There is free wifi here, and the front desk gave Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo two accounts, which is really good news, at least Yunluo can log into the Facebook account that has been dry for a long time. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo took a quick rest, walked around the backyard with exquisite vegetation and a small swimming pool, took a photo with the mottled and delicate red flowers on the stone wall, and planned to go out for a walk.
According to the map navigation, there is a javahouse nearby. I turned left and walked to the end. Sure enough, I saw the sign of javahouse downstairs of a medical research institute. I ordered a cup of coffee and a passionfruit juice, as well as a dessert. I sat outdoors and enjoyed it. The coffee was very fragrant, and I was in a good mood. The sunlight became softer as time passed.
When checking out, I was struggling with the tip issue: I didn't look at the menu carefully, and thought I would have to pay more tips and consumption taxes, so I left a lot of extra money. Later, when I went to Javahouse again, I found that all the surcharges were already included in the price.
In the evening, Nalanshiqi and Yunluo went to the weekend market in Marseilles. Yunluo helped them bargain and bought several large wooden sculptures at a good price. The souvenirs that could be brought back here, according to Yunluo's summary and analysis, were animals carved from black wood, bookshelves or decorations made of soapstone, which were relatively cost-effective.
Wood carvings must be made of black wood. Many are made of yellow wood and then coated with a layer of black paint that looks similar. After being knocked, you can see the traces of yellow cork. The density of black wood should be greater than that of ordinary wood, so it should be fine if you weigh it.
However, buying so many black wood carvings on the first day caused a lot of trouble for the rest of the trip. The luggage was very heavy along the way, but fortunately there were backpack porters who could help with the carrying with tips. The ears, noses, tails, arms and legs of the animals were fragile and needed special attention.
The next day, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo knocked off the ear of an elephant. They suffered various injuries along the way, and when they returned home, along with the telescope, the toes of the wooden lion were also injured.
The good thing is that Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's purchase price is very reasonable. It is difficult for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo to get such a good bargain on their own in various gift shops on the road. So Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo didn't buy any more souvenirs.
The act of paying several thousand shillings to the boss at one time attracted two local women with children on their backs to beg, and the friend gave them the change, which attracted more locals to "besiege". After buying souvenirs, they spent almost all the remaining shillings, but these women followed Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo to the parking lot.
When I was hesitating whether to give them the US dollars, my friend said it was okay not to give them money, and told me that once a scholar gave them money. They found that they were not thanking the person who gave them the money, but thanking God. Why? Because even if you give money, it is sent by God, so in the end, the money is given to Yunluo by God.
This kind of self-righteousness is hard to accept for the Chinese people who are hardworking and rich but atheistic, and their compassion and kindness are greatly reduced. People here will not work if they can get food, especially men who practice polygamy and take care of children but not raising them, so women live a more miserable life. This is also the reason why there are so many women begging on the streets.
Amberseli was the first attraction Nalanshiqi and Yunluo went to. It took a whole half day to get to Amberseli from Kenya. Yunluo was very excited and took photos through the window.
The vegetation is green in Nairobi, and the further you go towards Amberseli, the more dry and yellow the grassland becomes. Wearing Yunluo's brown sunglasses clip-on feels really good! We had a half-day game drive and a full-day game drive in Amberseli.
The most famous view here is Mount Kilimanjaro. Although Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, the best place to view it is in Amboseli, Kenya.
According to Yunluo's observations and the pictures on lonelypla and other tourist materials, the snow and glaciers on the mountain have seriously retreated, and the snow line on the east side of the mountain has almost completely retreated. Only the dark brown mountain body remains. A slogan of the Maldives is that with global warming, the Maldives will completely disappear.
Similarly, Kilimanjaro and Amberseli could also have slogans like, if you don’t come here, the snow-capped mountains on the equator will disappear.
The land is nourished by the melting snow of Mount Kilimanjaro and the fertile volcanic ash formed by volcanic eruptions hundreds and thousands of years ago. Although Nalanshiqi and Yunluo are in the dry season, most of the grassland area is yellow, but the undercurrents and swamps formed by the melting snow nourish the lush green grass above.
From a distance, the green winds from the foot of the mountain, starting out as a rich color, then slowly fades and spreads across the vast plains of Amberseli.
The most famous animal here is the elephant. On the evening of the first day, Nalanshiqi and Yunluo saw many animals, including a lioness and two cubs, but only saw a group of elephants fighting at the edge of the swamp when the sun was setting and they were about to return.
