Chapter 30 We Are a Romance Novel

Chapter 30 We Are a Romance Novel

When the two of them ran to the gate of the community, Shen Xiyu said she would not do anything else and said that if they ran again, she would hold Liang Qi still and no one would be able to return home tonight.

Liang Qi seemed to be truly tired of the girl and stopped running, but he didn't let go of her sleeve. He resumed his usual leisurely pace.

"Is today's movie good?" Shen Xiyu suddenly had an idea and asked Liang Qi.

"It's great." Liang Qi recalled the movie, but the first thing that came to mind was the tear he'd just seen Shen Xiyu shed. He continued, "But is it really possible to have a secret crush on someone for so many years and not tell them?"

"I don't know either." This question was exactly the same as what Shen Xiyu had thought of when he first saw it. "But I can't just sit there silently like that. How should I put it? It's that kind of hopeless love."

"Me too." Liang Qi completely agreed with Shen Xiyu's point of view. "If it were me, I would definitely let the other party know."

Shen Xiyu felt that Liang Qi was looking at him, and realized that this topic was not suitable to be discussed between the two of them who had an ambiguous relationship.

"That's why other people's stories can be made into beautiful literary films, while ours might just be a cheesy romance novel at best." She pretended to casually pull back her sleeves.

When Liang Qi saw his empty hand, he was stunned for a moment, but did not make any other moves.

"Art films have their own way of being made, romance novels have their own way of being written, and we also have our own way of living." Liang Qi put his hands in his pockets.

Shen Xiyu subconsciously wanted to find something to refute him, but after thinking for a long time, he had to admit that what he said made a lot of sense.

She raised her hands in surrender. "You win."

**

Liang Qi didn't come to school for the next few days.

Christmas is here again. Although the school has repeatedly forbidden students from celebrating foreign holidays, students don’t actually have that strong a desire for Christmas. They just want to use this as an excuse to relax.

After all, after returning from the National Day holiday, the usual noise in the classroom has become much quieter.

Even Old Fangtou sometimes walked lightly when entering the classroom.

One day, Qin Yiyan told them that he found that Old Fangtou had replaced his old leather shoes that made a lot of noise with sneakers. Several people burst into laughter, and at the end of the laughter, an indescribable emotion filled their hearts.

When Shen Xiyu went out in the morning, she pulled out a dark red Fair Isle sweater from the closet. It was a gift from her mother when she first started her freshman year of high school.

An Jiangxiang is the most beautiful woman that Shen Xiyu considers himself to have ever seen. That kind of beauty is not just on the surface, but the pampered and noble feeling that comes from her bones. Zhang Zhi and others sometimes tease her for having the temper of a young lady, but Shen Xiyu knows that she is simply not the type of person who likes to compromise or swallow her anger.

And her mother was a truly free woman, so free that Shen Xiyu felt a little wronged about her.

Shen Xiyu had never met her grandparents, having only heard of them from others. They were once famous calligraphers in Jiangcheng. When she was in elementary school, she secretly searched their names online and eventually found a memorial hall housing their works. However, she was without a guardian at the time, so she couldn't buy a ticket to enter. Later, when she was in high school and old enough to visit, she never again felt the urge to do so.

An Jiangxiang is also a person with a strong artistic and romantic atmosphere. Chen Xiyu often feels that he is so pretentious because he inherited her. She dares to go to the pyramids in Egypt alone, but does not dare to stay in the old house with her daughter.

Later, Shen Xiyu realized that they were just ordinary people. Compared with happy families, they seemed broken and pitiful. But compared with poor families, they could be considered wealthy.

I'm just an ordinary person with nothing to complain about and nothing to show off.

An Jiangxiang was a spoiled child who didn't know how to be a mother. Shen Xiyu forgave her because she was also very pitiful.

When she finally grew up a little, An Jiangxiang brought back a man and a brother. Chen Xiyu felt that these could keep her and help them get rid of the hidden pain that had been lingering for so many years like rheumatism.

But fate is so cruel that An Jiangxiang never learned how to love her child. She added a shadow to Shen Xiyu's life that followed him everywhere but he never showed it.

When closing the door, Shen Xiyu looked across and saw no movement. She thought Liang Qi probably wouldn't go today.

Shen Xiyu raised his foot and walked towards the elevator. After taking a few steps, he was grabbed by the back of the collar.

She knew without even thinking that Liang Qi was ambushing her here. She raised her foot and kicked back, but Liang Qi dodged sideways with a smile.

"You got up so early today?" Shen Xiyu asked him.

Liang Qi took out a paper bag from his schoolbag and said, "These are the latest corn tarts baked by the dessert shop downstairs."

"I don't know when the new products will be available." Shen Xiyu raised his hand to take it.

"I saw it when I came back last night." Liang Qi followed the girl, "But the last one was bought by a middle school student."

Probably freshly baked, as Shen Xiyu opened the package, white mist drifted out, steaming her face. The egg tarts looked great, with rows of slightly burnt corn on top of the crispy crust.

Shen Xiyu walked around behind Liang Qi, but he didn't move forward anymore. Instead, he stood still and watched what Shen Xiyu was going to do.

