Although the name is a bit rustic, the scenery is still nice. The picture above was taken by Yunluo at oreehill. The white building in the picture is the hotel where Yunluo and An Chu met~~Wow, foreigners really know how to enjoy themselves. They drank wine while waiting for the sunset. At the oreehill station, the staff had set up a temporary bar early.
They sell all kinds of cocktails, juices, etc., which are not expensive, AUD5-10/cup. Yunluo and An Chuyu did not try them, but you must not miss it~ The sun has set, it's time to go home~ This is tonight's dinner, bought at the fish and chip shop, this plate of tiger prawns is AUD20, which is still quite cheap even after multiplying by the exchange rate.
Anyway, you definitely can’t buy such fresh prawns for 100 yuan in Beijing. The weather is good today. Here is a night view. There are so many stars in the sky and they are very bright. It’s just that the camera is not very powerful, so you’ll have to make do with it.
Viewing the Great Barrier Reef from a helicopter. Today is the day that Yunluo is most looking forward to during her and Anchuyu's trip. The reason is that Yunluo has booked an activity to fly there and back by helicopter to overlook the heart-shaped Great Barrier Reef. There is a general introduction to this activity booked on Aole in the travel notes, so I will repeat the URL here.
I'm repeating Yunluo's review on Aole for your reference: Since Yunluo and An Chuyu had booked to fly there and return by boat, the helicopter company didn't pick them up until 10:30, so they couldn't waste the good time early in the morning. Since they didn't have too much time, it was great to just walk around. Here are some pictures.
This is also the swimming pool of the handsome and rich hotel next door to Yunluo and An Chuyu. It is much more high-end and classy than Yunluo and An Chuyu's own hotel. I think Yunluo is very satisfied with her own hotel. I don't know if it's in other people's hotels. In the morning, I wanted to wear clothes that were easy to put on and take off, so I put on a big T-shirt over the bikini.
Just go out. Don't say Yunluo didn't wear pants. In fact, Yunluo didn't wear any pants, covering his face~ Speaking of today's topic, there are actually three options for booking a helicopter to overlook the heart-shaped Great Barrier Reef, namely fly out and return by boat, ship out and fly back, and fly out and fly back. Why there is no ship out and return by boat, Yunluo will explain in detail later.
Yunluo also considered the advice of others and chose to fly there and return by boat. It was a wise choice. I am talking about it while looking at the pictures. At around 10 o'clock, the employees of the helicopter company drove to the hotel to pick up Yunluo and An Chuyu. After verifying their identity information, they took Yunluo and An Chuyu to the airport. The airport was built on the island. Later, Yunluo and An Chuyu came here when they toured the island.
These are the three helicopters of this company. According to observation, some of them are for two passengers. They are all local tyrants. Yunluo and An Chuyu are the closest to the dark green aircraft, which can take six passengers. Regarding the seats on the plane, I saw a post before coming here about the seats of a 6-person helicopter. There is no doubt that the co-pilot seat is the best.
Of course, it was not easy to get a seat there. The five seats at the back were arranged like the five Olympic rings. Of course, four of them were by the windows. The other one was in the middle. The seats were completely arranged by the captain. Unfortunately, Yunluo was in the middle seat, but later he found that it was not that bad. Everything has two sides.
Although Yunluo is not close to the window, the captain will stop and circle at each overlooking location, so that tourists on both sides have the opportunity to take pictures, so Yunluo has two chances to take pictures. And anyway, they are taking pictures through the glass, the effect is the same. So, don't be unhappy even if you are arranged in the middle.
The helicopter was quite interesting. Yunluo was quite rich, but the helicopter was too noisy, so he had to wear headphones the whole time. So Yunluo and An Chuyu could only communicate by gestures and guessing, haha~ This is the White Heaven Beach from a bird's-eye view. Tomorrow Yunluo and An Chuyu will land here again, but I always think that White Heaven is more beautiful from a bird's-eye view.
The highlight, which is also the key reason why everyone spent a lot of money on the helicopter ride, is to take a look at the heart-shaped Great Barrier Reef, the final destination of God's soul. Although the captain allowed each passenger to take photos from a good angle, it is not possible to take a wonderful photo in just one or two minutes. Yunluo and An Chuyu could only take a lot of photos.
