Chapter 95 Rubbing the Belly

"I really know how to soothe kids," Wen Mo said, scratching his head.

After taking a break, he reached out and gently stroked the girl's face. Perhaps because of the fever, her usually emotionless face felt a little hot to the touch.

Xia Lian, who was already quiet by nature, became even more obedient after falling ill, like a well-behaved baby who was fast asleep, still clutching Wen Mo's clothes in her hand.

"Even when you're asleep, you're so restless." Wen Mo slowly pried her fingers open and tucked the blanket in.

After doing all this, Wen Mo tiptoed out of the bedroom, glanced back at the girl on the bed, and then went to the entrance to change his shoes.

While she's asleep, it's a good time to go out and buy things. I don't have to worry about being out for too long, as there's a small supermarket right at the entrance of the complex with a wide variety of items.

"Sanitary napkins, brown sugar... I'll also buy two pieces of ginger; I'll probably need them later." Wen Mo thought to himself as he glanced at the goods around him.

Sanitary napkins are easy to find without having to look for them; these kinds of daily necessities are usually placed in very conspicuous locations.

only……

"Damn it, how am I supposed to buy this?" Wen Mo picked up a pack of Seven Degrees Space with a headache and examined it carefully. It was clearly written in Chinese, but he just couldn't understand it.

Pure cotton, dry, leak-proof... all the functions are listed, but what do they mean, and I don't understand the differences between the various types.

People occasionally cast strange glances their way, but it didn't bother them much; they quickly looked away.

In this day and age, it has become a very common scene for men to buy sanitary napkins, who knows if they are buying them for their girlfriends or wives.

“I remember Xiao Lian uses… Ah, I found it, I found it.” Wen Mo’s eyes lit up as he found the same sanitary napkins as Xia Lian on the shelf.

Although I don't know what the function is, I shouldn't go wrong by buying the same one.

To avoid running out of supplies later, Wenmer bought several packs at once. If one pack lasts a month, then these should last for several months.

And to be honest, this thing is quite expensive, so it saves that girl the trouble of paying for it.

Brown sugar and ginger are placed in the same location; just ask the salesperson where their shelves are.

About ten minutes later, Wen Mo returned to the entrance of the community, carrying a large bag with several packs of sanitary napkins taking up the largest portion of the bag. The shop assistant had thoughtfully wrapped them in a black plastic bag.

I also bought two fever-reducing patches. Xia Lian only has a low-grade fever, so with extra care, she doesn't need any medicine.

"Alright, it's time to go home."

The bag wasn't heavy, and Wenmo carried it home quickly.

Back at his front door, Wen Mo took out his key and opened the door. He looked down and put the key back in his pocket, but the next second, the scene he saw when he looked up made him freeze for a moment.

Xia Lian had woken up at some point and was standing in front of the door with her small body, her expression seemingly a little disappointed.

What a beautiful, sickly woman!

Why did you come out?

Before Wen Mo could finish speaking, the girl moved closer and hugged him, burying her head in his chest, sniffling, and even her breathing became lighter.

"After waking up... Wenmo was nowhere to be found..."

Xia Lian's tone was full of grievance as she gently raised her head in his arms. When Wen Mo met her pitiful eyes, he felt as if his heart had been clenched.

Their bodies were pressed tightly together, and through the thin pajamas, Wenmo could even feel a little warmth.

He remained silent, put down the bag in his hand, and then picked up the girl's petite body, carrying her back to the sofa in the living room. He placed the girl's legs on his own lap, and he was practically half-lying in Wen Mo's arms.

"I'm sorry, I went out to buy some things just now, I didn't mean to scare you," he apologized guiltily.

Slightly turning to face Xia Lian, Wen Mo pulled up the girl's drooping clothes to cover her exposed shoulders.

Perhaps because of her fever, Xia Lian's body was burning hot, and it felt very comfortable to hold her in his arms. However, the embrace did not last long before Wen Mo helped her back to bed.

Having calmed the girl down, Wen Mo prepared to go to the kitchen.

“Wen Mo…” Xia Lian grabbed his sleeve and looked at him expectantly.

Wen Mo paused for a few seconds, then smiled and bent down to touch her face. "I'm going to cook something. I'll be right back. I promise I won't lie to you."

Looking at Wen Mo's face so close to hers, Xia Lian couldn't help but move a little closer, then slightly raised her chin and rubbed her cheek against his.

Feeling the softness on his face, Wen Mo did not stop her. If doing so would make Xia Lian feel at ease, then he would let her be.

It wasn't until a full minute had passed that the girl finally let go of his clothes, though her gaze still seemed somewhat reluctant.

"I'm just going to the kitchen, I'll be right back."

After saying that, Wenmo turned and left the bedroom.

He took out the brown sugar and ginger he had just bought and went into the kitchen to start researching how to make brown sugar water. If he really didn't know how, he would find a tutorial to follow.

After all the initial steps were completed, Wen Mo returned to his room to talk to Xia Lian. The pot of brown sugar water would be ready in about 10 minutes.

It's said that people's appearance improves when they have a cold or fever. At first, Wen Mo didn't believe it, until he saw the girl in front of him with her bright eyes becoming a little hazy, and her originally cool face gaining a touch of sickly frailty.

Hmm... she really does look better now.

"Xiao Lian, does your stomach still hurt?" Wen Mo asked with concern, moving a chair to sit on the edge of the bed.
