Chapter 1
"I heard that Shen Yizhi is graduating and returning to China. Mr. Pei, I'm afraid your good days are coming to an end."
The high-end club's private room was filled with the aroma of alcohol and dimly lit. Chen Jinyang swirled his wine glass, looking somewhat disinterested, and blurted out these words.
Suddenly the air became quiet, as if it was frozen and ice chips could fall at any time.
The man called Pei Shao was lazily huddled in the corner of the sofa, his long legs crossed on the table, his simple black T-shirt was loose, and the curve of his restrained and neat collarbone was vaguely visible.
The hair on his forehead was half hanging down, and his sharp facial features were hidden in the semi-light and semi-darkness, exuding a temperament that could not be ignored.
Hearing the voice, Pei Yanhe raised his eyes slightly, gave her a dark and unclear look, and said something expressionlessly.
"Are you free?"
Chen Jinyang curled his lips innocently, not getting annoyed at being criticized. After all, they grew up together and were used to his bad temper.
The main thing is that he has the capital to be arrogant.
Pei Yanhe was born into a wealthy family with generations of businessmen. He had a natural talent for numbers since childhood. He made tens of millions in profit from stocks when he was a teenager. By the age of 23, he was worth hundreds of millions and became a figure who often appeared in financial news.
Everyone in the circle had to give him some face when they saw him, but Shen Yizhi was an exception.
"I haven't seen Shen Yizhi for so long, I really miss her."
Chen Jinyang sighed in frustration, looked worried, and took a sip of wine.
Pei Yanhe's expression was dull, and he exposed her mercilessly, "If I remember correctly, you just met six months ago."
Although Shen Yizhi studies abroad, he returns to China for two days every few months.
The last time I returned to China was six months ago.
"What do you know? One day without seeing you feels like three years."
Chen Jinyang glanced at him with disdain. After a while, he thought of something and said teasingly:
“That’s right, you should be the one in the entire circle who least wants Shen Yizhi to return to China.”
Everyone in the circle knows that these two have been at odds with each other since they were young and have always been disgusted with each other.
When Pei Yanhe learned that Shen Yizhi was accepted by the Imperial College of Arts and was going to study in the UK, he drank all night to "celebrate" it.
Pei Yanhe said nothing, his eyes swept over coldly, and a hint of a smile appeared in his deep eyes.
Noticing that his expression was not right, Chen Jinyang continued to jeer, "I say, you should try not to make her angry... Forget it, it's better if you don't appear in front of her as much as possible."
"After all, she'll get angry just by standing in front of her."
“…”
Pei Yanhe kicked him and sneered, his voice carrying an imperceptible chill, "If you don't speak, no one will think you're dumb."
The cell phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated non-stop. Pei Yanhe opened it and took a look, then picked up his coat and stood up.
Chen Jinyang caught a glimpse of his movements and quickly asked, "Where are you going? Everyone hasn't arrived yet!"
Pei Yanhe didn't even turn his head and waved his hand casually, "Drink, put it on my bill."
After Chen Jinyang got the topic, he didn't keep him any longer, but he couldn't help but sigh that Pei Yanhe was a man with good qualities all over his body, and he was very loyal to his friends.
The only drawback is that people are too cold and lack a bit of human touch.
-
"Uncle Shen, is there something wrong?"
Pei Yanhe stood under the shade of a tree outside the club and answered the phone.
The voice on the other end was deep and gentle, "Yan He, Zhizhi landed in Kyoto this afternoon. Your aunt Tan and I are both on vacation abroad, and our driver has something urgent to do."
"Do you have anything to do this afternoon? Uncle, could you please help pick her up at the airport?"
The scorching June sun shone through the gaps in the trees and fell on my shoulders, soon causing a burning sensation.
“Uncle Shen, it’s no trouble.”
With the cold phone pressed against his ear, Pei Yanhe stared at the shifting light and shadows on the ground and said slowly, "I'm afraid she won't want to sit if I go to answer her."
"These are all trivial matters. Leave it to Uncle Shen."
-
Kyoto International Airport, Terminal 1.
Shen Yizhi switched off the airplane mode, turned his head and held out his phone to the man who had helped him push the luggage cart all the way, and said politely.
"Thank you for helping me push the cart. I'll pay you whatever you pay."
“It’s free,” the man scratched his head embarrassedly, “It’s just…can I add your contact information?”
The woman in front of him had fair skin and red lips. Her palm-sized face was delicate and three-dimensional, with a bright and elegant appearance. Her black hair hung down on both sides like seaweed. She wore a simple, slim-fitting, pure white one-shoulder top with a short skirt.
A red rope with a silver safety lock at the end hangs on the swan-like long neck, making it look more delicate.
The outstanding and eye-catching temperament is like the hydrangea blooming in spring, white and bright.
Shen Yizhi looked at him with her clear and translucent lychee eyes, without any hostility, and said seriously.
"Sorry, I don't usually keep in touch with people."
“…”
The man looked at the messages that kept popping up on her phone screen and fell silent. Wasn't the way she rejected someone a little too fake?
Chen Yizhi swiped the message without changing his expression, opened it and scanned it, "Give me the payment code and I'll give you the money."
"It's just a small effort, and the money is free."
The man heard the refusal in her words, his eyes drooped, and then he asked enthusiastically: "Is the car coming to pick you up here? Do you need me to push it over for you?"
Speaking of the car that came to pick her up, Shen Yizhi was also confused and didn't know who her father would send to pick her up.
"No, thank you."
After receiving the rejection and alienation tactics again, the man stopped bothering her and left angrily.
After the people walked away, several messages popped up on Shen Yizhi's phone. Every one of them was spam, and none of them was useful.
She glanced at him casually and was about to call Shen Dongliang to inquire about the situation when she seemed to sense something and turned her head to see a tall figure.
The man was holding his hands in his pockets. His arms were neat and thin under the black T-shirt. His skin was a cool white. He had broad shoulders and long legs. He walked towards this side with a sharp and unruly gait.
His facial features were sharp and powerful, and his narrow peach blossom eyes stared at her through the crowded crowd.
Their eyes met.
After being stunned for three seconds, Shen Yizhi turned around without hesitation and pushed the luggage cart in the opposite direction.
"Shen Yizhi."
A familiar clear voice sounded behind him. Shen Yizhi did not stop, but instead quickened his pace.
Suddenly, a hand appeared on the handle of the luggage cart in front of me, and the movement froze.
"Where are you going?" Pei Yanhe forcefully resisted her forward movement and looked down at her.
Shen Yizhi pushed twice but saw no movement, so he gave up and looked him up and down, his eyes falling on the half of the black rope exposed around his neck.
After two seconds, she moved her eyes back to his and looked into his eyes.
"Why are you here?"
The tone was casual but with a hint of hostility.
