Chapter 220 Wanting to Hug Each Other

"Ahem, alright, let's go to sleep now."

After hugging for several minutes, until they were all quite warm, Wen Mo reluctantly spoke up to remind them to part.

It's not that I don't want to keep hugging them, it's just that I'm afraid that if my parents suddenly want to get up for a drink of water or to use the restroom, they'll see the two of them hugging each other when they walk into the living room... what a scene that would be!

Is this a challenge to overcome moral transgressions? Interesting.

I accept the challenge.

"Okay, go to sleep." Xia Lian let go of his hand. The fabric of Wen Mo's clothes on his back was already wrinkled from being gripped so tightly. This was a habit of hers; whenever she hugged him, she would hold onto his clothes tightly.

After helping to smooth out the back of Xia Lian's clothes, Wen Mo led her to the guest room.

Although it's called a guest room, the room is basically the same size as the secondary bedroom, and new bedding has already been laid out. However, compared to the secondary bedroom where I usually live, the furnishings are much sparser.

Wen Mo turned on the electric blanket, adjusted it to a comfortable temperature, plopped down on the bed, pulled the covers over himself, and smiled as he reached out to embrace Xia Lian, saying, "Please, Lianbao, get under the covers."

"oh."

Xia Lian obediently pulled her feet out of her slippers, gently climbed onto the bed, tucked her legs under the covers, and sat half-upright on the bed.

"The temperature is alright. If you need to adjust it, just press the remote control next to you."

"Um."

Wenmo carefully taught her how to use the electric blanket, and after the electric blanket gradually heated up, he got up to leave the bedroom.

It's funny, after such a long time apart, the two of them only managed to sleep separately once.

When was the first time we slept in the same bed? It seems to have been the afternoon after the air conditioner repairman finished fixing it. We both drifted off to sleep in the cool temperature.

It was summer then, and before we knew it, winter had arrived.

"Is it okay for you to sleep alone? Do you need me to get you another pillow?" Wenmo asked with a smile, bringing a Pikachu plushie from his room.

I caught this at a night market when I was in junior high school, and it holds a few memories for me.

"Won't we sleep together...?"

Xia Lian blinked, her eyes widening slightly, before she realized what Wen Mo meant, and she even moved closer to him.

Wenmo didn't know how to answer. They'd been sleeping together for months, and honestly, one more day wouldn't make a difference. Besides, he felt really comfortable sleeping in each other's arms...

But the situation is different now; my parents are sleeping in the next room.

When I got up tomorrow morning and went to Wenmer's room, no one was there.

Then I went to Xia Lian's room and saw, wow, what a kid.

The cold leather belt slapped haphazardly across my face.

Although Dad knew that the two of them would sleep together occasionally, he probably wasn't that at ease.

“It really can’t be today, after all…” Wen Mo pointed to the next room and made a throat-slitting and tongue-out gesture.

Xia Lian clutched the Pikachu plush pillow, lowered her head somewhat dejectedly, and remained silent for a while.

Wenmo could read her expression, but even so, he was determined to sleep separately today.

"That's settled then, I'll head back now."

He waved and grabbed the doorknob, preparing to leave, when a muffled voice sounded behind him.

"I'm a little afraid of sleeping alone..."

Xia Lian buried her head in the Pikachu pillow and cautiously looked up at Wen Mo's back.

Wenmer opened the door, his expression seemingly hesitant.

But after a while, he pretended not to hear it, closed the door, and left.

...

The guest room was quiet. Moonlight streamed in through the window. Xia Lian hugged her Pikachu pillow tightly, her lifeless eyes revealing no emotion as she stared blankly at the dark ceiling.

I have trouble sleeping.

She tossed and turned in bed, but then realized she would mess up the bed, so she quickly and carefully smoothed out the mattress beneath her, wanting to make a good impression on her uncle and aunt.

Xia Lian knew that if she slept together tonight, she would be being too willful, so it was understandable that Wen Mo ignored her.

But I just don't want to be ignored by Wenmo.

Everything in the room felt so unfamiliar, reminding me a little of my old life, which I had spent every night like this since my mother passed away.

However, the rooms back then weren't as comfortable as they are now.

There are cushions, an electric blanket, and even the quilt is softer than before.

But without that familiar warmth, I can't fall asleep no matter what.

I've had times when I couldn't sleep.

Back then, Xia Lian would move a small stool and sit on the balcony to watch the moon. The balcony was very small, with almost no space, and she would sit there with her back against the wall for almost the entire night.

Why do I want to look at the moon?

She didn't know that she might just be looking for a way to distract herself.

Since being with Wenmo, this feeling of coldness has become very rare, so even if I sleep alone now, it won't feel too bad.

In my heart, Wenmo is like the sun.

As soon as you get close to him, an indescribable warmth will fill the surroundings, making Xia Lian almost intoxicated by it.

Turning her head to look at the silver moon outside the window, Xia Lian blinked lightly, and finally slowly closed her eyes.

It's okay to sleep alone.

As long as you sleep until daytime, you can see the sun when you open your eyes.

Bathed in the silvery moonlight, the girl gradually drifted off to sleep.

However, before she could fall asleep completely, a noise suddenly came from the door.

Xia Lian felt a little strange. The next second, a familiar figure tiptoed to the edge of the bed and nervously raised a finger to his lips.

"Shh...don't talk, or something bad might happen."
