Chapter 127 Lips

Seeing his insistence on his explanation, Xiang Xiaonan naturally believed him to some extent, but she was a little curious as to why he had to explain it to Xia Lian in particular.

Wow, it smells so good!

Three bowls of spicy hot pot were served, which shut Xiang Xiaonan up from her incessant chatter. She sniffed, picked up her chopsticks with a delighted expression, and started eating.

Xia Lian sipped the soup slowly, and after swallowing a mouthful, the warm soup made her feel much better.

Only Wen Mo fell into deep thought.

I had thought before about whether I should confide in someone about my current situation. This feeling of having something stuck in my chest and not being able to say anything is really uncomfortable, especially since this matter is quite special. If I were to speak out, being scolded would be the least of my worries.

Thinking of this, he raised his eyes and glanced at Xiang Xiaonan.

This silly girl was eating happily, completely disregarding her image. She's clearly a beauty on the outside, but this is how a beauty eats.

During the first two years of their relationship, he realized that Xiang Xiaonan was someone who was easy to confide in. No matter what you told her, she would become a completely different person, like a caring older sister, to comfort you.

This is one of the reasons why Xiang Xiaonan has so many friends. People like her make friends very easily, and they also have a likable personality and are pretty.

Most importantly, Xiang Xiaonan has always kept her mouth shut, like a real confidante. No matter what secrets you tell her, she will automatically erase her memory after a day.

Uh... the automatic memory erasure might just be because she's too stupid. There's nothing she can do; this girl is just an idiot. She memorized the words yesterday, and today she's sticking out her tongue and saying she's forgotten them all.

If I told her all the secrets hidden in my heart...

Wen Mo was thinking. He really needed someone to listen to his troubles. The distance between them during this period was driving him crazy. He even wondered if things would be better if Xia Lian wasn't his cousin.

ā€œI’m telling you, Xiao Nan.ā€

"Um?"

Xiang Xiaonan still had a few noodles in her mouth. When she heard Wen Mo call her name, she immediately looked up and slurped up the noodles in her mouth.

She pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth and said with a smile, "What's up, Wenmo? Why did you suddenly call me?"

"..."

Wen Mo held his chopsticks tightly. He had a habit of subconsciously biting his lower lip whenever he encountered something upsetting, to the point that his lower lip was almost bitten raw recently.

"...It's nothing, you can keep eating. I just wanted to say that your eating manners are terrible." Wen Mo forced a smile but didn't say it out loud. He casually made a comment about Xiang Xiaonan's eating habits and continued eating the food in his bowl.

"Really? My table manners are this bad?!"

"Yeah, you're an idiot, so you probably can't tell."

Wen Mo echoed, glancing at Xia Lian every now and then. The person he cared about most was sitting beside him, quietly eating the spicy hot pot in her bowl.

Compared to Xiang Xiaonan, Xia Lian's eating manners could be described as elegant. She ate small bites one after another, and if she ate too quickly, she would take a spoonful of soup, taking her time.

Perhaps he was a little engrossed in what he was watching, for Wen Mo suddenly heard a crisp sound that brought him back to his senses.

Xiang Xiaonan stood up and snapped her fingers near his cheek. When Wen Mo turned around, she withdrew her hand and continued eating as if nothing had happened.

"You can tell me anything that's bothering you. It's so hard to keep it inside. We're friends, aren't we?"

She casually uttered a seemingly random remark, and a few seconds later, she looked up at Xiao Nan and pointed at Wen Mo's mouth with a smile.

"It must hurt, so don't bite your lip."

After saying that, he took a big gulp of the soup in his bowl and drank it down as if he hadn't said anything at all.

At the dinner table, Wen Mo stood there stunned for a long time.

He knew that his preferences might be different from others', and he was afraid of being misunderstood or even met with disgust.

But as Xiang Xiaonan said, they are friends.

An hour later.

After finishing their meal, the group decided to part ways in the teaching building.

After escorting Xia Lian back to her first-year classroom, Wen Mo waved to her with a smile, but when he turned around, the smile on his face vanished.

He took a deep breath, patted Xiao Nan on the shoulder, his expression serious. "Xiao Nan, let's find a secluded place to talk."

As if she had already guessed Wen Mo's reaction, Xiang Xiaonan did not react at all, but simply followed behind him with light steps.

Wen Mo chose the same bench where he met Jiang Meng. This was a quiet spot where few people usually came, making it the perfect place to whisper secrets.

"There were two chairs here before. I didn't know that. How did you find them?" Xiang Xiaonan plopped down on a bench and patted the spot next to her.

"I met that girl right here when I received the love letter."

"You rejected her here?"

"right."

Wenmo sat down beside her, leaning slightly forward, his hands resting on his thighs, his fingers intertwined.

Xiang Xiaonan crossed his legs, yawned, reached out and patted his back, his expression somewhat casual, "Speak, what do you want to say by bringing me here?"

She knew that Wenmo was hiding a secret.

Wen Mo clutched his chest, carefully sensing the tension within him. After it eased a little, he exhaled and said wistfully, "I have someone I like."

"Hehe, I knew it. And then what?"

Xiang Xiaonan probably guessed this, so she wasn't too surprised, she just moved her body a little closer.