The girl unzipped her schoolbag, resealed the egg tart and threw it in. "Eat it on the way to school. It will get cold quickly on the way." She noticed that Liang Qi had tied the puppy pendant he bought in Shangri-La to his schoolbag.

"There are not many books in your schoolbag every day." After packing, the two continued to rush to school side by side. Shen Xiyu just noticed that there was basically nothing in Liang Qi's schoolbag. If you didn't know, you would think that he would not come back after sending Shen Xiyu to school.

“It’s just all in my head.”

Shen Xiyu felt that his words were really unnecessary.

When they arrived at the classroom, there was a beautifully wrapped apple in each of their desk pockets.

Shen Xiyu knew at first glance that it was Dai Meng's work. She had given them to several people last Christmas. Both she and Shen Xiyu liked these beautiful but impractical gadgets.

Shen Xiyu recalled that last year, when Chen Ningzhou heard them say that they sold a packaged apple for thirty yuan, he almost wanted to scold them. This thing looked good, but it was essentially just an apple, and they all thought that selling it for three yuan was a face-saving measure for Christmas.

She couldn't help laughing.

"Who gave this to you?" Liang Qi was playing with an apple in his hand. Seeing Chen Xiyu laughing there, he asked, "What are you laughing at?"

Shen Xiyu thought you asked so many questions, but he still answered them one by one, "Dai Meng bought it, who among them could be so thoughtful." He turned his head and looked, and Dai Meng and the others were not in the class.

She turned around and continued, "As for why I'm laughing...you don't need to know."

Liang Qi:?

Liang Qi doesn't like apples, and his family doesn't celebrate Christmas, so he left the package unopened, thinking about how he could save the outer packaging. The wrapping paper was indeed beautiful.

"Thank her for me." Liang Qi said to Shen Xiyu. He actually didn't expect Dai Meng to bring one for him.

"Okay, I see." Shen Xiyu stuck his head out and wanted to look around the corridor to see if there were any of them.

"Come back." Liang Qi easily lifted her back.

The air conditioner was on in the classroom. Shen Xiyu had taken off his coat when he came in, and now he was just wearing a sweater and sticking out.

Shen Xiyu silently complained in her heart, her "mother-like personality" was online again.

*

During the physical education class today, the physical education teacher repeatedly told us to stay in the gymnasium and not to go outside to have fun. If we get cold, it will not be worth it.

Their physical education classes this semester were already symbolic and were often occupied by teachers of various subjects. When they finally had a class, the physical education teacher no longer asked them to run laps or do exercises, but simply dismissed them on the spot and let them play.

The physical education teacher was sitting in the stands. He saw that the students still rushed outside after he emphasized the matter. He did not get angry. He raised his mobile phone and happily took a picture of their backs.

After taking the photos, I admired my work again and again, and couldn't help but sigh that I have a really high talent for photography...

Shen Xiyu and his group were the first to rush out, because based on their previous experience in physical education classes, they could go out as long as their physical education teacher didn't block the door.

After several days of intermittent snowfall outside, a thick layer of snow has accumulated.

Qin Yiyan put his arm around Liang Qi's shoulder and said, "Old Liang, do you know why we came out?"

Liang Qi raised his eyelids and glanced at him. He knew what Qin Yiyan's fart smelled like and would not be fooled at all.

He tilted his neck back, and the snowball that was supposed to fall on his head hit Zhang Zhi's head accurately.

Zhang Zhi held his head and locked onto the murderer, and soon spotted Qin Yiyan who was hiding under Liang Qi's arm and laughing.

He made a "hush" gesture to the people around him.

He went around behind Qin Yiyan and poured a mouthful of snow into his neck.

"Wc! Zhier, wait for me to fuck you to death!" Qin Yiyan was startled by the cold snow on his neck.

In the end, no one knew who hit whom by mistake, and maybe no one cared, so it inexplicably turned into a big melee among several people.

Someone threw a handful of snow into Liang Qi's collar. He stood aside and unzipped his coat to let the snow shake out.

"You are told to wear so little, it will get into your clothes if it is hit a little bit." Shen Xiyu walked up to him without knowing when, tossing a snowball back and forth in his hand, looking malicious.

Liang Qi didn't care. He was quite cold-resistant, and since he had been moving around a lot, he didn't feel that cold. "Why, are you worried about me?"

Chen Xiyu seemed to have heard something out of the blue. "What? I'm just legitimately concerned, because I was the one who threw the snowball at you."

Just now, she jumped up and hit the target with a bullet, but she didn't expect that it would hit Liang Qi's clothes. She knew that Liang Qi always wore thin clothes, so she still felt a little guilty.

Liang Qi grabbed a handful of snow and pretended to throw it at the girl, "Okay, I knew it was you."

But he didn't even intend to throw it over. Seeing Shen Xiyu subconsciously protecting her head, he was about to open his mouth to tease her.

A snowball thrown from the side hit Shen Xiyu's calf, and she fell suddenly towards Liang Qi. Liang Qi had almost caught her, but before he could stand firmly, he was tripped by a stone behind him. In the end, no one could hold on, and both of them fell into the grass behind them.

When she fell in the grass, Shen Xiyu's mind was blank, because as luck would have it, her lips were tightly pressed against Liang Qi's collarbone.