On the second day, during the game drive, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo saw groups of elephants in various shapes, sizes and activities. Yunluo, who loves elephants, was very satisfied. The following is an exhibition of elephant photos.
Therefore, the reason why the recommended travel time to Amberseli is 2 days is that if you only stay for one day, excluding the journey, you can only do a half-day game drive. It is difficult to really go deep into the heart of the green swamp and see a large number of elephants.
Finally, let’s talk about the kibo tent where Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo lived. It was the first place Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo had ever lived. Specifically, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo lived on the small road in Cheetahrun, under the bird’s nest.
To be honest, I feel that the accommodation conditions in the tent are average, mainly because the shower and toilet in the room are completely tent-style, not made of cement. However, because it is relatively close to the park gate and the external environment design and buffet are also good, it has received a lot of praise and has been sought after by various travel friends.
Because Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went there during the National Day, there were many Chinese people. When eating, Chinese people basically occupied half of the tables in the restaurant. There was a Maasai performance in the evening. I personally think it’s enough to just listen in the room. If you are really interested in the Maasai, you can go to the Maasai village in person to meet the pure Maasai people.
From Amberselina Kuru, you need to return to Nairobi first, and then pass through the Great Rift Valley of East Africa to reach it, which is a longer journey. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo set out early in the morning and arrived in Kuru at almost 4 pm. Then, without returning to the hotel to rest, they went to the park for safari.
Because I only arranged one day in Nakuru and only did an afternoon game drive. Looking back, it was quite rushed. I just regret that the vacation was not long enough and I couldn't stay a few more days, which is also a pity.
Nakuru is most famous for the flamingos in the lake, but Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went there at the wrong time. The lake water rose and the flamingos had no food, so they probably ran to the nearby Lake Bogoria.
It cannot be said that we didn't see any flamingos at all, as there were still dozens of them scattered around. There are two species of flamingos, larger and lesser, and both large and small ones were here. However, we did not find the kind of shocking feeling that dyed the sky red, the lake red, and the shots of Nalan Shiqi and Yun Luo red.
It is recommended that if you are a photography enthusiast, especially a bird photography enthusiast, you should visit both Kullu and Bogoria.
Although there are tens of thousands of flamingos gone, there are still all kinds of birds in Lake Nakuru, including birds similar to seagulls, small water birds fighting with each other, birds with spoon-like beaks, birds with yellow beaks and cunning smiles, and the most numerous are the large-billed pelicans.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Later Yunluo remembered that the big-mouthed pelican was the one who rescued Nemo's father, held him in his mouth, and sent him to the dentist's house to find his son. Thinking of this, Yunluo had a good impression of these densely packed birds.
The car moved slowly along the tree-lined path by the lake. The beautiful scenery overwhelmed Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo: on the left was a bird paradise, and on the right were various large herbivores, including zebras, antelopes, deer, hippos, and three precious white rhinos.
We crossed the lake and went up the mountain. We arrived at the Baboon Cliff where we could get off the car and move around freely. There were many people and baboons here. One of my compatriots tried to tease the baboon, but was teased by the baboon and the water bottle in his hand was snatched away. Here I would like to advise future travelers that it is very dangerous to play with wild animals. You can watch them from a distance, but you can't play with them.
Finally, let me talk about the flammingo tent we stayed in. This was the best of the three tents we stayed in. The tent was very private, and there was a small garden at the door of each tent.
The dining area is more like a big yurt. The buffet in the morning is very good. Dinner is ordered. Yunluo is also willing to spend more and drink some red wine and beer. The only drawback is that the time we stayed was too short. We came and went in a hurry and didn't enjoy the fun of soaking in the open-air swimming pool and watching the wild buffalo and large animals next to the fence.
This was the last stop for Nalanshiqi and Yunluo, and also the one they longed for the most. Nalanshiqi and Yunluo stayed here for 3 days. It turned out that it was wise to go to Masai Mara last, because if they went here first, they would not be surprised no matter how many large animals they saw in the later attractions.
The variety, quantity and density of animals here are unmatched by other scenic spots. This is not to say that scenic spots such as Amberseli and Nakuru have no merits. After all, different natural landscapes, such as snow-capped mountains and lakeside, are very different. It’s just that as long as you stay here long enough, you can basically see all the animals.
For example, lions were also seen in Amberselina Lanshiqi and Yunluo. Here, an average of 2 lions were seen in half a day. (To be continued...)
