It's Nix!
She perfectly capitalized on the chaos Lind created and the moment when the guards were shaken.
The power of shadow enveloped her petite body, making her appear like a true ghost.
Although the few elite soldiers left behind were vigilant, their vision and senses were disrupted by the huge commotion on the flanks, and the gaps between the patrol teams were magnified.
Nix seized the fleeting opportunity precisely, slipping silently through a tiny gap at the bottom of the tent canvas, in a blind spot where the two guards' eyes met.
Inside the tent, the chilling, light-devouring dark vacuum still existed.
A black stone container sat quietly on a wooden table, with several small black crystal bottles faintly visible inside. The viscous liquid seemed to pulsate slowly as if it had a life of its own, emitting a nauseating, cloyingly sweet and putrid odor.
Nix endured the icy repulsion emanating from the depths of her soul without the slightest hesitation.
She swiftly materialized from the shadows, her movements as fast as lightning.
She took the metal box, blessed by the light pulse, out of the shadow space and opened it with a soft "click".
With the emergence of the Light Vein Power, the dark vacuum formed by the Shadow Abyss Essence melted and dissolved rapidly, like ice meeting a raging fire.
Finally, under the light of the light veins, all the darkness was absorbed into the stone box and no longer appeared.
Seeing this, Nix quickly picked up the stone box and put it into Lind's light pulse box.
The moment the lid was closed, the suffocating and insane evil aura that had been lingering inside the tent seemed to be abruptly cut off!
The runes engraved on the surface of the Light Vein Box glowed faintly, forming a warm and tough barrier that completely isolated and sealed the container and the Shadow Abyss Essence inside.
"call……"
Nix's tense nerves relaxed slightly, but her movements did not stop at all.
She quickly put away the light pulse box and merged it into the shadow space.
His gaze swept over the scattered parchment notes and the wooden crate in the corner of the tent.
"Don't leave any clues, meow!"
She immediately grabbed the dim oil lamp on the table and smashed it without hesitation against the wooden crate piled in the corner, which might contain research materials or spare supplies!
"Clang! Crash!"
The oil lamp shattered, oil splattered everywhere, and flames instantly climbed onto the dry wood and parchment!
The flames suddenly shot up, greedily devouring everything that could burn.
The canvas inside the tent was quickly ignited, and thick smoke billowed up!
Mission accomplished! Without hesitation, Nicole once again transformed into shadow, like a startled fish, instantly "flowing" out of the tent through the gap she had entered, merging into the wider darkness of the ground, and fleeing rapidly towards Greenburg without looking back.
Behind her, the core tent had transformed into a bright fireball, standing out starkly against the chaotic depths of the camp!
"Fire! Fire in the core area!"
"Quick! Go put out the fire! There's something inside..."
The guards outside the tent finally noticed the anomaly and cried out in alarm, but it was too late.
The fire spread extremely quickly on the dry canvas and wood, and with the massive chaos on the flanks tying up most of the manpower, the chaos in this core area was only just beginning.
Nix sped through the shadows, sensing the ever-receding flames and chaos behind her with lingering fear.
The light pulse box remained safely within her shadow space, the nauseating, cloyingly corrupt scent firmly locked away, almost imperceptible.
However, a terrifying aura quietly appeared behind Nix, silently following her.
…………
Amid the chaos of the Sassanid camp, many Sassanids had already reacted and begun to organize a defense.
The pressure on Linde's side was increasing, and soldiers began to get wounded.
Linde cleaved the last Sass officer who tried to stop him with a single sword strike, scalding blood splattering onto his cold armor.
His sharp gaze swept across the chaotic battlefield. The main force of the Sassians had been successfully drawn away and disrupted. Flames soared into the sky on their flanks, and figures swarmed about like a boiling anthill.
Their goal has been achieved!
"Retreat! Back to the city!"
Linde's voice pierced through the shouts of battle, reaching clearly into the ears of every silver-lanced knight.
Like a well-trained wolf pack, the ten knights instantly tightened their formation and charged towards Grinburg with Lind as their spearhead!
They ceased fighting, their silver armor flashing in the firelight, their cloaks billowing, as they forcefully tore a hole through the chaotic enemy ranks.
The Sass soldiers' pursuit was thwarted by their fierce counterattacks and high-speed movements, and they could only watch helplessly as this elite squad broke away like ghosts and disappeared into the darkness leading to the castle.
The horse's hooves pounded the soft earth with a dull thud. As Linde spurred his horse forward, he subconsciously activated his active vision.
It wasn't to scout enemy positions, but to confirm Nix's location. In his perception, a point of light representing Nix, carrying a unique fluctuation of shadow energy, was rapidly moving from the core area of the enemy camp towards Grinburg.
However, not far behind the light spot of Nix, another "being" suddenly intruded into Lind's perception!
That active light was extremely strange! It was not the vibrant vitality of a physical life form, but a deep, viscous darkness that seemed to devour light!
Like the purest ink dripping into clear water, against the backdrop of the energy torrent that activates the vision, this dark color not only did not disappear into the night, but instead stood out as brightly as a lighthouse in the darkness!
It was locked on tightly to Nix's energy trajectory, moving at an astonishing speed, with a cold, greedy sense of lock-on!
Linde's heart clenched! A chill ran down his spine and up to his head!
"Nix is in danger!"
The thought exploded like a thunderclap!
He understood instantly! The firelight in the core tent and the theft of the Shadow Abyss Essence had ultimately attracted a truly terrifying hunter!
This thing is no ordinary soldier, and may not even be human! The aura it exudes is purer and colder than that of the Shadow Abyss Split!
"You all return to the city immediately! Notify Astaire to prepare for a rescue, put on high alert! I'm going to meet Nix!"
Linde's voice was firm and unquestionable.
"My lord! You..."
A knight called out urgently.
"Execute the order! Quickly!"
Lind shouted and yanked the reins hard. The warhorse neighed and broke away from the group, charging diagonally towards the location of Nix and the dark being!
Instead of heading directly towards Greenburg to intercept him, he decisively circled around to the side, attempting to intercept the relentless "hunter" from the flank, thus buying time and space for Nix.
