Chapter 380 Romantic Rome
Audrey Hepburn prepared her luggage, accompanied by a male staff member and a female assistant. When they arrived at the airport, Hepburn found that there was no one else.
"I thought we were going out with the crew, are we the only ones?" Hepburn asked curiously.
The male staff member replied: "We will go there alone first. The company will be responsible for the specific itinerary arrangements. You don't have to worry about it."
"Can't you tell me what the play is now? There's no script?" Hepburn asked again.
"Don't worry, all this has been arranged." The male staff member said with a smile.
Hepburn did not ask any further questions. Since the company had arranged it, she just did as she was told. She was an easy-going person and there was no harm in waiting.
The plane takes off.
First they arrived in New York, and then took a plane to Rome, which took two days to arrive. It was Hepburn's first time in Rome, and everything here was new to her. However, because she was unfamiliar with the place, she only dared to secretly look out the window to observe the scenery of Rome.
The car stopped at a hotel, which was luxuriously decorated with columns and reliefs outside, like a Roman palace.
"Wow~ Are we going to stay in this hotel?" Hepburn asked excitedly.
She had never lived in such a nice place.
"Yes, I live here."
Finally checked into the hotel, Hepburn looked at the room's decoration, bounced on the soft bed, and then looked at the female assistant: "What do we do next?"
"Don't worry, we've been on the plane for two days, so let's take a break first. The company said they have arranged the itinerary." said the female assistant.
Hepburn nodded obediently.
She found the cute pajamas from the suitcase. There was a bathroom in the room, so she took a shower first, then put on her pajamas and got into bed. She was really tired in the past two days, and she also had the jet lag problem, so she wanted to have a good sleep.
It won't take long.
Hepburn fell asleep in a daze.
......
The next day.
Hepburn opened her eyes. The gentle sunlight shone through the curtains, giving her a warm feeling. She glanced at the alarm on the bedside table.
Oh my god!
It's already past 10 o'clock.
Hepburn did it impressively.
Because she got up too quickly, her head was a little dizzy, and she took a while to recover.
I'm here to work.
It would be bad if things were delayed.
But why didn’t my assistant call me? Doesn’t he have any work?
Get up first.
I ran into the bathroom in my cute pajamas, quickly washed my face, combed my long hair, sat in front of the mirror and put on some light makeup. When I was satisfied, I started looking for clothes in my suitcase.
Her life used to be very simple and she didn't have much money, so most of her clothes were ordinary and casual.
The current temperature in Rome is around 20 degrees during the day and about 10 degrees at night. Hepburn found a long-sleeved, white plush sweater, which made her look particularly clean when she wore it.
She wore a simple pair of blue jeans, which made her legs look very slender.
On his feet were a pair of flat leather shoes without heels.
Hepburn was tall, about 1.7 meters barefoot, and she practiced ballet for many years, so she usually wore flat shoes.
Finally I finished dressing up. Although it was a simple job, it took me about an hour.
Hepburn hurried to find her assistant, Ms. Tracy.
"I'm sorry I got up so late. Don't I have work today, Tracy?" Hepburn asked her assistant Tracy after seeing her.
The female assistant smiled and said, "Yes, there is no work today."
Hepburn finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"So what's next?" Hepburn asked.
The female assistant shrugged, "We'll go have dinner later, and then we can go out for a walk. Rome has many historical sites, shopping and fun places."
"Okay." Hepburn was suddenly excited.
At around eleven o'clock, the female assistant and Hepburn went downstairs to the hotel restaurant. It looked very high-end. Hepburn looked at the restaurant decoration and the people dining in the restaurant, and thought that a meal in such a restaurant would probably cost dozens of dollars.
They sat down.
Before the restaurant waiter came over, the male assistant quickly came to the table for the two of them and said, "Hepburn, Mr. Hardy is also in this restaurant. Please come over."
Mr. Hardy!
"Which Mr. Hardy?" Hepburn asked blankly.
"Of course it's our biggest boss, Mr. Hardy, the owner of HD Pictures." said the male staff member.
Hepburn and her female assistant Tracy were so scared that they stood up quickly and looked into the distance. They saw a young man sitting in the middle of the restaurant. He looked very similar to the man in the newspaper and on TV. Tracy immediately became nervous.
"Hepburn, it really seems to be Mr. Hardy." Tracy whispered.
Hepburn was also in shock at this moment. She didn't expect to meet Mr. Hardy here, and he even asked her to come over.
She became very nervous.
Hepburn walked to Hardy's desk with unsteady steps. She had seen Hardy on TV and in newspapers, and had heard about her boss' deeds, but this was the first time she was so close to him.
"Hello Mr. Hardy, I'm Audrey Hepburn."
Hepburn's voice was trembling when she greeted him, and she tried hard to force a smile, but it looked a little unnatural.
"Hello, Miss Hepburn." Hardy smiled warmly.
"Ah, Mr. Hardy, you know me?" Hepburn asked in surprise.
"Haha, of course I know you. I was the one who asked them to recruit you into HD Films. At that time, I watched the Dutch promotional video you shot and felt that you would definitely become famous." Hardy said with a smile.
Audrey Hepburn finally solved her long-standing puzzlement as to why the people from HD Pictures came to England to look for her.
It turns out it was all Mr. Hardy's fault.
"You haven't had lunch yet, would you like to have lunch with me?" Hardy asked.
"Ah, have dinner with you? I, I'm afraid of disturbing you." Audrey Hepburn said a little surprised.
She is introverted and not good at socializing. If she were any other Hollywood actress, she would definitely jump at the opportunity, but she was afraid inside.
"It's okay, I also eat alone, so I want to find someone to chat while eating." Hardy said.