Thanks to Yunluo who took the photo on the left and then on the right, we have this barely acceptable photo, and the memories are preserved~ The helicopter had just landed on a small platform, and a ferry like the one in the picture above came to pick up Yunluo and An Chuyu to go to the big platform. Hahahaha, do you think this ferry is scary? Is it worthy of being called a boat?
The wind was strong and the waves were big, so we had to hold on to the handrails. We actually reached the platform at about 11:40, and the buffet started at 12:00. Many foreigners had gone out to play first. Yunluo's Chinese mentality was at work, and he always felt that there would be nothing to eat if he was late, so he waited obediently for the meal to start, but it turned out to be unnecessary.
Of course, you have to see how many Chinese tourists are around. You know. The buffet has black tiger shrimps (not in this photo, but in the activity section above). There is a sign next to the dish, each person can only take 4, but the sign is only written in English, so it's time for the Chinese grandpa and aunt to show their skills.
Therefore, if there are too many Chinese people on the platform today, you should eat first. The most important thing is to eat well. After eating, it's time to go to the sea. Although Yunluo was shouting happily before, he will stop soon. The terrifying memories are just beginning. An Chuyu heard that the wind and waves are relatively strong today, so he advised Yunluo not to snorkel.
It would be fine to just play on the shore for a while. How could Yunluo listen to his dissuasion? She made up her mind and gritted her teeth. How could she not go down since she was already here? She picked and chose a diving suit (it seemed a little big), posed for photos and was ready to go into the water. These are beautiful fins. Yunluo picked the pink one. In fact, she would not use it, so she would rather not use it.
I couldn't exert any strength at all, especially when the wind and waves were strong. It's all tears if I talk about it too much. Then I talked about the painful memories. Yunluo dragged his fins and took the diving tube, sitting on a chair to put them on. At this time, the sea water just touched Yunluo's feet. When Yunluo finally put on his fins, the sea water had reached Yunluo's knees. Wow, the wind and waves were huge.
Yunluo staggered as he went into the sea. The wind and waves were so strong that Yunluo could not control his body at all. He could only hold on to the safety rope tightly. As shown in the picture above, this is a photo of Yunluo and An Chuyu coming back from snorkeling. Yunluo's hair was not wet at all because Yunluo did not lower his head at all. Wow.
Because it was too scary. Although Yunluo was only a novice diver, this was definitely not Yunluo's first time snorkeling. He had been diving since he was 12 years old, and he went diving in Sabah 2 years ago. But the wind and waves on this sea surface were scary. In fact, the crew had advised Yunluo and Anchu not to go into the water if the wind and waves were too strong.
An Chuyu also tried to dissuade Yunluo, but Yunluo didn't listen. Yunluo was still frightened. He could only participate in other activities on the platform. The one above is a glass cabin, which does not leave the platform. It is part of the platform. Go down the stairs to the underwater. It is said that there are timed feeding ports around it.
Therefore, there are always large schools of fish gathering here. In fact, there is another way to see underwater fish, called a glass-bottomed boat, which is driven by the captain and leaves the platform. It takes about 20 minutes, and someone will explain the fish and corals you see, but Yunluo was scared by snorkeling, and the glass-bottomed boat was very stuffy.
Only painful memories Time on the platform always passed very quickly. Before Yunluo could enjoy a nice sunbath, the time was up. At 3 pm, the boat that Yunluo and An Chuyu were taking back came to pick them up. This was the boat that Yunluo and An Chuyu were taking back. Yunluo and An Chuyu thought about it.
Decided to sit outside the second-floor cabin. I thought it was good to get some fresh air. In fact, this decision can be regarded as one of the wisest decisions in the entire Yunluo trip. If it wasn't a storm when you went, you would have chosen to sit outside. I'm not kidding you, the two-hour voyage was violently rocking.
