Chapter 3
Bamboo Court Club.
Shen Yizhi walked through the long corridor and into the innermost room. Just as he put his hand on the door handle, he caught a glimpse of the man following him out of the corner of his eye.
She hesitated, "Why did you follow in?"
Pei Yanhe approached and looked at her calmly, "The bamboo garden is so big, is there no room for me?"
Shen Yizhi choked, and before she could open her mouth to retort, he had already opened the door of the next box, walked in, and closed the door.
She was left alone looking at the empty corridor, feeling extremely angry.
"Why are you back again?" Chen Jinyang was a little surprised to see Pei Yanhe come back again.
There were quite a few people sitting in the box. Pei Yanhe randomly found an empty sofa corner and lazily slumped over there, crossing his long legs. "I was bored, so I came back to take a look."
"Come back to see me?" Chen Jinyang touched his nose and said jokingly, "I didn't expect that I hold such an important position in Master Pei's heart."
Pei Yanhe glanced at him sideways and said, "Stop disgusting me."
Chen Jinyang shook the ice in his glass, shrugged his shoulders with a lack of interest, and asked for something to talk about: "Where were you doing just now?"
Pei Yanhe said calmly, "Pick someone up."
Chen Jinyang was curious, "Who could ask you to go?"
What kind of person can invite this young master?
He really wanted to know.
But Pei Yanhe was a very secretive person. He glanced at him casually without saying a word.
-
There is a wall separating the two rooms and the next box.
Shu Xinyu: [It’s over. My boss called me back to change the plan. I might not be able to get together.]
When she received this message, Shen Yizhi was sitting alone on the leather sofa. She was the only one in the box and it was extremely quiet.
She typed a message back: [It’s ok, you go ahead and do your thing, we can get together next time]
Shu Xinyu: [I’ll treat you to a meal next time! ]
Did you do it today? [Yes, no problem]
Since no one can come, it’s boring for her to stay here alone.
Shen Yizhi put away his phone, stood up and walked out. Just as he opened the door of the box, he ran into someone head-on.
"Shen Yizhi."
Shang Kuoheng had a gentle and elegant face, and his tone was complaining yet kind, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"
Shang Kuoheng is one of Chen Yizhi's childhood friends.
Shen Yizhi nodded, "I just arrived and didn't have time to talk about it."
Shang Kuoheng asked doubtfully, "Are you coming alone?"
Shen Yizhi explained patiently, "She had an appointment with a friend, but she couldn't come because of something unexpected."
"You've grown up, and you didn't even ask us out first when you just returned home."
Shang Kuoheng's gentle smile seemed to hide a knife. Shen Yizhi was most afraid of him smiling like this, so he tried to make amends.
"No, I'll definitely ask you guys out first next time!"
Seeing her sincere attitude in admitting her mistake, Shang Kuoheng pointed to the box and said, "Why not do it now? Chen Jinyang and the others are in there too."
I vaguely remember that the box he was pointing to seemed to be the one Pei Yanhe had just entered.
Shen Yizhi turned his head and refused, “Pei Yanhe is inside, I won’t go.”
"Are you scared?" Shang Kuoheng was used to using the method of provoking others, and Shen Yizhi was also fooled.
Afraid of Pei Yanhe?
This is impossible!
"Who's afraid? Let's go!" Shen Yizhi folded his hands in front of his chest, looking arrogant and imposing, and signaled him to open the door with his eyes.
Shang Kuoheng laughed. She and Pei Yanhe were still like this, competing with each other in everything.
In kindergarten, they fight for cookies; in high school, they fight for first place in the grade; when they grow up, they fight to see who can say the most. In short, they refuse to give in to each other.
Shang Kuoheng was used to it, so he grabbed the door handle and pushed it open.
As soon as I walked in, someone came to greet me.
"Oh, Mr. Shang, you finally decided to come."
Chen Jinyang paused in his sarcastic remarks, and noticed someone behind him. He asked in surprise, "Chen Yizhi, why are you here?!"
Chen Yizhi, Pei Yanhe, Shang Kuoheng, and Chen Jinyang grew up together in the same compound, and their relationship can be said to be very good.
