In the afternoon, we went to Central World, BigC, and the Four-Faced Buddha. Forgive me for not posting so many photos, because Yunluo and An Chuyu forgot to take photos. There is a large Naraya store on the first floor of Central World, with many styles, but Yunluo and An Chuyu didn't buy any.
There is a large supermarket on the second floor of bigc, which has all kinds of snacks. You can see people throwing big bags into the shopping carts there. After checking out, they also use green shopping bags. There is no tax refund for food. Remember to think about where you want to go, otherwise you will be like Yunluo and An Chuyu, carrying a lot of packages everywhere, which is very tiring.
Wandering around without knowing where to go. In addition to buses, Bangkok also has this kind of boat. I haven't checked it out. The incense of the Four-Faced Buddha is very popular. Remember to buy wreaths and other things inside. The ones outside are very expensive. Also, Bangkok is super congested at night, so if you take a taxi in these big shopping areas, they will charge double the price because they say they only go one way and won't go back to solicit passengers.
Tuk-tuks are more convenient and the speed is absolutely exciting. Remember to bargain. Bangkok feels a bit chaotic at night. I saw many motorcycle gangs passing by in groups. The tuk-tuk driver also reminded Yunluo and An Chuyu to protect their bags. I found a phenomenon that it is difficult to find trash cans in Thailand, so I often have to carry trash everywhere.
Sometimes I just saw a garbage bag on the ground. It was almost ten o'clock when I returned to Ecohouse. I wanted to go to Khao San Road at night, but I was too tired, so I gave up. I went back to take a shower and slept until dawn. In the morning, I wandered around the accommodation area, and then took a taxi to the BTS station. Remember that if you transfer, it will stop in the middle.
This is the ticket in hand. Yunluo and An Chuyu's destination is E6Tonglo Station, Exit 3. After going down the stairs and turning left, you can see Maevaree, which is said to be the best mango sticky rice in Thailand. Yunluo and An Chuyu packed two three-color sticky rice. The total cost is 240b, and then went back to BTS.
This time I went to E4ASOK Station, exit 1 and it was Terminal 21. You can get a free discount card at the information desk with your passport. The toilets are really well-serviced, with waiters inside and automatic toilets, the kind that Chinese people use when they go shopping in Japan.
There was a place to eat on the fourth or fifth floor similar to Food Republic, where I drank a glass of mixed juice and had a good laxative effect. Of course, there were also some fast food chains on the first floor. Yunluo and An Chuyu secretly had a mango sticky rice at Big Burger, where the fries were really delicious.
Later, Yunluo and An Chuyu went to Siam with BTS, where they saw Gerard's exhibition. They took some photos, walked around, and then went out to find MBK. It was really convenient to have these shopping spots together. There were also a lot of people in MBK, but Yunluo and An Chuyu's goal was also very clear.
We bought dried durian and dried mango, which were quite generous and very cheap. After shopping, Yunluo and An Chuyu rushed back to their accommodation because they had to take the train again. You can choose to fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. It takes about 1 hour; Yunluo and An Chuyu chose the train, which takes 14 hours. You can choose for yourself.
Yunluo and An Chuyu boarded the train at Hua Lamphong Railway Station. The train was the kind that was used as seats during the day and could be turned into beds at night. Yunluo and An Chuyu did not see any Chinese people in the train compartment. The meals on the train were ordered separately. The upper berth was more uncomfortable than the lower berth because the lights were not turned off at night and it was still very bright even with the curtains drawn.
And there are only two seat belts to protect you. Anyway, Yunluo didn't sleep well that night, and Yunluo's girlfriend slept well in the lower bunk. There are very few sockets like this. So it is very popular. The food on the train tastes good. Students who didn't bring food can try it.
Arrived in Chiang Mai on time early in the morning. The air in Chiang Mai felt much better than Bangkok, and it was not that hot. Yunluo and An Chuyu asked for directions at the tourist information center in the station. The staff asked Yunluo and An Chuyu if they wanted to take a taxi, and then took Yunluo and An Chuyu on the road in their own private car. Uh. Is this considered taking private work?
If you book accommodation, it is best to print out the address and phone number before you go, because even if they don't know the way, they can call to ask for directions. My girlfriend asked for a hotel with a swimming pool before we left, so we booked this Pagoda, 900b per night with air-conditioned double bed, including breakfast. The address is near the daily night market, and later I found it very convenient to travel after I got familiar with the road.