(It was mainly because the wind and waves were too strong that day), causing many people to feel dizzy and prone to vomiting. An Chuyu went in and out of the cabin and described it to Yunluo as being extremely cold (definitely no more than 15 degrees. The children huddled together in blankets) and extremely smelly, this sealed cabin, coupled with the smell of food and vomit.
People around him made vomiting sounds from time to time, and Yunluo was scared just thinking about it. Fortunately, Yunluo was sitting outside the cabin. Amitābha. This is a photo of Yunluo and An Chuyu just after they got on the boat and chose their seats. It won't be so relaxing in a while. Fortunately, An Chuyu hugged Yunluo and made Yunluo fall asleep, otherwise Yunluo's stomach would be churning.
It's so miserable~ Continuing from what was said above, this is why there is no boat going there and coming back, and we don't recommend you to go there by boat or fly back. Just sitting on the boat and getting bumpy, you won't be in the mood to travel for the whole day.~ The weather was bad today, and it rained a bit when we got back. I went to bed early, and tomorrow will be another interesting day.
Today is our last half day in Hamilton. When we checked out in the morning, the guy at the front desk said that the shuttlebus would come to pick up Yunluo and An Chuyu at 9:30. The time left for Yunluo and An Chuyu was very little. They could only go to the beach in front of the building to take some more photos. When they walked downstairs, they realized that they didn't play in their own swimming pool for a while.
So we spent the last bit of time at the swimming pool downstairs~ We then went to the wildlife area to buy a postcard. The cute koala babies made our own swimming pool look pale in comparison. But as the saying goes, a son will never dislike his mother’s ugliness, and a dog will never dislike his family’s poverty. Let’s take a photo here~ Yunluo and An Chuyu were ready to leave Hamilton, but a bolt from the blue came.
When they arrived at the airport, the pretty blonde ground staff told Yunluo and An Chuyu that they did not buy luggage tickets for the flight from Hamilton to Melbourne! To be honest, Yunluo did know that the three major low-cost airlines in Australia had luggage ticket problems, but Yunluo and An Chuyu booked all domestic flights in Australia through Orbitz.
Due to the late booking and the principle of saving money, all four domestic flights in Australia were booked with Virgin Blue. Yunluo carefully checked Yunluo's order and confirmation email, and also checked the official website's statement about baggage checks, but could not accurately determine whether the tickets Yunluo and An Chuyu had purchased included baggage checks.
So I kept checking in with a fluke mentality, but I was "robbed" in Hamilton. An Chuyu and the blonde ground staff said that Yunluo and An Chuyu did not buy additional baggage tickets for the flights from Cairns to Brisbane and Brisbane to Hamilton, the blonde ground staff said.
Each leg of the trip was separate. The previous two legs already included luggage tickets, but this leg from Hamilton to Melbourne did not include them. So Yunluo and An Chuyu were "forced" to pay AUD40 for luggage tickets. Here, this is the evidence that Yunluo and An Chuyu purchased luggage tickets. Now, Yunluo thinks so.
The most important thing about traveling is to have fun. When traveling, it is inevitable that you will not be fully prepared, and it is inevitable that you will encounter various problems. Spending money will avoid disasters. As long as the problem can be solved with money, it is not a problem. As long as the words are clear and the reason is understood, this AUD40 should not cause any unhappiness.
It's still much cheaper than the AUD100 I saw in the guide before. Let me tell you something interesting. I almost made a fool of myself. First of all, Australian flights are very punctual. Even when everyone is present and the preparations are complete, and there are times when they take off in advance, of course, they will arrive a little early.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Yunluo and An Chuyu, who often fly in China, are not used to it. The flight information of Yunluo and An Chuyu from Hamilton to Melbourne is written as: hti1105-mel1510. Of course, the plane took off a little earlier, but it landed at 14:00, 70 minutes earlier!
Is this correct? What about the airport scheduling and flight speed? I suddenly felt that Australia was unreliable. I thought to myself, what if a passenger had booked a hotel shuttle to pick him up, or if a relative or friend came to pick him up at the airport? Isn't this ridiculous? Sitting in the airport for an hour? Yunluo didn't know what was going on.
