Linde whispered to Astaire beside him:
"There are significantly more trolls this time than before, so we can't fight them head-on."
"Take half the men and go around to the left. Once I make my move, flank them from behind."
"Then annihilate them in one fell swoop."
Aster nodded and left quietly with his men.
Linde took a deep breath and said to the remaining soldiers:
"Wait for my command. First, throw javelins, then prepare for close combat."
At this moment, the trolls were slowly walking towards them.
The lead troll scratched his belly and mumbled in a language that humans couldn't understand.
"The priests sent us to do this lousy work, and there's hardly anything to eat. We're all starving!" (Troll language)
"Yesterday's humans were too tough... (troll language)"
The troll hadn't finished speaking.
"Javelin, throw!"
At Lind's command, javelins rained down on the trolls.
Given the trolls' enormous size, they were easy targets; several trolls were shot and fell to the ground, but most only suffered minor injuries.
"Roar! A sneak attack! It's a human! (Troll language)"
The lead troll roared and charged forward, brandishing its battle axe.
Linde activated his Aura of Activation, and with his Silver-level strength, he directly confronted the Troll Leader.
From the moment the two exchanged blows, Lin De felt the immense power emanating from the longsword.
Do not try to take it head-on!
Linde reversed his sword and body, skillfully deflecting most of the force of the attack.
Even so, the immense power of the giant axe still managed to create a horrible gash in Lind's longsword before it crashed to the ground, carving deep into the earth.
Lind discarded his damaged longsword, drew the Aserai enchanted javelin from his back, and hurled it fiercely at the troll who was pulling out his axe.
A terrifying sense of danger gripped the troll's mind. Without hesitation, the troll abandoned the giant axe and rolled behind it, thus avoiding the fatal blow.
Linde moved his hands, which were still a little sore and numb from the force of the impact.
The throw just now lacked power; even if it hit the troll, it would probably only injure it, not kill it.
Seeing that Lind had stopped throwing, the troll changed direction and successfully pulled out the giant axe.
At that moment, Lind pulled out a second javelin and hurled it at the troll leader.
This attack was even more terrifying and faster than the previous one. Although the troll reacted in time, it had to take the hit because of its enormous size.
The sharp javelin pierced deep into the troll chieftain's shoulder, the immense force driving the entire spearhead into his flesh.
Fortunately, his muscles were thick, and the shot did not damage his bones.
The troll roared in pain and charged furiously toward Lind.
Lind tried the same trick again, throwing a third javelin, but this time it was blocked by the troll's thick giant axe. The troll was very fast and rushed to Lind in the blink of an eye.
The giant axe, held by the troll leader in both hands, came hurtling in like a hurricane, slashing horizontally towards Lind.
Lind sneered, first lowering his body to dodge the attack, then charging at the troll's lower body with his javelin.
By the time the troll came to his senses, a javelin had already pierced his calf, leaving a large, bloody hole.
"Ah!!! Damn humans!"
Upon hearing this, Linde was startled, but outwardly he remained relentless, saying:
"Hey, it can speak human language? That's rare."
"I'm going to... smash you all to pieces!"
After it finished roaring, Lind said impatiently:
"Look around you, you idiot."
All the other trolls around him had already fallen, and Lind's soldiers were finishing them off.
"What happened? Did you use witchcraft?"
The leading troll had no idea what had happened; his people had been wiped out in just a short time.
Just moments ago, Aster led his flanked soldiers in a surprise attack from behind, achieving a great victory by killing almost half of the trolls present. The remaining trolls were overwhelmed and quickly met their end.
This scene took less than a minute.
In that minute, the leading troll was locked in fierce combat with Lind, completely unaware that the shouts of battle from his surrounding tribesmen had turned into screams of agony.
Linde tried to get information out of the troll by asking:
"Where did you come from? Why did you come here?"
As a result, the troll, already traumatized by the tragic deaths of his people, had no interest in listening to what Lind was saying. Enraged, the troll turned red all over and roared to the sky.
The enormous sound made everyone's eardrums bulge, and then it charged toward a soldier who was finishing off a enemy.
Halfway there, he collapsed to the ground with a thud; his enormous head had vanished, and blood gushed forth.
Astaire, carrying the troll chieftain's head, approached Lind and reported:
"The surrounding trolls have all been eliminated."
"Good. We'll take stock of the battle damage and head to the iron mine to rest before nightfall."
They were now less than a few kilometers from the iron ore mine, and Linde could clearly sense that there were no barbarian troops stationed at the mine.
It's more open there, much safer than in the woods.
"Yes, sir."
The group began to clean up; those who needed to retrieve the javelins did so, while others took a break.
Linde checked on several wounded soldiers and, under the guise of magic, used the properties of his activating aura to help them recover from their injuries.
"Yes, that's good. So far, we haven't encountered any staff reductions."
Under the powerful effect of the activating aura, Linde is currently unstoppable here.
With the addition of a significant number of soldiers at the gap level and high-level combat power, things have been quite easy so far.
Linde looked at the troll corpse on the ground and came up with a plan.
Trolls and goblins are barbaric races that are basically unable to communicate with or tame humans; they can only be understood through their "language."
"Men, cut off the heads of all the trolls."
“We’ll cut a few sticks and stick their heads up to intimidate the surrounding barbarians.”
"We need to let them know... who the prey is."
…………
About ten kilometers away in the deep mountains, on a barren mountain range, all sorts of simple wooden buildings have been built.
Beneath these buildings are regular rock formations with peculiar patterns, bearing traces of past human activity.
The entire mountain was inhabited by goblins and trolls, forming a town-like area.
If these creatures weren't so savage and ignorant, one might really think this was some kind of primitive tribe.
And sitting in the upper levels of this town was a truly enormous troll.
This troll is different from the others; it is larger and stronger.
Standing at 5 meters tall, it is considered a monster among trolls.
Its body is also covered with all sorts of jewelry and bone, making it look quite menacing.
If Linde and the others saw this, they would definitely gasp in surprise.
Is that a troll? What did it eat to grow up like that?
