Xia Lian, somewhat helpless, clutched the money and cast a pleading look at Wen Mo.
"If there's anything you don't know or if you need any help, just go to your cousin."
Wenmo understood that this was also a reminder to take good care of his cousin, but he would have done so even without being told.
"Thank you, Auntie."
Xia Lian thanked them crisply, clutching the banknotes in her hand tightly, which seemed to have warmed slightly.
"Okay, okay." Su Juan smiled, glancing at Wen Mo, but noticed her son's gaze was inexplicably unnatural. "What's wrong with you?"
Wen Mo shrugged and said honestly, "I'm a little envious."
Hearing this, Su Juan almost couldn't help but laugh; her son had never said anything like that before.
The next second, she reached out her other hand and placed it on Wenmo's head, "You should also live a good life, take good care of Xiaolian, but don't forget to take care of yourself."
After everything was explained, Su Juan breathed a sigh of relief and saw them off to the elevator. Just as the two were about to leave, Wen Yiquan suddenly appeared in the hallway.
"Dad? Why did you come out with us?" Wen Mo asked in surprise.
"Can't I even come to see you two off?" Wen Yiquan added irritably, while handing a bag to Wen Mo. "Take this and keep it safe."
Wen Mo was taken aback for a moment, then took the bag.
Upon opening it, a slightly worn ID card and household registration book were found inside. If you looked closely, you could vaguely make out that the person on the ID card was... Xia Lian when she was a child?
"Dad, why are you giving me this?"
"I'll need it later, so I'll leave it with you for now," Wen Yiquan said.
"Huh? You'll need it later?"
"What? Don't you know the school needs these things to process our files these days?"
Wen Mo was taken aback, then scratched his head awkwardly, "Oh, I see."
Just then, the elevator arrived, and the two cousins stepped inside, saying goodbye once again.
"So it's used at school," Wen Mo murmured to himself.
"Wenmo, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing, I just wanted to spend more time with you."
