Chapter 172 That Kind of Thing

During class, Wen Mo kept thinking about Xia Lian. He lay absentmindedly on the table, twirling the black pen in his hand.

"Clatter".

Distracted, the black pen accidentally fell to the ground.

Reaching out to pick it up, Wenmo pulled out a piece of white paper and scribbled on it casually. Hmm... sure enough, the water ran out after it fell, and he couldn't write anything.

He simply threw the pen away, exhaling a breath of white mist. He felt uneasy, as if a secret buried in his heart was about to be discovered by others, and he felt inexplicably nervous.

"What the heck? Why am I suddenly sweating?"

Wen Mo frowned, looking at the fine layer of sweat on his palms and shaking his head. "Am I having kidney problems lately? I'm sweating even when I haven't done anything."

He muttered something under his breath and stopped thinking about it, continuing to doze off on his desk until just before the end of class when his phone suddenly rang with a message.

After a long silence, Wen Mo finally smiled, looked down and opened his phone. The message was indeed from Lian Bao, but it was short, containing only one sentence.

"Let's have lunch together."

Hmm... Let's have dinner together. As expected, this girl still can't live without me.

Wen Mo smiled smugly, glanced up at the teacher lecturing above, and seeing that the teacher had no reaction, immediately replied.

OK.

"Cool emoji packs".

He then put away his phone and waited patiently for get out of class to end.

Looking at the clock hanging on the wall, the minutes inside were slow and motionless, only reluctantly moving forward a little after a long time.

I never thought that going to class was so difficult before. I just listened to the lectures and it passed by. Although it was boring, I made some progress.

But now every minute and every second feels incredibly long, and the sad little figure keeps appearing in my mind, making my heart pound.

"I really want to see you soon," Wen Mo murmured.

"Huh? What did you just say?" Qin Zhou groggily raised his head, looking as if he had just woken up.

"It's okay, you can go back to sleep."

...

Finally, get out of class ended, and Wen Mo stood up as if he had been resurrected, patting his cheeks with great enthusiasm.

Ever since I met Lianbao, every day has felt like an extra day to look forward to. I always hope that when class is over, I will see that small, cute figure running towards me and then I will jump into her arms.

"Aren't you having dinner with us today?" Qin Zhou rubbed his sleepy eyes and stretched. "I was planning to have you treat me to dinner."

"...You're making me treat you to dinner with such high-sounding words." Wen Mo shook his head. This guy is hopeless. "You and Xiao Nan go eat. I'm going to eat with someone else."

After saying that, he didn't linger any longer. He picked up his coat and walked out the door, disappearing at the end of the corridor in no time.

"He seems really happy, he's practically walking on air," Qin Zhou remarked, stroking his chin.

Meanwhile, Xiang Xiaonan had just woken up. She smacked her lips and seemed to understand something as she watched Wen Mo's departing figure.

This guy seems to have really changed a lot; I've never seen him this happy before.

Wen Mo had no idea what they were whispering about behind his back, and continued walking until he reached a small restaurant outside the school.

The first thing I saw upon entering was the three little ones sitting in the corner. Xia Lian was being held tightly in Yin Tao's arms, her eyes constantly glancing towards the door.

"You're here so early," Wen Mo greeted with a smile, sitting down next to Ye Qingzhou.

Unexpectedly, Yin Tao's gaze seemed to be filled with murderous intent as she stared straight at Wen Mo, as if she were about to humanely destroy him on the spot.

"Well……"

Wen Mo awkwardly looked away, feeling that the atmosphere was a bit strange. Yin Tao, who was usually the most lively, didn't say anything but instead glared at him with murderous eyes, repeatedly stabbing him.

"What's going on?" He moved closer to Ye Qingzhou and asked quietly, "I feel like I did something wrong, otherwise why would Yin Tao look at me like that?"

Yin Tao puffed up her cheeks like balloons, clinging tightly to Xia Lian and refusing to let go. Xia Lian also cooperated by leaning against her, her eyes filled with apology.

"Because your affair has been exposed."

"What's going on between me and Yin Tao?"

"I wasn't referring to Yin Tao." Ye Qingzhou pouted, a hint of a smile appearing on her usually indifferent face, as if she had already guessed something. "I was referring to the one she was holding in her arms."

As soon as he finished speaking, Wenmo's mind went completely blank.

What he meant by "the matter between him and Xia Lian" was probably already self-evident. Looking back at the reactions on Ye Qingzhou and Yin Tao's faces, Wen Mo swallowed hard and smiled awkwardly.

"Um... Xiao Lian, how far have you revealed this matter?"

He was the first to raise the question, and it was obvious without even thinking that something must have gone wrong on Xia Lian's side. That girl was innocent, so it was acceptable for her to occasionally let something slip.

"What do you mean by 'to what extent'? You've basically said everything!" Yin Tao said angrily.

I never imagined that the handsome man in front of me would be such a beast! Two young people living under the same roof! And it's just the two of them!

Previously, Yin Tao had always thought that Xia Lian was only temporarily staying at Wen Mo's house, and that Wen Mo's parents must also live there, so there was nothing to worry about.

It turns out that they were actually living together!

"I think I understand now." Wen Mo helplessly covered his forehead, as if he had no choice but to accept the reality before him.

But thinking about it, it makes sense; it's definitely time to make some progress.

"Xiao Lian and I are currently in a romantic relationship." Wen Mo no longer hesitated and simply went all out. Since he already knew most of what he needed to know, there was no need to hide anything anymore.

"I already knew! You two were kissing! Seriously, really... I don't even know how to describe it!"

Yin Tao held the girl in her arms tightly, treating the incident as a pitiful story of an innocent little girl being deceived by her bad cousin.

"Yin Tao, don't, scold him." Xia Lian whispered, glancing over cautiously. "Wen Mo is very good to me... I like Wen Mo."

"You're still protecting him! You're so naive, Xiao Lian." Yin Tao shook her head repeatedly, her eyes filled with sorrow.

Two people living together, both young, and perhaps even in a relationship, would have been taken advantage of long ago. It's a shame Xiao Lian is so young and cute...

sad.

"He's just lusting after you! I figured it out a long time ago!" Yin Tao glared angrily.

Wen Mo was like a primary school student caught by the teacher, bowing his head and repeatedly saying yes.

“But Wenmo did nothing to me.”

Xia Lian said blankly.

As soon as she finished speaking, the furious Yin Tao suddenly quieted down, blinking at Xia Lian in her arms, "Didn't you do anything? You didn't even do that kind of thing?"

"What do you mean by 'that kind of thing'?"

"..."
