There is nothing much to say about the Ceylonica Beach Hotel where Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo stayed, except that it was cheap. It was $25 per night, including tax and breakfast.
Too shabby, no interest in taking pictures.
The facilities are old but acceptable, the key is that they are not very clean, there are hairs on the bed. Yunluo's room has two small beds put together, but there is only a single mosquito net on top, which feels dirty and smells.
That night, Yunluo slept in long clothes and long pants.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's rooms have air conditioners and fans. Yunluo only turned on the air conditioner for a while before taking a shower, and then turned it off. He also didn't turn on the fan, and wore long clothes and long pants, but didn't feel hot. Yunluo's sister's room only has a fan, and they said they felt very hot.
Tyron also thought the hotel was not very good.
On the second day, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo met compatriots from the south at breakfast. They felt that they were very happy staying in the hotel for several nights. There was the sea outside the hotel. Everyone's accommodation standard is different, and it only represents personal feelings.
The fish market in Negombo is a great place to take photos of the humanities. Of course, if you have time and want to show off your cooking skills in the hotel and have a homemade seafood feast, this is also the best choice for freshness and cheapness.
There are two fish markets. One is a larger open-air market where fishermen will show their fresh catches and you may even see small sharks. The other is a small market where frozen fish are mainly sold.
The day Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went there was a Muslim festival. The big fish market was closed, and only the small fish market was still open. Yunluo was not interested in the bloody and fishy things, so he chose to take a nap in the hotel. The other three people made an appointment with Tyron at 5:30, but unexpectedly Tyron was 20 minutes late on the first day.
At seven o'clock, Yunluo was still sleeping. He was awakened by Nalan Shiqi who came back. He quickly took a shower, had breakfast, and prepared to leave for the elephant orphanage. Although the hotel's hygiene and facilities were unsatisfactory, the service was still worthy of recognition.
A sip of the fragrant black tea refreshed their spirits. Here Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo met fellow countrymen from the south, who asked about their breakfast. It seemed that they should have arrived at the room they had found in Negombo.
We set off at 8 o'clock. An hour and a half after departure, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo started to get off the car to replenish water. The Golden Coconut in Lanka is cheap and delicious. Don't miss it.
The water was sold for 80 rupees, slightly higher than the marked price of 60 rupees, but the difference was not much, so Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo did not bargain.
Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's ability to waste time began to show from the moment they set out. In addition to being able to eat, drink, and pee, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo can also take photos.
Half an hour later, Nalanshiqi and Yunluo arrived at Pinnawala Elephant (Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage)
It takes about 2.5 hours from Negombo to the elephant orphanage. There is a 20-minute stopover. Tip: Please pay attention to the correct name of the orphanage. On the way, the driver will tell you that there is another elephant orphanage where the price is cheaper. If you agree, you will be taken to a fake place where there are only two elephants. The driver does that to get a lot of kickbacks. Do your homework and find that many people have been cheated. Tyron also mentioned it to Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo firmly refused.
Pinnawalaelephant (Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage) Ticket 2000 rupees/person
*Every day from 10am to 12pm, the elephants will cross the street to bathe in the river; after bathing at 12pm, they will return to the orphanage through the small street.
*Repeat every day from 2pm to 4pm.
*After the main group of elephants go home at 12 o'clock, another small group of about 10 elephants will set out from the orphanage to take a bath in the river.
* If you go to the river to watch the elephants bathe, you need to buy a ticket for 2000 rupees. There will be ticket inspectors at the entrance of the small street.
*If you just want to see the elephants crossing the street, you only need to wait at the intersection and you don’t need to buy a ticket.
You can buy milk to feed the elephants in the orphanage and watch the elephants bathe. Just pay a tip if you can get in touch with them. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo paid a total of 700 rupees in tips, 300 rupees to buy bananas and take photos with the elephants, and zero contact with the elephants.
There are currently two elephant orphanages in the world, one in Sri Lanka and one in Kenya.
The main purpose is to adopt homeless, seriously injured in traps, lost from the group, injured in war and sick baby elephants.
At that time, the British government issued an order that any British in Sri Lanka would be rewarded 60 pounds for each elephant killed. It is said that the British once set a record of killing more than 60 elephants in a week. As a result of these disasters, the number of elephants left is now more than 3,000.
The elephants actually like to play with people on the shore, but they are always driven back into the water by those vicious staff.
The staff also want to collect money from this, how can they let tourists touch the elephants so easily? Look at the staff holding long sticks around, with fierce faces.
Some clever and unruly elephants would deliberately tease the staff by forcing them to run in the river under the sun on smooth, mossy rocks.
Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luo looked at the naughty children on the shore and felt amused, sad and helpless. These creatures, who should have been free, now had to survive in another way in the hands of humans who were both angels and demons.
