Looking around, there were wailing sounds one after another, and the scene was in a mess. More than half of the people had lost in this game with the sea. Fortunately, Yunluo was in good health and often participated in sports such as "triathlon", so he did not fall down.
(In fact, the boat rocked much more violently than in the inland sea, and I still felt quite dizzy. Fortunately, I arrived later. If it had been 15 minutes longer, Yunluo would have gloriously joined the army of seasick people.)
Later I asked the staff and found out that every time more than half of the people up to 23 would fall down. Today, because it was a "sunny day", fewer people fell down.
If it rains or has strong winds, the waves on the sea will be much bigger than today. Hearing this, I couldn't help but take a deep breath. I have to admit that it is indeed sunny and windy today, but this is only for the shore or the inland sea. I personally feel that there is almost no wind.
But when it reaches the open sea, its power increases suddenly, which shows the power of nature and the insignificance of human beings.
As they were talking, the boat finally arrived at An Qingju and Yun Luo's destination for today: the Great Barrier Reef snorkeling platform. Except for the "seriously injured" people, everyone managed to pull themselves together and come to the platform. The platform was still quite stable, as if they were back on shore.
Looking at the clear water and enjoying the warm sunshine, people instantly regained their vitality. Yunluoan Green Orange also "photosynthesized" for about 10 minutes.
The sea lovers changed their clothes at high speed and jumped into the sea, enjoying the joy of "surviving the disaster".
Snorkeling in the area designated by the platform is a very pleasant and safe thing, because there is a large safety net around it to protect every snorkeler from the attack of ferocious marine animals. And the scope of this net is very large, enough to allow everyone to fully experience the fun of free activities.
Of course, there are still dangers, the Great Barrier Reef is actually a coral reef, so corals can be seen everywhere, which is where it looks prominent in the photo.
In fact, this is only part of it. More corals are actually underwater. Although corals look beautiful, they are very sharp, so you must not have "close contact" with corals or even stand on them. It is probably because every time tourists ignore the potential dangers because of the beautiful scenery in front of them and get injured, the staff on the "shore" repeatedly shout loudly.
Some are happy while others are sad. Different from the laughter and joy of the people here, on the other side of the platform, a pre-war mobilization is going on: "The wind is whistling and the Yishui River is cold, and the warriors will never return once they leave." Four "warriors" put on their diving suits and, after a brief training by the coach, are ready to go into the water for a deep dive.
It may not be obvious in the photo, but the scene is like this: they changed clothes quickly, listened to the instructor's diving knowledge, and looked cool. But when they put on the oxygen tank and started to try to breathe, their nervous expressions and large, rapid breaths betrayed them! This is not the most important thing. When the change of clothes was completed, the instructor shouted: are you ready?!
No one dared to answer, haha. The helpless coach had to come over to help them stand up - walk - get on the speedboat - get off the water. In fact, it was only a few steps to the speedboat, but the feeling on the scene was extremely slow, like going to the execution ground, which was really interesting.
Of course, I have to say that these four people are quite brave. Yunluo remembered that when they registered on the ship, there were at least 20 people.
It can be seen that the previous "vomiting incident" had a great impact on everyone's physiology and psychology. While PF Yunluo was "foresighted", BS also used JS's money-making strategy. If you go too early, you will pay for it because you don't appreciate the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. If you go too late, you will give up because of insufficient HP and MP. So timing is very important, hey.
I remember that diving in Yunluo was about 180 to 220 yuan per person (I can't remember the exact price), and the helicopter price was about the same.
Most of them are couples. If there are two people, one activity costs 2600 RMB (based on 200 people and the exchange rate of 6.5 at that time). If you pay for both activities, more than 5000 yuan will be thrown into the sea in an instant. So, impulse is the devil. There is still a big gap between ideal and reality, haha.
All right. After lamenting the truth that JS knows no national boundaries, An Qingjue and Yunluo came to the landing point of the semi-submarine ship and waited. Because An Qingjue and Yunluo calculated the time well, the ship came over in a short while.
As the name suggests, the cabin of this ship is similar to the submarine that An Qingjue and Yun Luo are familiar with. The reason it is called a semi-submarine is because only the cabin is underwater, unlike a "submarine" which can submerge the entire hull into the water.
OK, let's get on board. The moment I entered the cabin, I felt quite special. The interior was relatively small, with transparent glass on both sides for viewing the "ocean world" outside.
It's time to return. An Qingju hid in the cabin for fear of getting seasick again. Yunluo, on the other hand, was in such good physical condition, so he naturally seized the advantageous terrain outside and used his camera to fully record this beautiful place (in fact, there was no need to rush on the way back, because after getting seasick on the way here, most people were like Yunluo and An Qingju, hiding in the cabin and not daring to look at the sea).