Hepburn looked at her assistant Tracy.
Tracy nodded slightly and gave an affirmative look.
Tracy is much more mature than Hepburn. If she can be valued by Mr. Hardy, Hepburn's future will naturally be much easier, and her position as an assistant will also rise.
This is a rare opportunity.
Hepburn saw the meaning in the assistant's eyes and nodded to Hardy, "Okay, Mr. Hardy, I hope I don't disturb you."
Hepburn sat down.
The waiter came over and asked them what they wanted to eat.
Hepburn ordered two dishes, and Hardy smiled and shook his head, "You eat too little, this won't do." Hardy helped Hepburn order two more dishes, and then ordered his own favorite food.
The waiter said goodbye and left.
The assistant and Tracy hid far away, leaving only Hepburn and Hardy at the table.
Hardy looked closely at Hepburn.
With clear big eyes, delicate little face and slender figure, Hepburn did not have the kind of beauty that would make people stunning. What was most attractive about her was her temperament.
Pure and elegant.
If Monroe is a fiery red rose, representing charm, then Hepburn is a white water lily, representing purity.
But at this moment, there was a hint of panic in Hepburn's eyes, just like a little deer hiding in the grass and looking at the world.
Could it be that I am the big bad wolf?
"Do you like performing?" Hardy asked.
"Oh, I like it very much." Hepburn quickly replied when she heard Mr. Hardy asking her.
"The company has arranged those performances for you. How does it feel to shoot them?" Hardy asked again.
"My first role was in a British court drama, where I played a maid. I was a little nervous at first, but gradually I relaxed a lot..."
Hepburn slowly opened up.
In fact, it's not that she doesn't like to talk, she's just introverted and afraid of meeting strangers. Hardy guided her to talk about topics she is good at, and gradually she was no longer as nervous as before.
The food is here.
Hepburn talked about the second play, which was a fashion show in which she told a few jokes and even laughed when she was telling the jokes.
Hepburn looks beautiful when she smiles.
elegant.
Hardy also found that her teeth were now very straight, unlike her previous life. In this life, Hepburn joined Hardy's company and underwent tooth plastic surgery and wore braces. After a year of correction, her teeth became straight and white.
The two of them are now talking and laughing.
Hepburn relaxed completely.
At this moment, being guided by Hardy, Hepburn had forgotten Hardy's identity and just thought she was with a friend.
If this scene were placed in the animal world.
It's like a lion seeing a newborn fawn nesting in the grass.
The little deer looked at the world in horror.
The lion did not rush to eat the fawn. Instead, it stretched out its tongue and licked the fawn. The fawn was naive and thought that the lion loved it very much.
Send a cheerful deer cry to the lion.
The meal was very relaxing. Hepburn seemed to have already regarded Hardy as a friend. Hardy said, "I have nothing to do this afternoon. Miss Hepburn, can you accompany me to stroll around Rome?"
"Oh, I promised Tracy to visit Rome with her." Hepburn said with some embarrassment.
"You can ask Tracy to join us." Hardy said with a smile.
Someone called Tracy over. When Tracy heard that Hardy wanted to ask Hepburn to visit Rome together and take her with him, Tracy immediately shook her head and said, "Mr. Hardy, I won't go. I have a lot of work to do in the afternoon."
Tracy is much more mature than Hepburn, so naturally she doesn't want to be a third wheel.
If I just follow them foolishly, I'm afraid my job will be over.
"Well, work is more important, so let's go together." Hardy looked at Hepburn.
Hepburn had just chatted with Hardy and had relaxed a lot, but now she was a little nervous again and looked at Tracy hesitantly.
Tracy smiled and nodded encouragingly.
Hepburn nodded.
What a simple girl.
Tracy breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Hepburn agreed.
After lunch, Hardy took Hepburn out of the hotel. There was a scooter parked outside. Hardy patted the scooter and said, "The streets in Rome are very narrow. Let's ride a scooter?"
"Sure." Hepburn nodded obediently.
Hardy sat on it, and Hepburn sat behind him, her small hands somewhat awkwardly pinching the corner of Hardy's clothes around his waist.
"Where do we start? Is there any place in particular you want to go?" Hardy asked.
"I don't know either." Hepburn replied a little cautiously.
"Ha, let's start with the most recent one," said Hardy.
The motorcycle started and drove onto the road. The wind blew Hepburn's hair a little, and Hepburn felt very comfortable.
Several cars were following behind at a distance.
The motorcycle soon arrived at the Piazza della Repubblica in Rome.
It is surrounded by circular buildings and in the middle is the Water Goddess Fountain. This is where Princess Anne jumped out of the car in the movie "Roman Holiday".
Two people got off the car.
Hepburn looked at the fountain statue and the surrounding buildings and said, "This place is so beautiful."
Hardy smiled and said, "This is Piazza della Repubblica. To the northeast is the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and Martyrs, which was designed and constructed by Michelangelo himself."
The two got off the motorcycle and took a walk.
There were already quite a few tourists here, and then the two came to the ruins of the Roman Gardens. Hepburn was a little tired from walking, so she sat on a long stone bench by the roadside, looking at the Roman columns in the distance and the Arch of Settimio Severo behind her.
Hardy's heart moved.
Isn't this long stone chair the place where Princess Anne slept and where the male protagonist picked her up? Sometimes it's just such a coincidence.
Or it's destined.
"How does it feel?" Hardy asked.
Hepburn smiled.
“Of course, it feels very relaxing.”
She originally thought she would be nervous, but when she was with Hardy, she was surprisingly relaxed. The two of them just walked around and talked about Rome's architecture, history and art. Hepburn liked this feeling very much.