"Come, come, come, I haven't seen you for six months, come and give me a hug."
Chen Jinyang opened his arms and was about to go forward to hug her, but suddenly his neck felt tight and someone grabbed his collar and pulled him back.
He barely stood firm, looking at the instigator with resentment in his eyes, "Pei Yanhe, what's wrong with you again?"
Pei Yanhe loosened his hand, stood in the dim light, and cast a cold gaze over, "Talk nicely, why are you hugging me?"
Chen Jinyang's mouth twitched, "I used to hold her when she was little, why can't I hold her now?"
Pei Yanhe said expressionlessly, "Then I'll wait until you're smaller before I hold you."
Shen Yizhi couldn't help laughing out loud, covering her mouth and laughing so hard that she bent over. After a while, she calmed down, "Pei Yanhe, you grew up eating gunpowder and rice, you have such a poisonous mouth."
Pei Yanhe chuckled lightly, then sat back down in the comfortable and warm corner of the sofa, his long legs propped up casually as if he had nowhere to put them.
Glancing at them casually.
"My eyes hurt from standing and talking to you guys. Can I sit down?"
Who would hurt their eyes when talking? Isn't this just a different way of saying they are short?
Pei Yanhe is nearly 1.9 meters tall, with long legs and amazing proportions. When he sits with one leg stretched out, the only space between the sofa and the coffee table seems crowded.
Shen Yizhi sat on the single-seater sofa, picked up the pillow and threw it at him, "It's amazing that you've grown to 1.9 meters."
Pei Yanhe raised his hand and took it steadily, putting it aside. He rested his hand on it, raised his chin, and said leisurely, "It's quite remarkable."
He always felt that he had an expression that seemed like he was begging for mercy. Shen Yizhi felt his back tingle under his gaze, and he was too lazy to pay attention to him.
There were more than just a few of them in the box, and the sound of chattering could be heard.
"Who is this girl? She seems to have a good relationship with Pei Yanhe and his group."
"She, Shen Yizhi, the only daughter of the Shen family in Kyoto, don't you know her?"
"I don't know him. I've only heard of the Shen family in Kyoto, but never heard of Shen Yizhi."
"Aging is amazing. As the only daughter of the Shen family, she grew up surrounded by love and care. She had everything she wanted, and she showed extraordinary talent for painting from a young age. At the age of seventeen, she was accepted into the Royal Academy of Art and studied for five consecutive years for her bachelor's and master's degrees.
Family background, education, looks, everything is available.
It's perfectly normal for such a rich lady to know Pei Yanhe and the others."
“Some people are born in Rome,” he said. “I think this is what they are.”
…
Hearing the praise, Shen Yizhi couldn't wait to run to Pei Yanhe, nudged him with her elbow, and said proudly with raised eyebrows.
"You're praising me, did you hear me?"
Pei Yanhe looked at her eyebrows that were curved in satisfaction, and a smile flashed in his eyes.
"I heard you, Miss Shen."
For the first time in her life, she didn't receive his sharp tongue. Shen Yizhi actually felt a little bored and sat down beside him with a dull look on her face.
Chen Jinyang, who was standing on the side, looked at the close distance between the two people, and his eyes suddenly became unfathomable.
"Pei Yanhe, tell me honestly, is the person you picked up Shen Yizhi?"
Pei Yanhe's eyes were cold and tired, and he didn't say a word.
Shen Yizhi didn't think anything was wrong, "He picked me up, what's wrong?"
"It's you, Shen Yizhi, who has to control Pei Yanhe."
Chen Jinyang gave her a thumbs-up, then remembered something and asked, "I remember you two were engaged when you were little?"
"Me and him?"
Hearing this, Shen Yizhi opened his lips slightly in disbelief and said firmly: “That is definitely a rumor.”
The tone was firm and resolute, as if it had cut off all the delusions that had not yet sprouted.
The box was filled with a strong smell of alcohol, and the jasmine scent so close to him isolated him from the outside, as if it belonged to him alone, clinging to him invisibly but untouchable.
Pei Yanhe was turning his phone around, staring at the air in front of him, sneering, as if he didn't comment.