Although the decoration next door was a little smelly when Yunluo and An Chuyu went there, they still lived comfortably, but the wifi in the room was not good. The bosses were all foreigners, and they could book various tours in the store. Yunluo and An Chuyu rented a motorcycle there for 250b/day, and kept their passports. They put away their luggage and took a shower.
Then Yunluo and An Chuyu went out on a scooter, of course they were going everywhere, the girlfriend could drive but she didn't have a license, so she became the driver. Google navigation didn't work, Yunluo and An Chuyu could only look at the map while driving to find the way, they wanted to go to the old city, but later found that they went in the opposite direction and crossed the river to the new city.
But when it was time to eat, Yunluo and An Chuyu stopped to eat because they saw a restaurant full of people. They were all locals, and the food was definitely good in a place with a lot of people. Just the menu. There was no information about this restaurant on Google, but its Chiang Mai noodles were delicious. After eating the soda water that they didn't want to try again, Yunluo and An Chuyu set off again, this time in the right direction.
Then they arrived at the Thai Temple in a daze. It was empty. An old man inside received Yunluo and An Chuyu. Yunluo and An Chuyu were always ahead of a tour group for the rest of their trip. Every time Yunluo and An Chuyu finished their tour, a large convoy of tuk-tuks would come in. It was really spectacular. However, Yunluo and An Chuyu would leave immediately when they saw many Chinese people.
We walked straight along the road from Wat Phra That Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and arrived at Thapae Gate, and then entered the ancient city. We were willful with a motorcycle, wandering around the ancient city. There is a custom in my hometown that we must go into a temple to worship when passing by. There is a temple every few steps in the ancient city, so you know, my girlfriend got tired and talked nonsense in the temple, and then she had diarrhea.
By the way, if you can't find a toilet in the ancient city, just go to the temple. Yunluo and Anchu's 7111 Later, Yunluo and Anchu came across the Chedi Luang Temple, which was really beautiful, but Yunluo and Anchu's mobile phones were out of battery at that time. Yunluo's approximate itinerary was in his mobile phone. In fact, Yunluo didn't do much homework in Chiang Mai, so he just went with it.
Just know a few spots. So we wandered around again, and of course we could only find random places to eat. We finally had dinner at the restaurant opposite Thapae Gate. The food was good. The two of us who didn't bring a charger stayed in the restaurant for a long time with the air conditioner on. It didn't rain in Thailand this week. The guide said there would be showers from time to time.
It was so hot. Chiang Mai is a place for leisurely experience. Yunluo and An Chuyu had a very full schedule and were very tired in the first two days, so they slowed down here. Dragons are snakes, and snakes are small snakes. After finishing dinner in the ancient city, Yunluo and An Chuyu drove to the daily night market near their accommodation. The whole street was lined with stalls.
There is a special parking lot. Yunluo and An Chuyu wanted to learn from others to park on the roadside. It is also nice to go shopping here at night. You can bargain. Later, Yunluo and An Chuyu wanted to go back to the hotel but didn't know how to get there. They asked a security guard standing on the roadside, but he didn't understand English and Yunluo didn't understand Thai.
Finally, he took the map and ran all the way to the fork in the road to show them the way. What a nice guy. After taking a shower, Yunluo and An Chuyu played in the water at the hotel. It was a leisurely day, and with a motorcycle, it was not so tiring. After finishing breakfast, Yunluo and An Chuyu set off again on their scooters, and had to return the scooter before noon.
Today's goal is Warorot Market. We wandered around as usual. Yunluo and An Chuyu knew the general direction and we could drive around freely. We filled up 21# gasoline in the middle, 40b. We asked someone to help us fill it up, hehe. There are many specialty stores in Warorot Market on the small road in the hotel, and there are also special Chinese volunteers.
So you can buy local specialties here. Yunluo and An Chuyu regretted not buying any. There was a fried chicken drumstick store inside. Many locals lined up. Yunluo and An Chuyu also joined in the fun and bought a fried chicken drumstick. It was really delicious. No pictures. There were also many places selling pig skin, but I didn't have the interest to skip it.
At the entrance of a market, we met the only uncle who I thought was bad during the Thai tour. He was selling mangosteens, and the price was 30b. When we talked to him, he said he didn't understand English. He just gave us a bag of mangosteens, and asked us to pay for them first and then give them the goods. He didn't open it, and didn't let Yunluo and An Chuyu choose.
