Sometimes it can feel very hot in winter, and thick cotton-padded clothes can keep you warm.
During their lunch break, the two didn't plan to stay at school; instead, they walked hand in hand on a quiet street.
His breath turned into white mist as he spoke, and a fine sweat appeared on Wenmo's palm.
"It can be this hot even in winter," he muttered, his eyes leisurely searching the street for something to cool him down, chatting and laughing as he searched. "Where did you put the document bag I gave you yesterday? You should take good care of it, it would be quite a hassle if you lost it."
Xia Lian blinked and gestured with her other free hand.
"It's in the closet."
"That's good, that's good. Let's take it out in a few years. Maybe we can get our marriage certificate then." Wen Mo smiled. Not far away, the door of a convenience store was open. His eyes lit up, and he pulled Xia Lian and quickly walked inside.
Entering the convenience store, Wen Mo went straight to the freezer, glancing back at the girl beside him. Her cheeks were flushed from being dressed too warmly. "Are you feeling hot?"
Xia Lian nodded. "Mm."
"Would you like a drink? It's on me."
Wen Mo spotted the rows of green-packaged coconut juice bottles at a glance, took two, paid, and handed one to Xia Lian, smiling as he said, "Here, drink this. I remember this brand of coconut juice tastes very good."
I remember this brand has been around for a while. I've been drinking it since I was a kid, and most importantly, it tastes really good.
Xia Lian took the coconut juice, her little face expressionless, her big eyes showing her usual bewilderment. She slowly unscrewed the cap, and with a "pop," a rich coconut aroma instantly filled the air.
Wen Mo tilted his head back and took a big gulp. The icy coconut juice slid down his throat, and the heat in his heart was relieved. He let out a long, pleasant sigh.
"Um?"
He looked at the girl beside him, and for some reason, Xia Lian was staring intently at the pattern on the coconut juice bottle. "Why aren't you drinking it? It won't taste good if it gets cold."
Wenmo curiously leaned closer and looked at the pattern. The woman in the pattern was dressed very provocatively, and her sexy attire seemed particularly eye-catching in the cold winter.
Hmm... a certain brand of coconut juice is performing consistently well.
I remember when I was a kid, this brand of coconut juice always had some kind of fancy trick up its sleeve.
Ancient Greek gods who governed borderline situations.
And the advertising slogan was also like that: a busty beauty holding up coconut juice and saying: I've been drinking it since I was a child.
Good grief, how can the censors tolerate this? Just take it down immediately! But after hearing their explanation, I realized they'd been drinking it since childhood.
Oh, so you've been drinking this since you were a child, right?
"This design... is still so exaggerated," Wen Mo couldn't help but complain, a slightly helpless smile on his face.
Xia Lian tilted her head and stared at the pattern for a while before saying in a flat tone, "Why is she dressed like this?" Her voice was soft, but it was exceptionally clear in the convenience store.
Wen Mo was so amused by her blunt question that he almost choked. He coughed a few times to calm himself down and whispered, "Maybe it's to attract attention so that people will want to buy this coconut juice."
Xia Lian blinked, seemingly trying to understand his words.
After a moment, she blurted out, "But won't it be cold like this?"
Her earnest expression suggested that she was genuinely worried about whether the woman in the picture would catch a cold.
Wen Mo couldn't help but burst out laughing, drawing the attention of several customers around him.
He quickly suppressed his laughter, pulled Xia Lian out of the convenience store, and reached out to rub Xia Lian's head. "Silly, this is just an advertisement image, it's not real. Besides, people get paid for shooting advertisements, and they put on clothes after the shoot, so they won't be cold."
Xia Lian said "oh," stared at the pattern for a while, and then suddenly said, "It's better to wear more clothes."
His tone was firm, as if he were announcing a major decision.
Do you even have the right to say that? You always take off your clothes at home all the time.
Looking at her serious expression, Wenmo felt a strong urge to complain. The two walked to a corner outside the convenience store and sat down.
“Many advertisements nowadays like to use this kind of exaggerated approach to attract attention,” Wen Mo patiently explained. “However, everyone’s aesthetic sense and acceptance level are different. Some people think it’s very creative, while others, like you, think it’s not appropriate.”
Xia Lian nodded as if she understood, and took another sip of coconut juice. "She's only wearing underwear."
“...Actually, that was a swimsuit,” Wen Mo said awkwardly.
After saying that, Xia Lian's gaze fell on the pattern again, her eyes still holding a hint of doubt, "A swimsuit?"
"Yes, although you may not be able to tell, it is a swimsuit."
"But it looks a lot like underwear."
"...Don't ask me about that. I don't know why clothes made of the same area of fabric have two names. It's a rule that people all over the world have."
Just like fanny packs, they are usually not worn on the waist, but rather slung across the chest. As for why they are worn this way, nobody knows, they just know that it is fashionable.
Wenmo gulped down the rest of the coconut juice. The icy liquid made him shiver all over as it entered his stomach. He could only hug his arms and rub them together to warm them up, his expression like that of a sour orange. "It's so cold it's giving me a headache..."
After rubbing his body to warm it up, he exhaled a long breath of hot air, only to find that the girl beside him was staring straight at him, her gaze clear and empty.
"Wenmo".
"Hmm? What's wrong?"
She tilted her head and pointed to her chest. "Is that a swimsuit I'm wearing?"
