夏菊花一聽李大丫開口就覺得要糟，上前拉了她一把，沒讓李大丫撞到劉二壯，倒被劉二壯想乎李大丫的巴掌拍了個正着。夏菊花受了無妄之災，那巴掌正好拍在她的胳膊上。
“嫂子？”李大丫十分愧疚的叫了一聲，恨恨的看着不知所措的劉二壯。
劉二壯更是六神無主，想道歉都不知從何說起。劉三壯兩口子本來不想摻和孫氏的事兒，想着李大丫的話能讓劉二壯清醒一下，不想他惱羞成怒的動了巴掌。
這巴掌還拍到了夏菊花身上，兩口子趕緊上前圍住夏菊花，一疊聲的問她疼不疼，有事兒沒有。
夏菊花動了動胳膊，覺得沒什麽大礙，沖着不安的李大丫和安寶玲搖了搖頭，才看着劉二壯說：“二壯，這些年你幫了嫂子不少忙，嫂子心裏挺感激你的，更知道你是個看重親情的。”
“可是看得親情，不等于黑白不分吧？”說完，夏菊花轉身就往外走，不再看頭垂下蹲到地上的劉二壯。李大丫和安寶玲兩個直把夏菊花送到院門口，嘴裏不住的向她說小話。
這事兒能怨李大丫和安寶玲嗎？夏菊花不是遷怒的人，反而還得勸李大丫回去別跟劉二壯生氣，兩口子把話說開了就好了。
說完沒走出幾步，就有人把自家的院門打開了，跟夏菊花打着招呼，問她剛才老劉家又出了什麽事兒。夏菊花哪兒有心情回答這些，向人點點頭繼續往家走，問話的人就被同樣打開院門的鄰居埋怨開了：
“你是真沒聽見還是裝的，看不出隊長心情不好嗎？”
“我不就是想問問，明天咱們還能繼續編席不能，又咋惹着隊長了？”
“先是小叔子再是婆婆，一個接一個到紅小隊舉報你你心情好得了，還揣着明白裝胡塗！呸。”
小聲的争執追随了夏菊花一路，她都置若罔聞，回家後把炕上收拾了一下就躺下了，急的劉志全和劉志雙又跑了老院一趟，要問清楚他們娘是不是又受了氣。
聽說孫氏和劉紅娟一起舉報了夏菊花，兄弟兩個的表情都是一樣的，那就是看着縮在正房門口的劉志亮瞪眼睛。等聽李大丫說夏菊花還被劉二壯拍了一巴掌，兄弟兩個看劉二壯的眼神都不對了。
劉志全翁聲翁氣的說：“二叔，我娘沒對不起你過。”
“要是奶奶養的豬被村裏人看到了，二叔你覺得大家是罵你還是罵我娘？”劉志雙說的更狠。一人摞下一句，兄弟兩個一起回了家，提着心半宿沒睡好。
第二天兩人都是早早起來，一個打掃院子一個挑水，都幹完了才發現娘還沒起，劉志雙閑不住，拿起幾小截高粱稭，蹲在正房門前破開，慢慢的編起風車蒌來。
“你還有閑心玩這個。”劉志全覺得兄弟太不靠譜：“你嫂子都快把飯做好了，你問問娘吃不吃？”
劉志雙不滿的看了親哥一眼，想說他怎麽不問呢，門已經開了，哥倆都露出一口白牙：“娘你起來了，睡得好不？”“娘你咋剛起呢？”
不用問，頭一句是劉志雙說的，後頭一句出自劉志全。一直豎着耳朵聽動靜的王彩鳳，恨不得把自家男人拉進廚房，問問他究竟會不會說話，要是娘覺得他嫌娘起的晚了可怎麽辦。
夏菊花卻沒怎麽在意，自己洗漱之後吃了兩口東西，就放下碗往出走。王彩鳳忙說：“娘，你咋吃這麽點兒，是不是哪兒不舒坦？要不今天你別上工了。”
“沒事兒，我有點兒事想和陳秋生商量。”夏菊花頭也不回的說。
