Chapter 003 Bill is seriously injured

The car stopped outside a bar. The neon lights outlined a playful bunny girl. The name of the bar was "Bunny Girl Bar".

The two walked in, and An Yi found that this place was much more lively than the tavern he stayed in in Orange County.

Hazy dark lights, jazz music, scantily clad women, bustling sounds, and the air was filled with the smell of marijuana.

The female attendants are all dressed up as bunny girls, with tight bikinis that make their figures look curvy, their long legs wrapped in stockings, their tall bunny ears one standing upright and one bent, and a plush ball on their buttocks, looking very cute.

A pretty bunny girl came over and said, "Bill, what do you want?"

"Two beers first."

Bill patted the bunny girl on the butt with a smile, teased her a few words, and sat down in a booth with Anyi.

The bunny girl brought two glasses of beer. An Yi and Bill clinked their glasses and took a big gulp. They talked about their past in the army and then talked about their current situation.

"You joined a gang?" An Yi asked in surprise.

Bill shrugged.

"When I left the military, I only got a few hundred dollars in retirement benefits. You know I have a big family, parents and five brothers and sisters. That little money is not enough."

"I originally wanted to work hard and earn money. I worked in a factory, did odd jobs in a store, washed cars, and worked as a truck driver, but my income was just enough to make ends meet. Now prices are soaring, and wages are being pushed even lower by those damn capitalists."

"They say the war is over and there are too many workers to use, so there is no shortage of jobs. The newspapers say the country is prosperous, but the unemployment rate has increased significantly, but no one reports it."

"I have a friend who is in the Jewish gang. He asked me to join, so I did this. It's not bad now. I earn much more than working as a part-time job," Bill said with a smile.

"What do you do?" An Yi asked.

"Deliver wine, collect bills, and maintain order!"

"The gang has underground casinos and loan companies, all of which require bill collectors. They also have bootleg liquor and cigarette businesses that supply alcohol to neighborhood bars and nightclubs. I'm in charge of this nightclub," said Bill.

No wonder the people here are so familiar with him.

The two men clinked their glasses, and Bill looked at Anyi and said, "Tom, let's do this together. With your brains and skills, you will definitely be able to make it."

An Yi shook his head.

He didn't want to join a gang.

In his previous life, An Yi was successful in business, but was later framed and fell from the top.

Possessing memories of past lives and decades of experience beyond this world, he believes that as long as he finds the right path, he will be able to make a lot of money in the future.

The underworld is a thorny road.

"I plan to find a stable job." An Yi said.

Bill shrugged and stopped trying to persuade An Yi. "OK, you can stay at my place for the time being."

As he said this, he took out a stack of banknotes and handed it to An Yi, there were hundreds of dollars in it.

"This money is for you. You need a suit that fits you well when you look for a job. It's getting cold now, so you also need a nice tweed coat. Go buy one tomorrow."

An Yi was very poor now and only had a few dollars on him. He did not refuse Bill's kindness and took the money and put it in his pocket.

Bill was very happy to see An Yi did not refuse. The two continued to drink and chat until nightfall. It was drizzling outside and the weather was getting a little cold. The two drove back to Bill's apartment.

The car parked in the yard. Bill arranged a room for An Yi and told him where the bathroom was. An Yi took a comfortable bath.

After drying his hair, Bill called Anyi and moved the living room sofa to reveal what was underneath.

"Tom, here are two guns and a few magazines. Feel free to use them if you need them."

An Yi saw that the two guns were Colt M1911, which was in service with the US Army. The pistol Tom Hardy used when he was in service was the Colt M1911, so he was very familiar with this type of gun.

An Yi smiled and said, "I'm going to find a proper job that won't require a gun."

Bill shrugged. "Who knows?"

Bill poured them another glass of wine and they continued chatting in the living room until late at night before going to bed.

The next morning, Bill said goodbye to Anyi and went out to do something. Anyi packed up and also went out.

I bought a new suit and a woolen coat on the commercial street, which made me look more energetic and handsome. I also bought a newspaper to check the job openings: factory workers, accountants, drivers, hotel waiters, movers...

