Chapter 26 He's not a bad person

A commotion arose from below, as people seemed quite curious about the boy who claimed to be the student council president.

After a few seconds, the homeroom teachers spoke up one after another, and the noisy freshmen quieted down a bit, each of them opening their eyes to carefully examine Wen Mo on the stage.

As the crowd gradually quieted down, Wen Mo cleared his throat and began to read aloud from his speech.

"In this season full of hope and dreams, we gather together to welcome a brand new beginning. First of all, please allow me, on behalf of all the teachers and students of the school, to extend the warmest and most sincere welcome to the new students who have just stepped into this vibrant and intelligent campus! Your arrival...blah blah blah."

The welcoming speech for new students was very formulaic; you could find echoes of the above passage in almost every school, and Wenmo simply copied the speech provided by the school.

When everyone started to get bored, Wenmo suddenly rolled his eyes and put down the manuscript in his hand.

After slapping it onto the table, he grinned and said, "Everyone's tired of hearing this, right? I'm getting tired of reading it too. I don't even know where this draft was copied and pasted from."

As soon as he finished speaking, the freshmen were all stunned, and then they all looked at Wen Mo on the stage in surprise.

Is it really okay to just say it like that?

"This chairman is probably going to get chased and beaten up by the principal soon."

"That's quite interesting. I was getting tired of listening to scripts, and they added some flair. That's great!"

The principal, sitting next to him, looked completely unsurprised, as if he had already guessed that Wen Mo would do this.

The vice principal couldn't sit still any longer and whispered a few words, "This kid reported to you beforehand, right?"

The principal nodded slightly, looking relaxed. "He suddenly rushed into my office just now, saying he wanted to change the manuscript and give the freshmen a lesson on 'preventing school bullying'."

"You agree?"

"Isn't it great? It's so interesting!" After saying that, the principal changed his previous serious demeanor, crossed his legs and smiled brightly, "What's the use of doing formalism all the time? We never do those lousy things, and we still managed to become a provincial key school."

Looking back at the stage, Wen Mo surveyed the area, brought the microphone to his lips, and relaxed. "New students, how many of you chose to apply to this school because you think the learning atmosphere is good? Raise your hands so I can see."

After he finished speaking, the students below looked at each other, and some of them raised their hands.

"That's quite a lot. How many people chose to come to our school because they felt our school had a more relaxed atmosphere? There must be quite a few, right?"

This time, the majority of students raised their hands, and many who had already raised their hands earlier raised them again.

In an instant, most of the freshmen had raised their hands, indicating that quite a few students were applying because of the "free campus atmosphere".

"Hehe, that's exactly why I came here!" Yin Tao excitedly raised her hands.

Xia Lian, on the other hand, had been silent ever since the president started speaking, as if she had gone completely mad.

"Xia Lian, what's wrong?" Ye Qingzhou was worried about her condition, while glancing up at Wen Mo.

"Oh dear, she must be so happy because our school is so great! Right~" With that, Yin Tao put her arm around Xia Lian's shoulder and hugged her tightly.

Xia Lian blinked, and after feeling the extra weight behind her, she finally came to her senses. "Cousin..."

"Huh, Xiao Lian, what did you just say?" Yin Tao looked at her curiously.

Xia Lian shook her head, raised her eyes, and remained expressionless throughout.

"Wow, so many people raised their hands this time. It seems like most of you are applying because of the lenient school rules." Wen Mo smiled and told everyone to put their hands down.

Linchuan Middle School is known for its lax school rules.

Basically, no one will chase after you to tell you what you can't do or what you can't do. For example, there can't be trash in the trash can or books on the table. These ridiculous rules are deeply hated by contemporary students.

"To be honest, our school's motto can be summed up in one sentence: if you study well, you can do whatever you want and have a say in what you do." After saying this, Wen Mo carefully observed the reactions of the freshmen below. Most of the students were in a very excited state, and it seemed that they were really happy.

Did you all think I would say that?

Suddenly, he changed the subject, his eyes narrowed slightly, and he scrutinized all the new students below.

The change was a bit too fast, and most students were stunned and stood there, not understanding why Wenmer's attitude kept changing.

Seeing that everyone's attention was focused on him, Wen Mo raised his voice and continued speaking with a forced smile.

"It's true that our school is very open, but that doesn't mean you can do anything, like insulting teachers or bullying classmates. So, your so-called freedom can only be based on reasonable demands. Before that, don't forget that you are still just students."

"And just a reminder, while our school has a very relaxed atmosphere, we're quick to handle incidents. If you discover any bullying, I think you'll be taken to the police station, right?"

At this point, he deliberately turned around and glanced at the principal sitting behind him. Seeing that the principal had no objections, he continued, "Everyone here is almost an adult. Don't do those childish things. Be a more mature and good student."

The students below stiffened and unconsciously swallowed. Seeing everyone's reaction, Wen Mo knew that his warning had worked.