After about an hour's return journey, An Qingju and Yunluo finally returned to land. It was the first time they felt how wonderful it was to be "down to earth".
Lord An Qingjue almost "kissed the ground", haha. Fortunately, An Qingjue and Yunluo's hotel was just opposite, so they were lucky. They supported An Qingjue and returned to the hotel together. They didn't plan any other activities and had a good sleep. They reserved their energy for tomorrow's "climbing mountains and wading rivers".
1) Lunch. The boat ticket includes lunch, which includes rice, curry chicken, seafood, beef, etc. Drinks, coffee, hot tea, and fruits are also available. The quantity is OK, but the quality is not good. It is just enough to fill you up, but it is definitely not good, and the level is below average.
2) Helicopter: It usually takes off from the outer reef snorkeling platform, and flies around for 10 minutes. The fee is 220 yuan per person, with a maximum of 2 people per flight.
Friends who are seasick can also take a helicopter directly from the pier to the platform. It seems that there are 390 to 420 people (note that it is a one-time trip). If you want to go back, you have to pay again.
It's no different from robbing money. However, friends who are really seasick suggest to negotiate a package price with them on the shore. Yunluo also found out later that they can also negotiate the price (of course, you don't have to go to the ticket hall to buy tickets, that is the original price). I heard that there is no problem for 600~700 people to go back and forth (it's still expensive).
Many people on the same ship had fully experienced the difficulties of being a "sailor" on the way here, and they refused to take the ship even if it meant getting slapped with a beep on the return trip. However, they had not negotiated the price beforehand, so they had to take a heavy cut on the return trip, which they considered as paying for medical expenses.
However, if you take a helicopter back and forth, in addition to feeling relaxed and being able to see beautiful scenery that others cannot see, you can also avoid the fatigue of traveling by boat and car, and save time (it takes about 15 minutes for the helicopter to reach the platform), which is quite good (remember to start negotiating the package price)
3) You may say that this is too expensive. Once again, I want to justify the Great Barrier Reef, whether it is the so-called 180-passenger boat ticket or the 400-plus-passenger helicopter ticket.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
The price is the price you paid for using someone else's boat or helicopter. The Great Barrier Reef itself does not cost a dime for tickets. In other words, as long as you have a boat or plane or other means (swim or fly) to reach the Great Barrier Reef, you do not need to pay for tickets. The Australian government has also made considerable efforts in this regard, which is a world of difference from the hundreds of tickets charged by some dynasties.
4) Many people go to Cairns because of the Great Barrier Reef. In fact, if you go there just for this purpose, I believe 90% of people will be disappointed. According to the locals, if you come to Cairns and spend money on various activities (helicopters, skydiving, hot air balloons, rafting, diving, etc.), you will definitely find it fun because your senses will be strongly stimulated and excited.
But the side effect is also very obvious, that is, your wallet will be killed very quickly (basically each project costs 180~220 people). If you just want to see the Great Barrier Reef and then take a look at other scenery, you will definitely be disappointed. Because there is not much scenery to see except that the place is small and the temperature is high (above 35 degrees all year round).
There is nothing to buy (except souvenirs and souvenirs). In other words, it is a mini town that relies on tourism to boost its economy. So, friends who want to go there should not be misled by the beautiful imagination of the Great Barrier Reef, but should start from reality, prepare their wallets, and go only when they have enough financial conditions.
Believe that if you do this, you will have a beautiful (helicopter overlooking the Great Barrier Reef, round-trip transfers), romantic (hot air balloons, Kuranda Cable Car), and exciting (skydiving, diving) trip to Cairns. Otherwise, it is very likely that hope will turn into disappointment, which will become a nightmare in your many travel memories.
There were three students from China staying in the same hotel with us. I guess they were not well off financially and had not done any research beforehand. When it came time to buy tickets, we found out that even the cheapest boat ticket cost more than 1,000 RMB per person. We were stunned at the time, so we naturally gave up on all other activities.
On the first day, we walked around the city of Cairns, and on the second day, we went to the Great Barrier Reef and returned to Sydney at night. I won't say much about the city of Yunluo. Probably the fourth and fifth tier cities in China are much better than it. It's really small and everything is the same.
When we went out to sea the next day, it happened to be windy and rainy (remember that it was sunny and windy on the first day An Qingjue and Yunluo went out to sea, and about half of the people fell down. You can imagine the power of wind and rain in the open sea). We got back at 4 or 5 o'clock. We were so dizzy that we couldn't even walk, and we had to go directly to the airport to catch the plane.
It is conceivable whether they will mention this "horrible" place again in the future. (To be continued...)
