Chapter 52

Chapter 52

Pei Yanhe turned her phone with his white fingertips, staring at her intently.

He didn't say anything, just stared.

Facing his eyes that seemed to be soaked in ink, Shen Yizhi felt his scalp tingling, "Why don't you speak?"

Pei Yanhe withdrew his gaze without leaving a trace, lowered his eyes, stared at the dark sky, and said in a deep and slow voice, "I'm in a bad mood."

This is the first time I've seen him express his emotions so openly.

Pei Yanhe was trained as an heir since childhood, with high hopes placed on him and strict teaching. He was expected to always be better and more outstanding than ordinary people.

There are always people teaching him how to follow the rules and how to see through other people's minds at a glance.

But no one has ever told him that he should express his emotions.

Shen Yizhi took two small steps towards him, “Why are you in a bad mood?”

Pei Yanhe didn't say anything, and felt her hair suddenly entangled in his arm again.

"Did your company's stock fall?" Seeing that he didn't answer, Shen Yizhi had to guess.

"Did Erhuo provoke you?"

"Or was it because I lost the card game today that you got stuck with a blacklist?"

The reasons seem to get more and more outrageous as I continue to guess.

Pei Yanhe raised his head and glanced at her faintly, "Am I so stingy in your eyes?"

“Oh,” Shen Yizhi kicked his shoes and coaxed dryly: “Then why are you in a bad mood?”

Seeing that he still refused to speak, Shen Yizhi breathed a sigh of relief, so he said seriously: “Pei Shanshan, you have to tell me, then I will know.”

Pei Yanhe stood up and looked at her frowning brows because of him, as if he could see that he was the only one in her mind at this moment.

At that moment, the tangled threads in his heart actually found a way out.

"Nothing," Pei Yanhe said, "It's too hot, it's annoying."

Shen Yizhi was skeptical, "Just because of this?"

Pei Yanhe hummed softly.

"Oh," Shen Yizhi's expression suddenly changed. He pointed his index finger at him and questioned, "Then this is not a reason for you not to help me get the drawing board!"

There are especially many mosquitoes in the villa at night.

Pei Yanhe glanced at her still intact skin. If she stood there any longer, it might not be the same anymore.

He walked out.

Shen Yizhi thought he was deliberately escaping and immediately chased after him, "Evil Pei Shanshan, it's because you were slow to get the drawing board that I can't paint such a beautiful scenery today!"

In fact, Shen Yizhi has a good memory and a very rich imagination.

Usually, things that have been read once can be remembered, and can even be extended and developed into more details.

Pei Yanhe knew this, of course. He listened to her complaints quietly, and finally said something slowly.

"I'll come here with you to sketch tomorrow."

Shen Yizhi paused, then suddenly changed the subject, "You want to accompany me? Forget it then."

Pei Yanhe glanced at her reluctant face and said in a faint voice, "Not happy?"

"Of course..." Shen Yizhi's mind raced. "I once asked you to accompany me to sketch, but you moved around so much that you knocked all my paint palettes over. You didn't help at all and you only caused me trouble."

"You asked me to help you fan away mosquitoes." Pei Yanhe said expressionlessly.

For the first time, Shen Yizhi felt that Pei Yanhe was so difficult to deal with, and didn't want to continue to dwell on this topic.

"Anyway, I don't need you to accompany me to sketch tomorrow. I'll go get the sketchpad from you myself."

-

After returning to the room, there was only a small dim desk lamp on.

After washing, Shen Yizhi let her black hair hang loose. She sat at the head of the bed, turning her right wrist little by little.

The simple action made her look indeed fine, but only she could clearly feel the injuries inside.

Like a rusty machine, it can never be repaired or filled.

And her condition is no longer the same as before.

So she refused Pei Yanhe's request to accompany her in sketching because she didn't want him to know.

After Shen Yizhi finished the final rehabilitation exercises, he lay back on the bed, pulled the quilt over his head, and let out a loud shout.

"ah!"

He then lifted the quilt, looked at the ceiling above his head, and fell into silence.

Fortunately, I rejected him.

If she were asked to choose who she least wants to see lose.

Then this person must be Pei Yanhe.

-

The sun was scorching, and the wind blew through the treetops, rustling the leaves.

Shen Yizhi took the drawing board from Pei Yanhe and stood under the Deer Viewing Pavilion.

I was lucky today. There were two sika deer hiding in the green grass in the distance.

She dipped her brush in paint and began to paint on the paper.

I was so absorbed in this painting that I didn't even notice how much time had passed, or even that someone was standing behind me.

The gradual pain in her wrist brought her back to her senses from her creative work.

Shen Yizhi loosened his wrist, turned his neck, and caught a figure out of the corner of his eye.

She was slightly surprised, "Why are you here?"

Jiang Chi Nan walked down the steps into the pavilion, "Shu Xinyu said you might be here, so I was a little bored so I came to look for you."

He looked at the half-finished oil painting on the drawing board and guessed that she was so engrossed in the painting that she didn't notice the break.

"Does your wrist hurt?"

Shen Yizhi didn’t think it was a big deal, and said nonchalantly: “It’s not a big deal, it’s just a little sour.”

Jiang Chi Nan was unhappy with her constant lack of concern for her health. "Azhi, the doctor said that if you rest well for another year or two, you will definitely recover. But if you insist on picking up the paintbrush, it will only..."

He didn't say anything else.

Because he had said it countless times, even if he didn't say it annoyed, Shen Yizhi would probably be tired of hearing it.

Shen Yizhi's expression was as calm as ever, and she was even in the mood to comfort him. "The doctor's words are just to scare children. Besides, I have rehabilitation every day, and I can keep writing for longer and longer periods of time, which means that there is no big problem with me."

"Don't worry about it anymore," she teased. "If you keep worrying, I'm worried you'll get crow's feet. Don't try to blackmail me when that happens."

Every time we talked about this, she always glossed over it.

Jiang Chi Nan was really at his wit's end. He held his forehead, as if blaming himself, "If only I had been by your side at that time."

"Stop," Shen Yizhi stretched out his hand to stop, "past tense, refuse to mention it again."

"Okay, okay," Jiang Chi Nan said, "When do you plan to see a doctor again?"

Shen Yizhi looked at the sika deer in the distance, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Let's wait until after the exhibition."

"You are a rich girl, why are you working so hard?" Jiang Chi Nan was really confused.

If it were someone else, born in such a family, they would have become a little princess who was superior to others.

But she is stubborn.

Shen Yizhi glanced at him and said, "Okay, if there's nothing else, you can go. Don't bother me here."

Jiang Chi Nan's attitude was firm, "No, I want to stand here and watch you paint."

"Whatever you say." Shen Yizhi was too lazy to pay attention to him and devoted himself to painting again.

However, unknown to anyone, there was a person standing in the shade of a tree in the distance.

The man had a noble and cold temperament. He stood under the shade of a tree, wearing a neat and clean black shirt and black pants. His facial features were strong and his eyebrows were like swords.

His gaze was fixed on the Deer Viewing Pavilion, and there was no emotion in his black and white eyes.