Yunluo and An Chuyu had met so many nice people before that they didn't pay much attention. But when they entered the market, they found that most of the mangosteens were priced at 4050b. When they opened the bag, half of them were raw and couldn't be opened at all. There were also a lot of ants. The remaining few tasted really sweet. Is this considered a dishonest business?
Later, at around 11 o'clock, the boss returned to the hotel and helped Yunluo and Anchuyu take a tuk-tuk to the next accommodation, which was also Yunluo's favorite one. Chiangmaihousefordreamer, B&B, 111 yuan per night for a king-size bed with air conditioning. It is far from the ancient city, and one trip costs 100-150b. If you mind the distance, don't come, but you will definitely not regret it if you come.
She made Yunluo feel at home. The aunt managed a big house by herself. You can use everything in it, and there is a delicious breakfast every day. There are restaurants and markets nearby, so it is quite convenient. Of course, it is not convenient to come here. I slept there for two nights, and every time they called a tuk-tuk, they would get lost.
Haha, but I also met some very nice people because of this. At noon, Yunluo and An Chuyu had lunch at the nearby Thairestaurant, which is next to the river and should have a nice night view. They ordered the recommended seafood salad, and then Yunluo ate the first frozen river crab in her life. She used to be very averse to these, but for some reason, it suited Yunluo's taste.
Yunluo's girlfriend couldn't stand it and ordered roasted chicken legs. No pictures, don't think about it. After eating, I took a nap and then set off to Nimman Road. I originally wanted to continue renting motorcycles, but my aunt was afraid that Yunluo and An Chuyu would get lost and couldn't get back at night, so she suggested that Yunluo and An Chuyu take a tuk-tuk. Yunluo and An Chuyu were also bad at finding their way at night, especially those without street lights, so that's it.
Nimman Road is a must-visit place for all the travel guides. When we got there, we finally started to meet a lot of Chinese people. In fact, Yunluo and An Chuyu had always been among the locals. Then we went to Mangotango, where many Chinese people gathered. My girlfriend said she couldn't stand so many Chinese people in such a small shop, so we ate a little and left. To be honest.
It tastes good but not worth the price. Mango pudding. After walking around for a while, I had no interest in continuing. Seeing many girls dressed up, Yunluo thought I had arrived at Gulangyu Island. Then Yunluo started looking for food again. In Tongtemton in the alley, Yunluo and An Chu met the very unusual Huaguoke, which specializes in northern Thai cuisine.
Grilled chicken and cucumber salad are delicious. Fruit salad, chicken and pork chops. Actually, this is just a snack for Yunluo and An Chuyu. They are no longer interested in walking down Nimman Road. There is a Maya shopping area nearby, but they didn't go in. The pool at the entrance is nice and cool. Yunluo and An Chuyu return to the ancient city. The songthaew is 20b per person back to the north gate.
Yunluo and An Chuyu are going to ppbuffet near the South Gate. The buffet is 159b per person. It is only open at night. You can eat very full. The reputation of hotpot for thousands of people is not good. Yunluo will not go there. This picture shows that they are full. After eating, Yunluo and An Chuyu wandered around in the ancient city again. In fact, there will be few people in the ancient city very early.
The shops inside all close very early, so the streets are quite quiet, and of course the night view is nice. Later, after passing the Three Kings Square, we ran into a large group of female students, who turned out to be students from the nearby International College. Yunluo and An Chuyu followed them and laughed. Later, they went back to their accommodation to rest as there was nothing else to do.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
As soon as they get up in the morning, the aunt will prepare breakfast for Yunluo and An Chuyu. Every day is different. After eating, I discussed today's itinerary with the aunt. Before coming to Thailand, my girlfriend said that we should not go to the elephant camp. No buying and selling, no harm. Elephants are the mascots of Thailand. Yunluo and An Chuyu don't understand why they are abused.
There is also Chiang Mai University, but I didn't have the interest to skip it; the Night Zoo, but I skipped it in the dark. So today we went to Doi Suthep Temple. Auntie asked a tuk-tuk to take Yunluo and Anchu to the roadside of Chiang Mai University. There were many red cars going to Doi Suthep, and the price was very transparent, 40b/person. As you can see in the picture, there are often ants on the stone benches on the roadside. They bite people very painfully.
Later, because we couldn't get 10 people together, Yunluo and An Chuyu drove with 6 people. Of course, the price increased to 55b/person. Then the mountain road was winding. To be honest, Yunluo and An Chuyu were really glad that they didn't ride their bikes up, otherwise they would probably get dizzy from the circles. They really turned around and around for a long time before finally getting off at Shuanglong Temple.
