"well……?"
Xia Lian, who was about to comfort him, was stunned and didn't understand how he had gotten involved with her.
"Is it okay? Is it okay? Is it okay?"
Wen Mo approached step by step until he pushed her against the wall, his smiling eyes staring straight at Xia Lian in front of him.
Xia Lian blinked. Although she didn't understand why she had to meow like a cat, she wasn't against it if Wen Mo liked it. In fact, she would do whatever Wen Mo liked.
"Okay." Xia Lian nodded, showing no reluctance whatsoever, and even moved closer to Wen Mo's body in a very agreeable manner.
Wenmo patted her head.
That feels good.
This girl is so easy to fool. That story isn't fake; it's based on Wenmo's real childhood experience. However, there's one difference: he brought a cat home to raise when he was a child.
Dad was definitely against it, but Mom agreed, so that's fine.
It's been about six years now, and the cat is still at my parents' house. I originally wanted to bring it with me when we moved, but my mom absolutely refused and insisted on keeping the cat with her and raising it herself.
When Wen Mo took her cousin home to meet her parents last time, she originally wanted to bring the cat out for her to see, but unfortunately the cat was taken downstairs to play by the neighbor's child. Later, Wen Mo forgot about it and only remembered that Xia Lian hadn't seen the cat when she left the community.
“Actually, I’ve thought you look like a cat for a long time.” Wen Mo gently stroked her head, then looked around and noticed that she had already attracted a lot of attention.
He then took Xia Lian's hand and prepared to continue in a secluded place.
"Do I look like a cat?"
"Yes, they look very similar."
Thinking back on my time with my cousin, it really reminds me of cats. They look cold and aloof when they're expressionless, but they turn cuddly and soft as soon as you pet their heads.
Every time he touches his head, he squints his eyes, revealing an undisguised expression of satisfaction, and even makes a "gurgling" sound.
This girl has a peculiar habit: she likes to rub her face against Wen Mo, especially when she's sleeping, she always presses her face against his arm and rubs it gently a couple of times.
Just like now.
"You really like rubbing your face against people." Wen Mo looked down at Xia Lian, who was pressed against his arm, her soft, tender face.
Upon hearing this, Xia Lian shook her head vigorously, "I only like Wen Mo... so I want to spend more time with Wen Mo."
"Well, this is actually a good thing."
His arm was a little itchy, but he liked it.
My cousin always does some inexplicable things, but after spending more time with her, you realize that she's just expressing her affection.
"Didn't you want to learn how to meow like a cat?" Xia Lian suddenly asked, clearly not forgetting what had just happened, and even repeatedly reminding Wen Mo.
"Don't rush, let's find a secluded place."
Wen Mo responded, feeling inexplicably nervous, especially when the phrase "a place where no one is around" was mentioned; it sounded like he was about to do something bad.
He knew there was a small park nearby, but it was freezing cold, so there probably wouldn't be anyone there.
When I arrived, the place was deserted, with only a few benches standing there alone, and not a single person in sight.
"This is pretty much it. Now it's just the two of us."
Wenmo suddenly felt that he was being a bit crazy, running to such a freezing place just to hear a cat meow.
But after patting his head, he cleared his head a bit and looked somewhat expectant.
Xia Lian stopped and obediently let go of his sleeve. Her clear eyes revealed no emotion, but her face showed only infinite tenderness towards Wen Mo.
Just as she was about to speak, her pupils twitched slightly, as if she had discovered something.
"Wenmo, can you close your eyes?" Xia Lian asked, swaying back and forth, standing about two steps away from Wenmo.
"Oh? Oh, of course."
Wen Mo didn't pay any attention, simply assuming that his cousin was just shy.
After closing my eyes, everything went completely black.
His heart tightened, and even his breathing slowed for a few seconds, until a few seconds later, he heard an unusually real voice in his ear:
Meow~
"Wow?! You imitated it so well?!"
Wen Mo was startled. He really didn't expect this girl to have a talent for meowing like a cat. Perhaps he could train her to become a voice actress in the future.
However, when he opened his eyes, he couldn't see Xia Lian's face. Instead, he saw a black cat being held in front of the girl, obscuring her face.
"Well……"
Wen Mo scratched his face, momentarily confused, but one thing was certain: the voice actor for that meow was not Xia Lian, but the cat in her arms.
Xia Lian peeked her head out from behind the cat, gently cradled it in her arms, and looked innocent.
"Kitty."
"Yes, I saw it."
Wen Mo leaned closer, reached out and squeezed the cat's paw, shaking it up and down a couple of times. "You must be a stray cat, you're so skinny."
The black cat's body was shorter than half an arm of Wen Mo's, and its physique could be described as extremely thin. Xia Lian even felt a bit uncomfortable holding it in her arms.
"Where did you find this cat? I gave it to you for free."
Upon hearing this, Xia Lian looked at the small bushes next to Wen Mo. The black cat had been lying there, and she had only noticed it when she heard the rustling sound.
"It's... a stray cat?"
"It should be, otherwise it wouldn't be so thin, plus..." Wen Mo stopped talking and didn't continue, but couldn't help taking a few more glances. This cat really was completely black.
