Why is it so lively outside?
Looking around, the streets are full of pedestrians and colorful lights, and you can hear the jingling of bells from time to time.
Yin Tao, dressed in a school uniform, stood out among the many adult couples, while Ye Qingzhou, wearing an ordinary sweatshirt, looked like an adult.
"Want to go for a walk?" she asked, but she didn't have high hopes, because she knew Ye Qingzhou didn't like this kind of lively atmosphere, especially when there were many people.
But what was going on today? After a moment's thought, he surprisingly nodded, grabbed Yin Tao's collar, and walked forward, saying, "Okay, let's stroll around for a while."
There were many pedestrians, and the two walked on the far side of the street. Every now and then they would see a Santa Claus delivering gifts and playing with the children around him with a smile.
"Hey, there's a presents stand over there!" Yin Tao patted his hand and excitedly pointed to Santa Claus on the other side of the street.
Ye Qingzhou looked in the direction she was pointing and scoffed, "It has nothing to do with us. We won't get any gifts even if we go over there."
Why?
"Idiot, didn't you see that all the people surrounding him are children? It's obvious that only children can get the gifts."
Hearing this, Yin Tao lowered her eyes with a hint of disappointment, tapping her fingers together under her body. After thinking for a while, she raised her head mysteriously and whispered, "Do you think I could get a gift if I pretended to be a child?"
"You? Pretending to be a child?"
Ye Qingzhou raised an eyebrow, his gaze wandering unabashedly over her body, finally stopping at a certain part in front of her, and he shook his head with great regret.
"No, you're too big."
"Yeah, I'm already a teenager, I guess..."
I wasn't referring to age.
"..."
Yin Tao's face turned so red it looked like it could bleed. She glared at him with a mixture of shame and anger, and pulled her coat tighter around her chest.
"……abnormal!"
"Thanks."
"No need to thank me!"
The two bickered as usual. Although Ye Qingzhou seemed a bit strange today, they were still as familiar with each other when they were bickering.
Perhaps because they had been cooped up at school all day, the two of them were drawn to the lively atmosphere around them. The noisy vendors' calls, the children's crying, the couple's laughter, and all sorts of sounds mingled together.
It was very noisy and lively.
Yin Tao's gaze never left the surroundings. A quick glance at the shops around her, the aromas wafting to her nose, made her stomach rumble. "I'm a little hungry..."
After a full day of classes, before I even got home for dinner, I was already tempted by the various street food stalls.
Her voice was very soft, almost drowned out by the surrounding noise, but even so, Ye Qingzhou listened carefully, pointed to the food stall in front of him, and casually asked, "Want some?"
"Hmm? What do you want to eat?"
"Didn't you say you were hungry?"
Yin Tao was stunned, looking very embarrassed. She had only said she was hungry casually, and she didn't expect that it would be overheard, even though she was really hungry.
After a while, she grabbed Ye Qingzhou's sleeve and leaned her whole body against him, feeling the softness of his chest even through his sweater and school uniform.
"What are you doing?" Ye Qingzhou frowned slightly.
"No, I didn't do anything, I'm just a little tired," Yin Tao said innocently, but her eyes kept wandering around. "Let's go...didn't you say you were going to treat me to something?"
"I only said I'd take you out to eat, I didn't say I'd treat you."
"Ugh! So stingy!"
"Just kidding, you can buy whatever you want later, I'll pay." Feeling the warm, soft touch on his arm, Ye Qingzhou stiffened all over. Even though he was usually stern and unsmiling, he straightened up like a soldier at this moment.
The young man in the light boat stood at attention.
"Thank you, thank you..."
Yin Tao seemed to have become a different person. Normally, she would have patted Ye Qingzhou on the shoulder and thanked him with a smile.
At this moment, she was pressed close to Ye Qingzhou's side, too shy to say a word. She could feel Ye Qingzhou's arm trembling slightly, which was what made Yin Tao happiest.
Even the most aloof person would get nervous in a situation like this, huh!
Light Boat, you lecherous devil!
In the end, we settled the bill by buying two grilled sausages, one for each of us. We didn't buy any more; it was just a small treat before the main meal.
"Why is it so expensive? Four yuan for one..." Yin Tao ate the sausage in small bites, complaining about the price.
"We've already eaten it, we can't just go back on it."
Ye Qingzhou didn't care much, but now she could finally let go and have some respite.
The two walked slowly. The street was too lively. Yin Tao was wearing his school uniform, which made her feel very stuffy. She was covered in a thin layer of sweat, and the hair at the back of her neck was slightly damp.
As night deepened, they left the bustling area and headed home. After walking for a while, the two stopped in front of an apartment building.
"Alright, go on up." Ye Qingzhou waved his hand and threw the finished sausage skewer into the trash can.
"Hmm..." Yin Tao hesitated for a moment, about to enter the room, but then suddenly remembered something, unzipped her coat and handed the school uniform back, still warm from her body.
Ye Qingzhou was about to reach out to take it when the other person suddenly pulled the school uniform back, closed their eyes tightly, and shouted, "Never mind! I was sweating today... I'll give it back to you after I wash up!"
"It doesn't matter, I don't mind."
Before Yin Tao could finish speaking, Ye Qingzhou snatched her school uniform jacket, threw her schoolbag over, turned around, waved, and left.