After checking for a while, I found that either the salary was too low or the job position was not suitable.

I went to a few recruitment agencies in the afternoon and just as Bill said, although the economy is good now, there are more people looking for jobs. Many agencies just asked An Yi to fill out a resume and that was it.

When Bill returned to his house that night, Bill asked An Yi about her job search. An Yi said helplessly, "It's not going well. There are too many people looking for jobs. I don't have the education and professional skills, so there aren't many suitable jobs."

"It's just the beginning, don't worry." Bill comforted.

For several days afterwards, Bill went out to do his own things and looked for a job everywhere, but he didn't find any good results.

The main reason was that he didn't want to work in a factory doing repetitive manual labor. There was no development at all in those jobs and it didn't match his ideas. However, jobs with development were not easy to find.

That morning, Bill went out and said to An Yi with a smile, "I have to collect a bill today, five thousand dollars, which is a huge sum of money. If you can get it back, we can get one tenth of it, and I will take you to a big dinner when I come back."

One tenth of that is $500, which in this era is enough for a person's two-month salary.

Bill went out and An Yi continued to look for a job.

It was almost noon, so I bought a hot dog and a cup of hot tea on the street, ate them while sitting on the street, and continued looking for a job in the afternoon.

By the evening, there was still no gain.

Dragging his tired body back to Bill's apartment, An Yi just entered the room and suddenly felt a dangerous breath, which made his body stiffen. He subconsciously wanted to leave, but the door suddenly closed and a pistol appeared, with the black muzzle pointing at An Yi's head.

There were two guys in suits in the room.

One is in front and the other is behind.

The guy in front was holding a revolver with the muzzle pointed at An Yi's head. He was only about two meters away from him.

Another person stood at the bedroom door four or five meters away, with his hands in his pockets, as if ready to draw his gun at any time.

"Don't move!" the man pointing the gun at An Yi said in a deep voice.

Countless thoughts flashed through An Yi's mind quickly.

Thief?

Robbery?

Or Bill's enemy?

"Who are you?"

The guy who pointed the gun at An Yi took a step forward, with the revolver still pointed at An Yi's head. He was only half a meter away from him, just short of hitting his head.

An Yi suddenly moved.

He suddenly moved to the side to avoid the gunshot, and at the same time quickly stepped forward, grabbing the opponent's revolver with his hands one in front and one behind.

That person was shocked.

But before he could react, An Yi flipped his hands and snatched the revolver from the man's hand.

The other party was shocked.

The man at the bedroom door was so scared that he quickly pulled out his gun.

But An Yi moved faster. He turned around and grabbed the man in front of him by the neck with his left hand. The next second, the revolver was against his temple.

"Don't move, or I'll blow your head off!"

The man in An Yi's hand was immediately frightened and dared not move.

The man at the bedroom door pulled out a pistol and raised his hands to aim at An Yi, but he found that the situation had changed drastically and his companion was controlled by someone.

"Let Sean go!"

The man at the bedroom door shouted loudly.

"Drop the gun, or I'll kill him first!"

An Yi roared and pressed the muzzle of the gun towards the man's head in his arms again.

The guy in An Yi's arms was so frightened that his body was visibly shaking.

The man at the bedroom door was afraid of the consequences and didn't know what to do for a moment. He could only grit his teeth and point the gun at An Yi, and the two sides confronted each other.

"Tell me, why did you come to my house? What is your purpose?" An Yi asked.

The man in An Yi's arms was stunned.

"Your home? Isn't this Bill's home?"

"I live here."

The man in An Yi's arms immediately thought of something and said quickly, "We may have some misunderstandings. We are Bill's companions. Are you Hardy? Bill told us that he had a friend named Hardy who was staying at his house."

After hearing what they said, An Yi realized that it might be a misunderstanding, but he did not let down his guard and continued to ask:

"Why did you come to my house and rummage through my things?!"

The man in An Yi's arms immediately said, "We are here to get some clothes for Bill."

"Why doesn't Bill come get it himself?"

"Bill is hurt, badly!"