很快，街上就傳來了上工的哨聲，王彩鳳和劉志全兄弟兩個對視一眼，催着他們快走：“娘肯定是有事兒，你們兩個不替娘撐場子誰替娘撐着。”
抱着王彩鳳同樣心态的還有李大丫和劉三壯兩口子，以及孫招弟兩口子、李常旺兩口子、李常滿兩口子……看着飛快的向生産隊跑來的人們，陳秋生笑了：“隊長，我看你不用擔心了，以前要是提早吹哨，大家夥且得磨蹭呢，哪跟現在似的，一個個比隊裏分紅來的還積極。”
夏菊花讓陳秋生提前吹哨，不是心血來嘲，而是從昨天晚上就有的想法：昨天她往回走，想打聽的人就不少，看似關心孫氏為啥會被紅小隊抓走，其實是擔心夏菊花還能不能當生産隊長，編席還能不能繼續。
與其讓大家猜來猜去，還不如把話給說清楚了。
見人來得差不多了，夏菊花往人群前走了兩步，沒有什麽口號，直接說：“大家昨天應該都聽說了，孫氏和劉紅娟到紅小隊告我，說我私拿集體財産。經紅小隊查實是誣陷，所以她們連夜被紅小隊的人帶走了。”
“現在是冬閑的時候，咱們生産隊的收入就指望着編席，只有編席的社員練好了，編出更多更好的席，生産隊的收入才能增加，大家來年的分紅也能跟着多。”
“編席的社員們都知道，有些社員學的慢，為了不耽誤編席，我和會計登記之後，同意她們拿一些葦杆回去練習。可我們也說了，不管她們練的怎麽樣，第二天葦杆都是一根不少的拿回了場院。要是有誰不信的，今天下工的時候可以去場院那邊監督一下。”
“以後誰要是對編席的人回家練習有意見的，我希望他當着大家的面提出來，而不是跟孫氏一樣，動不動就跑到紅小隊去告狀。那樣不光耽誤我一個人的工夫，要是傳到供銷社去，人家不敢收咱們的席了，就是耽誤大家來年的分紅！”
說到最後，夏菊花把厲害都跟大家講到明面上。平安莊的人都聽出來了，夏菊花不是在威脅大家而是陳述事實：供銷社所以優先收平安莊的席，全是因為夏菊花能不停編出新花樣。夏菊花真出了事兒，平安莊的席還想比別的生産隊賣的價高，做夢呢吧。
不說大家都聽明白了，就算沒聽明白，也不耽誤有李常旺家這樣的大嗓門：“隊長，你放心，大家夥都不是沒良心的人，你帶着我們婦女大冬天的替生産隊掙錢，要是還有去告狀的，我先咒他八輩祖宗。”
李常旺家的是平安莊出了名的大嘴巴，她說咒人八輩祖宗那是真能幹得出來。李常滿家的不滿的說：“你光咒他八輩祖宗有啥用，他祖宗骨頭渣子都爛完了。還不如咒他生兒子沒□□。”
可把你們兩給能耐的吧。夏菊花自己都不好意思聽了：“行了，就是這麽個事兒。還是那句話，對我有意見的當面跟我說，覺得能比我更能當好生産隊長的，到大隊去說，用不着老麻煩人家紅小隊的同志。”
“你放心吧隊長，我們都知道是咋回事兒，有幾個跟老劉太太那麽見不得大家夥好的。”有人在人堆裏嚷嚷了一句，竟然有人起哄跟着拍起了巴掌。
陳秋生很慶幸劉二壯今天沒來，要不聽到大家人議論得氣死——昨天他可聽說了，劉二壯還給了隊長了巴掌。要讓陳秋生說，劉二壯瘋了才敢跟隊長動手，要是讓婦女們知道了，都敢一人一口吐沫淹死劉二壯。
反正現在陳秋生在家裏一句夏菊花的不是都不敢說，說個開頭他媳婦馬上把他怼到南牆上去。
