Chapter 220 Escape Methods
The thick iron chains jingled loudly. Su Junyao, who was trapped, never imagined that he would one day become a prisoner.
I just wonder how Qiuqiu is doing now.
He was the target of this group, and Qiuqiu was implicated because of him.
"If you dare to touch a single hair on my daughter's head, I'll make sure you suffer a terrible death!"
Na Duohe didn't take Su Junyao's words to heart at all. What difference would it make if a person who was going to die said some harsh words?
"Su Junyao, look at yourself! The dignified Marquis of Wenyang is acting like a dog!"
Su Junyao's chin was grabbed and forcefully lifted, causing him to let out a muffled groan. He had suffered a severe knife wound on his back, which had turned white and begun to rot after being soaked in filthy sewage.
Na Duohe deliberately poked at his wound with his fingers, but his eyes remained fixed on the wound, trying to observe his expression. "My lord, does it hurt?"
"Despicable villain!"
“Crash!”
Su Jinze was hanging in the water, splashing dirty water into the Naduo River with his feet, shouting, "Let go of my father!"
That bastard, I'll skin him alive and soak him in this filth someday!
Na Duohe was surprised that Su Jinze was still so energetic even after being hung up. He spat out a mouthful of dirty water and released Su Junyao. Just as he was about to target another one, his eyes suddenly went blank and then he began to tremble.
He staggered back a few steps, clutching his throat with one hand, his eyes turning bloodshot. "The medicine! My medicine!"
"My medicine!"
Na Duohe is both a Gu master and a healer. His frenzied state makes him resemble a mad dog on the street.
"Naduohe, let us go, and we can help you find the medicine." Naduohe's frantic state made Su Junyao realize that now was the best time to bewitch him. "You want the medicine, don't you? I know where your medicine is. Untie our chains, and I'll give you the medicine."
Su Junyao's coaxing tactics were too crude, leaving Su Jinze utterly bewildered. Such words wouldn't even work on a simple chatterbox, let alone on that cunning and treacherous old fox, Na Duohe.
But something unexpected happened to Su Jinze. Na Duohe's lips turned pale, and her hands trembled as she tried to unlock the chains. "Medicine...can you give me medicine...open it..."
"Ugh! I can't open it!"
Nadohe's hand trembled, and the key fell into the sewage...
Su Junyao: “…”
Damn it! You idiot, take some rat poison and calm down!
Su Jinze glanced at the Na Duo River, which was about to sink into the sewage, and then ignored it, turning to discuss with his father how to escape from here.
Now that the only key has fallen into the water, we can't just wait for Chiu Chiu to climb in through the window of the water prison to rescue them!
But thinking of Chuchu...
"Tsk, it's not impossible."
Su Junyao followed his son's gaze and glared at him warningly: "Don't even think about it. Your sister isn't a cat; she can't possibly squeeze through such a small hole!"
Unfortunately, Su Jinze was currently suspended and couldn't touch his nose to hide his embarrassment. Was his intention really that obvious?
Su Jinze: "But anything that happens to Qiuqiu would be reasonable, right?"
Su Junyao growled, "Shut up! Think about how to get out of here!"
That despicable scoundrel Naduohe used the villagers of Baihua Village as hostages, leaving Su Jinze with no choice but to surrender. When they were brought in, their eyes and ears were plugged, so he was completely unaware of their surroundings. Naduohe was the only possible way to harm them.
But the man plunged into the water and became motionless. If it weren't for the occasional splashing around, one would have thought he had drowned.
"Hey, are you dead yet?" Su Jinze used his arms to leap out of the water. He used his waist to lift his leg and hook his foot around Na Duohe's neck, just as he was about to pull him over, but unexpectedly Na Duohe grabbed his ankle and pulled him down forcefully.
Su Jinze's center of gravity dropped, and his wrist was immediately cut by the iron chain, leaving a deep bloody mark with flesh torn open.
"Ugh..." Su Jinze bit his lower lip hard. "What kind of monster are you?!"
Nadohe's nose twitched repeatedly, his eyes shifting between clarity and emptiness, before he finally turned and ran away.
The door to the water dungeon was opened, and the blinding sunlight shone in, making the father and son uncomfortable, so they closed their eyes. It took them a long time to open them again.
It was very quiet outside, as if no one was there.
Su Junyao coughed twice, only the echoes answered, "Are you so sure we can't escape because you're confident we don't even have anyone to guard us?"
He gave a self-deprecating smile, "Boss, this time it's your father who's dragged you into this."
Su Jinze felt a chill run down his spine from the sudden display of fatherly love. "No, please don't say that. It scares me."
He rolled his eyes at his clueless eldest son and said, "Daughters are better!"
"Hehe." Su Jinze suddenly grinned mischievously, "So, you're waiting for your daughter to come and save you?"
Su Junyao: "Do you have a way to get out?"
The socks, stained so dark by sewage that their original color was no longer discernible, were held up between the toes, revealing the man's large feet oozing water.
Su Junyao was extremely disgusted. It already smelled bad, there was no need for... huh?
"key?!"
The water dungeon probably wasn't built by Na Duohe, a member of the Hundred Flowers tribe, and it's unknown what Han Chinese water dungeons look like. The water in this dungeon isn't deep; Su Jinze's feet just touch the bottom. When Na Duohe pulled him down earlier, he tried to stand on tiptoe to ease the pain, but unexpectedly touched something cold.
He used his strong sense of touch to confirm that it was the key and then figured out how to clamp it in place.
"See? I'm still the best!" After all, he was only eighteen or nineteen years old, and he proudly showed off to his father.
Su Junyao didn't interrupt him, and waited until he had finished laughing before asking a question: "How do we unlock it?"
Su Jinze's smile froze on his face; his intelligence must have been eaten by a Gu worm!
He awkwardly lifted his leg, wondering if he was really going to wait for Chiu Chiu to crawl in and save them.
This is ridiculous!
"Meow~"
Su Jinze looked around: "Dad, did you hear a cat meowing?"
Su Junyao ignored his eldest son, staring at the small window above him in deep thought. He tentatively asked, "Chirp chirp?"
The moment the word "Chirp chirp" was uttered, an eerie silence fell over the water dungeon.
Su Jinze broke the awkward silence: "You just told me not to overthink it."
“Meow meow meow!”
The meows grew louder and louder, and soon two furry cat faces peeked out of the small window: "Meow?"
The father and son were dumbfounded, wondering why they felt as if the two cats knew them. A meow seemed to confirm their identities.
Su Jinze: "Do you know Qiuqiu? My little sister Qiuqiu is a chubby little girl. She... she says she's a lucky charm."
Both cats were half-grown kittens. They stared at the father and son for a while, meowed at them twice, and then disappeared through the window.
Su Jinze said disappointedly, "It seems that Qiuqiu's friends haven't spread to the Southwest yet."
It was all for nothing.
Su Junyao smiled mysteriously, thinking, "Young people are still too naive!"
He turned to his eldest son and said, "Whether we gamble or not, they've gone to get reinforcements for us."
Su Jinze hesitated: "What are we betting on?"
