Chapter 1007 Girls

This is the room where Yunluo and An Qingjue live - Room 28:

Full of mystery. At this moment, everyone stares intently, holding their breath, fearing that the beautiful scenery will pass by in a flash. The incense is intertwined with the sinking sunset, the hazy boulders, and the rough red soil underfoot. People drink it in one gulp, solidifying everything in front of them in an indelible memory.

The last trace of red on the horizon was also drawn away, and the sky was filled with stars. When we got on the bus, the laughter and joy we had when we came here disappeared, as if everyone was still immersed in the day's experience. When we woke up, the bus had arrived at the edge of Alice Springs, and the clock had passed midnight.

The land of Uluru-Katatjuta National Park, where Uluru and Kata Tjuta are located, is now owned by the local Aboriginal people. After countless years of hard work and negotiations, in 1985, Sirinian Stephen, then Governor-General of Australia, returned the land to the local Aboriginal people - Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjajara. In return, the land was leased to the federal government for 99 years (the same time as Kowloon and New Territories in Yunluo and Anqingju were leased to the British). Now, the national park is jointly managed by the local Aboriginal people and white people, with the white people serving as the chairman of the board and the local Aboriginal people serving as vice chairman.

Because it is located at the intersection of the Stuart Highway that runs through the north and south of the Australian continent and the Lasseter Highway that goes to Uluru and the Valley of the Kings (also known as the Valley of the Kings), this hotel has a large parking lot. There is a parking lot outside the window of Yunluo and An Qingju's room. A pickup truck was parked in front of Yunluo and An Qingju's window last night. When Yunluo and An Qingju got up early this morning, the pickup truck had already driven away. What hardworking Australians are:

The big tour bus from Alice Springs has arrived. Yunluo and An Qingju will take this bus to visit Kata Tjuta (Kata Tjuta, also known as Olags in English) today.

and Uluru (Uluru is the name of the rock by the local indigenous people, and its English name is Ayers Rock). The big car was driven by two drivers who were also tour guides. The tour guides were very dedicated and the wheels were almost non-stop along the way. They kept talking and their language was very humorous, which made everyone laugh from time to time. Yunluo really didn't know where they got so much to say. Unfortunately, their accents were too heavy. And they all used local slang and dialect, so Yunluo couldn't understand what they said:

Yunluo and An Qingjue did not walk to the end. When they saw the exit of the canyon, they turned back because the map showed that the road ended at the exit of the canyon, and the tour guide only gave Yunluo and An Qingjue half an hour to walk this distance (Yunluo and An Qingjue returned in time, but the latest guest returned about 45 minutes later).

Yunluo discovered that it was not only the Chinese people who thought that taking photos of people would take away their souls and bring them inexplicable disasters. Foreign indigenous peoples also had the same taboo. The row was not facing cultural relics, but only facing some signboards. For example, Yunluo wanted to take a photo of the temperature and sunrise and sunset times shown on the signboard, or take photos in the inner courtyard, but was told not to! Yunluo could only take a few photos when the management staff were not paying attention.

The color of Uluru in the twilight will change strangely as the sun sets (but this change is very fast, only about 5 minutes, especially when the upper half is still red and the lower half is already purple, it only takes 1 or 2 minutes, so you must seize the opportunity to take pictures and don't miss this spectacular and magical moment.

1. Yunluo found that the tour buses of travel agencies in the Northern Territory (including Alice Springs and Darwin) would bring ice water in thermos buckets, so Yunluo and An Qingju could always go and refill their empty bottles with water. So Yunluo and An Qingju only needed to bring the bottles with them, and they didn't have to worry about running out of water.

2. Please note that there are no toilets on the Uluru walking trail, so you should go to the toilet next to the Uluru Aboriginal Cultural Information Center before going on the tour. You can only go to the toilet here after the tour.

3. The color of Uluru in the twilight will undergo a strange change as the sun sets, but the change is very fast, only about 5 minutes, especially when the upper half is still red and the lower half is purple, which is only 1 or 2 minutes. Therefore, you must seize the opportunity to take pictures and don't miss this spectacular and magical moment.

I bought a small bottle of Coke when I bought a postcard at Oaks, and they asked for 31 yuan! It's really expensive. In China, you can buy it for only 4 yuan at most!

This morning I slept comfortably, which was a rare occasion during my trip to Australia. I slept very well, but the consequence of sleeping in was that I only ate the tail end of the free breakfast provided by the hotel. Although the breakfast in the hotel was not very good, for this kind of backpacker hostel, the room rate also includes free breakfast, which is really rare. Although their room rate is so expensive, it is at least a discount, and it is also the advantage of this hostel compared to other backpacker hostels that this hostel vigorously promotes (after all, most backpacker hostels do not include breakfast).

Under the huge frangipani tree in the hotel courtyard, on the wooden table beside the swimming pool, Yunluo and Anqingju ate milk and juice, fruit and bread that they had bought at the local supermarket the night before.

Yunluo has seen frangipani trees in many places around the world, but never seen such a large frangipani tree:

Several foreign young people chatting by the swimming pool - This hotel is mainly occupied by young people from other cities in Australia. After all, July and August are winter in Australia. The main cities and population centers in Australia are all in the south, and it is still quite cold there. When Yunluo and An Qingjue came from Adelaide before, it was still hailing there. It is also the school holiday now, and many young students come here for vacation and stay in this kind of e (backpacker hotel). After all, compared with other hotels in Darwin, this place is still cheap and good, and you can cook all three meals for free using the hotel's gas stove. Yunluo has seen a big boy who looked like a student cooking on the gas stove in the kitchen.

Then Yunluo and An Qingju set off to the waterfront west of Darwin city center. From the E where Yunluo and An Qingju lived, they walked north along the main street of Dawin for fifty or sixty meters, and arrived at the intersection with Daly St. (a few hundred meters east from this intersection is the northernmost end of the famous Stuart Highway that runs across the north and south of the Australian continent). Yunluo and An Qingju walked west from this intersection for about fifty meters and arrived at the west coast of Darwin City. There was a wide road on the shore facing the Ephraim Park (Bicentennial Park). The scenery near the entrance of Daly St.:

To the north of the beach at this entrance is a tourist facility where tourists can feed fish. Tourists can stand barefoot on the beach and feed the small fish that swim up with the tide. However, this is open according to the different tide times every day. Because Yunluo and Anqingju left late, it was almost 12:25 when they arrived here, so they could not go in:

This bird with a long curved beak can be seen everywhere in Australia. Its name is the origin of the name of the budget hotel chain "Ibis" under the OR Group). Yunluo and An Qingju later saw the name of this bird on a sign in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney:

We continued walking south, hoping to reach the famous breakwater (Stokes Breakers) on the southern coast of Darwin. However, when we reached the end, we found that this place was still a construction site, where a large seaside shopping and leisure center was being built. So, except for a large dock, there were no other facilities. So when Yunluo and An Qingju reached the dock, they found that there was no way out and had to go back. Fortunately, the city itself was not big, and they came to a fork in the road after walking back a short distance. (To be continued...)
