hesitation.

Linde has already given orders to make this symbol of Blackstone Territory into flags and emblems, to hang on the walls, and for each member of his makeshift troupe to have one of these emblems.

It won't be long before countless people recognize this flag.

After saying goodbye to Alice, Lind arrived at a construction site in his territory.

This is the final location chosen for the Holy Spirit Church, and construction has already begun.

These construction apprentices sent by the church are very capable; they are indeed experienced construction professionals who specialize in civil engineering.

Next to this construction site, there is a rather small wooden house, which is a temporary chapel.

It was less a chapel and more a temporary residence for the sisters Leonis and Rune.

Leonis, Rune, and Koya, the orphaned child of Father Reed, are all temporarily staying here.

Unfortunately, Linde's current mansion is too small to accommodate so many people.

Since he couldn't kick all the servants out, he could only make do with them for the time being.

Leonis didn't care. She had had enough of living a life of hardship and exposure for many years. As long as she had a place to shelter from the wind and rain, she would be fine.

Rune and Koya, on the other hand, grew up in a church and had never lived in such a spacious place before.

After spending the last two weeks together, Koya stopped bothering Linde and instead became very close to Leonis.

Linde realized that this little girl was definitely cut out to be a Holy Knight, dedicated to punishing evil and upholding justice.

"Your Excellency, you've arrived!"

Rune, who was hanging clothes to dry, was surprised to see Lind arrive. She quickly put down what she was doing and ran over.

"Hmm, how's it going living here lately? Is there anything you're not used to?"

"No, sir, life here is much freer than in the fortified city."

Linde now felt like an old leader inspecting the town, all that was missing was to put his hands behind his back and hold a teacup.