Originally, tourists could touch the elephants freely but had to pay a fee, which made people feel a little uncomfortable. However, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo could not miss this good moment of close contact.
Besides, I remember that you can hug a tiger and take a photo with it for 30 yuan for 2 minutes in Beijing. You can take photos as you like here, which is much better than Beijing. The elephants don't let you feed them bananas because they have soft and wet baby elephants in their mouths.
However, what Yunluo hopes more is that, returning to the original state, Yunluo can personally put in effort and love to establish a true emotional relationship with them.
They stayed there for more than an hour, taking photos and playing. Before they were dried up in the sun, Tyron showed up in time and told Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo that they could wait for the elephants to cross the road at the restaurant on the corner.
11:50 Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luo started lunch at a western restaurant opposite the orphanage at the corner of the street. Four sandwiches cost 1450 rupees, about 20 yuan each. Compared with China, this price is very cheap, but it is definitely considered high consumption in Lanka.
Tyron found the best seats for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo. No one was interested in taking photos of the restaurant, so Yunluo used Crazy 4 to take a photo of the restaurant name and put it on the bill.
Just when Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo picked up the sandwiches in their hands and were about to take a bite, the elephant came!
When the elephants were out, it felt like everything around me was still. The colorful buses, tuk-tuks and pedestrians all stopped on the roadside.
A large group of tourists rushed to the front, holding cameras and DVs in their hands, whispering to each other.
Capture the aura of elephants.
This hotel is not the best in the Lion Rock area. The best hotel is the one that offers a view of the Lion Rock. There were no rooms available when Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo booked it.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
It is a ten-minute drive from Lion Rock.
The environment of this hotel is good, mainly European and American teams. There is also a swimming pool. When Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo arrived in the afternoon, a group of foreigners were soaking in the pool.
The room is very big, the shower water is very good, and the bed is also OK. It is a world of difference compared to the night before. I saw the bird of paradise on the balcony the next morning. 300 yuan per room, the price-performance ratio is pretty good.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, Naranshiqi and the clouds fell into the Sigiriya Lion Rock area.
Tyron asked Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo if they wanted to check in at the hotel first. This check-in completely delayed their time. The closing time of Shizi Rock had been changed to 5 o'clock, but Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo were still planning to spend 6 o'clock.
When we arrived at the hotel, we decided to take care of food and clothing first before climbing Lion Rock.
Before they finished their meal, Tyron urged Nalanshiqi and Yunluo, saying that the ticket sales for Lion Rock would stop at 5 o'clock. In a hurry, Yunluo left his passport on the table.
When they arrived at Lion Rock, ticket sales had stopped. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo had to change their schedule and climb Lion Rock early tomorrow morning. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo were still taking pictures, and time slipped away quietly.
The hotel is more than 10 minutes away from Lion Rock. When we got back, the waiter uncle had already collected Yun Luo's passport. I gave him a tip of 100 rupees, but the uncle took Yun Luo's big box of cooling oil for himself.
When Tyron returned to the hotel, he discussed Eliya's itinerary with Yunluo for a long time. He was not familiar with the hotel that Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo had booked, and he thought it would take 6 hours to get from that hotel to Eliya.
Fortunately, the hotel where Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo were staying had wifi, so they downloaded a map for him to see. During this time, Yunluo also called back home to look for a beautiful female netizen to find the address.
Finally, his friend asked him to call Eliya Hotel to get a clear route. After the route was set, they started to discuss the itinerary for the next day.
The original plan was to climb Lion Rock today and go to Dambulla and Polonnaruwa (the holy city of Polonnaruwa - the city of queens) the next day. However, we were not able to climb Lion Rock today, and P City the next day was also very tight. In order not to make ourselves too tired, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo cancelled the trip to P City.
Nalanshiqi, Yunluo and the other two had all been to Angkor before, and they had no regrets. Nalanshiqi, Yunluo and Tyron watched over the dining table, communicating from daybreak to dusk; they finally understood each other by dinner time!
Suddenly, they saw a bird with a long white tail. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo exclaimed, "Bird of Paradise? Is it a Bird of Paradise?"
Just take a rough look at Crazy 4's long distance. Yunluo also took a picture, but someone who loves taking pictures didn't even take a picture.
While talking about this bird with Tyron in the car, he took out the book, and Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo flipped through it. It turned out to be a bird of paradise. They felt so lucky!
Checked out at 7:45; bought tickets and started climbing Lion Rock at 8:15.
It was cloudy that day for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo, so they didn't feel tired. If it was noon, they would definitely be sunburned to death as there was no shelter along the way.
Be prepared, wear a cardigan or shawl, the wind is very strong on the top of the mountain. (To be continued...)