There was a new Buddha statue that day, and there was an elephant throne inside. It was very impressive that you could see Chiang Mai Airport from here. It seemed that maintenance workers had come in. After the visit, Yunluo and An Chuyu returned to the foot of the mountain. There were many tuk-tuk to take passengers back to the ancient city, or to the north gate, 100b/person. To be honest, Yunluo and An Chuyu were both good at riding tuk-tuk.
As a result, I felt really dizzy after riding that bus. I almost vomited and didn't know if I had heat stroke. After getting off the bus back to the ancient city, Yunluo and Anchuyu both felt a little uncomfortable in their stomachs, so they got off the bus and walked around. Finally, they found this intothewoods fairy tale theme store. The air conditioner inside was so strong that it made them even more dizzy.
This restaurant provides simple meals. I didn't meet any Chinese people. Many people came and took away food because there was no room. I encountered a problem when checking out. The waiter brought a bowl with the bill inside. Yunluo knew that he should give a tip, but how should he give it? Putting it in the bowl felt like giving it to a beggar, or should he press the bottom of the bowl, or give it directly to the waiter. The problem was that he paid at the counter, so Yunluo didn't give it in the end, uh.
After having dinner and taking a good rest, Yunluo and An Chuyu started to wander around the ancient city again. To be honest, they had been wandering around the ancient city for so long these days but had not seen the largest Wat Phra Singh. Yunluo thought it must be a problem with Yunluo and An Chuyu's route, so their only goal in the afternoon was Wat Phra Singh. They still asked for directions as they walked, and finally arrived.
There is a daily necessities store outside Wat Phra Singh. Many people are buying things. My girlfriend also bought a lot there. You can take a look. Wat Phra Singh is really big. There are tuk-tuks inside. Yunluo and An Chuyu asked if they needed to take a car to go around. Well, it was not necessary. The back was still under repair. After visiting Wat Phra Singh, Yunluo and An Chuyu had basically walked through all the temples in the ancient city.
Then Yunluo and An Chuyu left the city carrying their bags. As they had run out of money, they went to the outside of Thapae Gate to withdraw another 3,000 baht. They also had a massage at a hotel around the corner. The moment the auntie stepped on Yunluo's body, Yunluo felt as if his kidneys were crushed, but it was really comfortable.
I was very tired from walking, but I felt much better after the massage. It was time for dinner and I wanted to eat Northern Thai food. However, the lertros I found that day was closed. Yunluo and An Chuyu ran back to Wat Phra Singh and found spchicken in the alley on the left. It had a simple Chinese menu and they ordered half a chicken. The sauce was delicious.
It was dark when we came out after eating. We could see the bright lights of Chedi Luang Temple from afar. Yunluo and Anchuyu's next destination was the Saturday Night Market near the South Gate. There were a lot of people there, but there were traffic police to maintain order. The bustling crowd slowly moved forward. We saw several blind bands and many little girls singing.
However, Yunluo and An Chuyu were still a little disappointed with the Saturday night market. They didn't buy anything, and the fruits they bought on the roadside were worse than those they had bought at the vegetable market before. After walking back and forth, they remembered that they had to return home and hadn't bought any souvenirs. In the end, they bought some in a store that was frequented by many people. The prices were a little expensive, and they lost out by not buying in Waroroo.
Anyway, Yunluo and An Chuyu carried all kinds of dried fruits and went back to the ancient city to take a bus. They were no longer interested in shopping. The tuk-tuks charged exorbitant prices that night. However, they met a Chiang Mai driver who spoke Chinese with a Hong Kong accent and laughed all the way home to sleep. Yunluo and An Chuyu stayed in a homestay, but it was very beautiful and clean.
The owner of the B&B is warm and humorous, speaks very good Chinese, and answers all questions. The room has all the necessary configurations, and the location is superb, in the center of the ancient city, only one street away from the Chedi Luang Temple. After checking in, Yunluo and An Chuyu put down their luggage and went out. Because it was already dark and they were very tired after a day of tossing, Yunluo and An Chuyu decided not to bring a camera to take pictures.
Just stroll around and feel the exotic atmosphere. The small bamboo basket is full of instant coffee and milk tea packets, and coffee cups and spoons are also prepared, free, so considerate. It is the second largest city in Thailand. There are many flowers and plants planted throughout the city, especially roses, so they are called "Northern Thai Roses". (To be continued...)
