Gu Tingchen frowned as a piercing pain came over him. When the pain eased, Ye Wanshu suddenly pulled back her hand and angrily slapped him in the face.
"No matter how hateful he is, he is still better than you. At least he is still a human being with a human heart."
Although she hated Gu Tingzhou, she never wanted to treat him so viciously.
Just as she was about to turn around and go to the city wall to support Gu Tingzhou, she was pulled back by Gu Tingchen again, forcibly pulled into his arms, and held her neck tightly.
"I said he doesn't deserve to appear in front of you again."
Gu Tingchen snatched a bow in anger, forced her hand to the string, and pointed it at Gu Tingzhou who had just gotten up: "If you hate someone, you should make him disappear from your sight forever."
Seeing the bow being drawn and the sharp arrow about to shoot towards Gu Tingzhou, Ye Wanshu used all her strength to break free from his arms and stood upright in front of Gu Tingchen.
"Gu Tingchen, there is no one in this world more hateful than you."
Ye Wanshu glared at him with eyes as cold as a pond. "I will not marry you. I never want to marry you again in this life. Today, you either kill me or let me go."
Gu Tingchen was so angry that he was burning with rage. He pointed the arrow at Ye Wanshu and the bowstring hissed as he pulled it, but he never dared to let go.
"Gu Tingchen, is this what you mean by treating Wanwan well?"
Gu Tingzhou leaned against the wall and snorted coldly: "Do you know what you are doing now?"
"Why, big brother, are you trying to boss me around and teach me how to do things again?"
Gu Tingchen's eyes were filled with anger as he shouted at Gu Tingzhou, "I'm warning you, you've already broken off your engagement with Wanwan. Stay away from her."
After saying this, he suddenly dropped the bow and looked back at Ye Wanshu with a smile: "Wanwan, I know what you just said was just angry words. We are getting married tomorrow, and no one can disturb us before then. Come back with me."
As he spoke, he picked her up and ordered Liu Zhang, "Lock the eldest son in the dungeon and don't let him out without my permission."
"Gu Tingchen, let me go."
Ye Wanshu found his arrogant behavior increasingly unreasonable. She struggled in his arms, but he held her tighter and tighter, almost suffocating her.
Seeing Liu Zhang walking by, Ye Wanshu suddenly pulled out the sword from his waist and stabbed it directly into Gu Tingchen's chest and abdomen.
Gu Tingchen spat out a mouthful of hot blood and looked at the woman in his arms in shock, with an expression of disbelief.
Feeling that the strength of his arm had weakened a little, Ye Wanshu quickly broke free from him and pointed the shining knife at his neck.
"Young Master."
Liu Zhang was so frightened that his face turned pale. He hurried forward to support Gu Tingchen. Archers from all directions also aimed their arrows at Ye Wanshu.
"Asshole, who gave you permission to aim your arrow at my cousin?"
Gu Tingchen shouted angrily, and the crossbowmen looked at each other in confusion, and had to slowly put down their crossbows.
"Wanwan, do you really hate your cousin so much?" Gu Tingchen covered his chest tightly with a painful expression.
Ye Wanshu pressed the sword to his neck and sternly said, "I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore. Let me go immediately."
Gu Tingchen was not afraid at all. He pushed Liu Zhang away and moved closer to her step by step, staying close to the knife edge.
Seeing blood oozing from his neck, Ye Wanshu's sword-holding hand suddenly trembled: "Gu Tingchen, don't force me."
Gu Tingzhou was also frightened and said angrily, "Gu Tingchen, why are you forcing Wanwan so hard?"
"Shut up."
Gu Tingchen roared at him and continued to approach Ye Wanshu. "Wanwan, there is no one in this world who loves you more than I do. Everything I do is for you. I just said that if you hate someone, you should make them disappear forever. Since you hate me so much, then kill me. It is my destiny to die under your sword."
Ye Wanshu frowned speechlessly.
Thinking of all the cold treatment he had shown her in her previous life, she really wanted to stab the bastard to death with a sword, but the yard was full of archers. If she killed him, how would she be able to walk out alive?
Just when I was feeling troubled, a series of earth-shaking sound of iron hooves suddenly rang out, breaking the tranquility of the night.
"Fu Mingchi." Ye Wanshu called out in her heart.
She guessed that it must be Fu Mingchi's Yuezhou Army that had arrived.
While Gu Tingchen was still trying to get closer to her, she quickly glanced around and saw that the small door had been tightly closed and was filled with soldiers, leaving her with nowhere to escape.
Without waiting for Gu Tingchen to react, Ye Wanshu dropped her sword and quickly stepped up the stone steps behind her.
"Wanwan."
Seeing the person in red clothes running up the city wall with her sleeves fluttering in the night wind, Gu Tingchen was stunned. He quickly grabbed a handkerchief to cover his neck and chased after her, enduring the severe pain in his chest.
Ye Wanshu climbed up the city wall and looked at the flames rising into the sky in the distance, almost lighting up half of the sky. The eye-catching banner of the Yongning Palace melted her cold heart instantly, as exciting as if she had seen the dawn.
Although she was clearly wary of the three words "King Yongning", at this moment, she longed to see them more than ever before.
Rows of soldiers surged towards the bottom of the city wall like a tide. Ye Wanshu lifted her skirt and ran madly towards the city wall. She didn't know where she got the strength from, but she soon put a long distance between herself and Gu Tingchen.
"Wanwan, it's useless. Even the Yongning Palace's army will have a hard time entering the Pacification Commissioner's Office. Don't waste your energy."
Gu Tingchen shouted at her: "Come back with me."
Ye Wanshu no longer had the heart to pay attention to him at this time. She just kept looking into the distance, waiting for that familiar figure to appear in the crowd.
The flags fluttered, making a whistling sound in the night wind. Following the flags to the center of the army formation, Fu Mingchi's tall and slender figure came into view.