It suddenly dawned on me. This is a jet lag problem. There is an hour time difference between Queensland, where Hamilton Island is located, and Victoria, where Melbourne is located. Now the time is 15:00. Haha, I am not used to the jet lag when flying within the same country. Yunluo's life has lost another hour.
【End of Hamilton Island】As a patriotic young man. Where will Yunluo go after getting off the plane? Scenic spots or shopping? Nonono, of course, he will go to Chinatown. After coming out, I realized that as a Chinese, the most patriotic thing is the stomach. I have been out for more than 4 days, and every day I have burgers, fish and chips, and pasta. At this moment, Yunluo really wants to have a proper meal.
The first stop is Melbourne Chinatown. I don’t know if it’s because of preconceived notions, but I always feel that Melbourne Chinatown is more appealing to me than Sydney’s Chinatown. Maybe it’s because the shops are more organized? In short, it’s a place I love very much. It’s right in the CBD, and the entire Littlebourke Street is Chinatown.
Various Asian dishes are also scattered in the surrounding streets. This area should be renamed "Asia City". Yunluo, who was hungry, randomly found a hot pot restaurant that was open. Yunluo must highly recommend it to you. It is called "Ming Lu", a Hong Kong-style hot pot restaurant in Chinatown. You won't miss it. It is called Hong Kong-style hot pot.
It would be more appropriate to call it a self-service hotpot. It is a self-service ordering service, aud27/person, with all the vegetables and meat you can get, but each person can only order two servings of condiments. This rule is really fresh, haha. Just eat less condiments and eat the meat with all your heart. I have to say, Australian meat is delicious. This kind of self-service hotpot is definitely not for the quality of the food.
But the meat still melts in the mouth and does not get dry even after long cooking. The same meat dishes as tripe, fish fillets and hotpot balls are of good quality too. The other vegetables are similar to those in China, and the Chinese spinach and cilantro are just right. I don’t know if it’s because they haven’t had Chinese food for several days, but this hotpot received unanimous high praise from Yunluo and An Chuyu!
Coming out of Chinatown, An Chuyu saw people wearing colorful deer antlers everywhere on the street and insisted on buying some. Well, Christmas was coming soon and today was the 22nd. Not far away, he saw someone with a bunch of deer antlers tied to his body, some red and some green. He saw that it was a donation organized by the Children's Cancer Foundation. An Chuyu donated $5.
Meimei picked a green antler, and this antler has been with Yunluo and Anchu since Christmas~ Today's weather is gloomy, and it rains from time to time. The rain in Australia comes and goes quickly, but the weather is gloomy and not good-looking. The picture above is Melbourne's iconic building, Flinders Station, the legendary Indian station.
Hahaha, it is really interesting, but it doesn't match the surrounding architectural style at all~ Tomorrow is another highlight of the trip to Australia. I strolled around the city for a while and went back after 8 o'clock. I saw the colorful clouds in the western sky from afar, which were particularly beautiful.
Two-Day Tour of the Great Ocean Road As mentioned in the “Activities” section above, Yunluo personally does not recommend this two-day tour of the Great Ocean Road because it is too popular in the Chinese circle, with more than 20 group members.
There are only 3 foreigners, and the rest all speak Chinese. An Chuyu asked Yunluo, do you think there will be a day when the tour guide Juge leads a car full of Chinese people alone? I guess no one wants to see this scene, and Jude doesn't want to see it either, but adhering to the spirit of everyone for Yunluo and Yunluo for everyone, Yunluo still shares the information of the group here.
Again, if you just like tours with a lot of Chinese people, then this tour can give 10 stars. Here is the URL again: This is the approximate itinerary of this tour. Below Yunluo will write the itinerary of these two days in chronological order~ Still the old rules, posting pictures and talking~ There is a law in Australia that Yunluo and An Chuyu feel is particularly safe and humane.
That is, drivers must stop and rest for 15 minutes every 2 hours of driving. This regulation can reduce many car accidents caused by fatigue driving every year. On the way to the Great Ocean Road, there is a rest stop with volunteers for drivers and passengers to rest. This rest stop also provides free milk coffee and various snacks. (To be continued...)
