Koala also likes Yunluo very much, especially after giving its pure body to Yunluo. Yunluo's body is very strong, which makes Koala very happy. It is so happy that it is speechless. Moreover, Yunluo is very gentle. He will not fall asleep after eating Koala. He is very good to Koala, which makes Koala feel that this is love.
I really have to thank my brother Qin Ren. If it weren't for Qin Ren's introduction, Koala would never have met Yunluo, and she would have fallen in love with him slowly. This is love.
Koala is a very lively girl. After making love with Yunluo, she just wanted to stay with Yunluo. So the two of them quietly left Sihai City and went to Yangzhou to enjoy a romantic trip for two.
The two first came to He Garden, which was the last large garden built in Yangzhou in the late Qing Dynasty. After the Tongzhi and Guangxu periods, due to the decline of salt merchants and canal transportation, the center of garden construction had shifted to Suzhou. At this time, Yangzhou gardens were in a state of last glimmer, but they could still reflect their bold and majestic side.
The He Garden combines the essence of Yangzhou gardens and integrates elements of Western architecture, making it a wonder in the history of Chinese gardens. Walking south along the winding corridor, you will enter the residential part of the He Garden.
While inheriting the essence of traditional Chinese garden art, the He Garden architecture draws on Western architectural elements to construct a garden residence system that blends Eastern traditional spirit with Western life concepts. The residence is mainly manifested in the pursuit of change in architectural layout, which is not limited to one style. It does not adopt the traditional central axis style of horizontal roads and vertical advancement, and the front hall and back house style, but is shaped according to the local conditions and has its own appearance.
Yunluo and Koala walked into the garden space of Yuxiu Building, Yixuan Building and Riding Building. The changes, vitality and strong contemporary atmosphere here are not found in pure old-style gardens. The corridor is divided again in Yixuan Building. One is the up and down passage that forms a circle with the rockery stone steps in the courtyard, and the other is to enter Yixuan Building and lead to Yuxiu Building.
The Heyuan residential area is mainly composed of a Xuchun Hall with an area of about 160 square meters, two seven-bay Western-style buildings and an enclosed courtyard. From the courtyard of the Moon Viewing Building, there is an east gate that leads directly to the courtyard where the Yuxiu Building is located, which gives a sense of openness and spaciousness. The Yuxiu Building is a general name for two residential buildings that are arranged side by side, and it is named after the magnolia and hydrangea planted in the courtyard.
More than a hundred years ago, the old and young masters of the He family performed their life stories in such a garden space. The southern part of He Garden is the residential courtyard. The overall layout of the building is strict, basically in the form of a multi-entry courtyard, divided into three buildings in front and back. The southernmost one is the Nanmu Hall, which is where the owner meets guests.
It is the largest and most complete Nanmu Hall in Yangzhou. There is a beautiful bamboo forest in front of the hall. Behind the Nanmu Hall are two brick-wood double-story buildings with exotic styles, called Yuxiu Building. The buildings are spacious and large, with small courtyards between them. Magnolias and hydrangeas are planted in the courtyards, with a small amount of rocks, flowers and plants, making it quiet and lively.
There is a big locust tree in the courtyard. It is said that there were two locust trees in the past, but now there is only one. Yuxiu Building incorporates some Western architectural techniques. At the same time, in terms of residential functions and human needs, there are also some commendable details, such as French shutters, Japanese sliding doors, French fireplaces, iron beds, etc.
Yuxiu Building is the collective name for two residential buildings that are placed side by side. The name Yuxiu comes from the magnolia and hydrangea trees planted in the courtyard. The main building of Yuxiu Building adopts the traditional Chinese concept of connecting buildings. The courtyard is surrounded by corridors.
The building is designed with one elevator per household and a separate suite with sliding doors, which is completely different from the traditional hall and room structure of Chinese houses. The chandeliers, fireplaces and other decorative details in the rooms and the carvings on the facades are also full of European style. Therefore, the He family called it a "foreign house" in the past.
The splendor of He Garden includes both landscape and humanities. Coming to the He Family Historical Materials Exhibition Room in Yuxiu Building can help Yunluo and Koala truly and specifically perceive the rise and fall history of a modern big family and the colorful and tortuous fate stories of the family members.
In the North Building Exhibition Hall, there is the legendary life experience of He Zhifu, the owner of He Garden, and the hardworking study of He Shenghao, the eldest son of the He family, which led to the aspirations of the grandfather and grandson to become Hanlin scholars.
There is a glorious history in which the second young master, He Zhonglu, inherited his father's legacy of promoting education and running schools, and supported his two sons, Shizhen and Shimei, two brothers with foreign PhDs from the University of Michigan, to establish Chizhi University.
There is also the charity story of the third young master He Shengrun donating to the "Hongchuan" life-saving ferry. In the South Building Exhibition Hall, there are the achievements and contributions made by Wang Chengshu and He Zuoxiu, a pair of cousins and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to the scientific cause of the motherland and the reconstruction of the national spirit, and the 60-year-long calligraphy and painting relationship between the traditional Chinese painting master Huang Binhong and four generations of the He family.
The owner's taste can be seen from his exquisite room layout. As soon as you enter, you can feel the strong European style. To the right of Yunluo and Koala is a French fireplace. Now Heyuan has built an exquisite garden and used scientific and technological methods to reproduce the scene of the owner's heating in the cold winter. The effect is very realistic.
There is also an electric fan in front of the bedside table that can bring coolness in the hot summer, warm in winter and cool in summer, and the quality of life is very high. This is also very appropriate to the identity of the owner of the garden. As the director of customs, he often deals with foreigners, so his vision is very broad.
The furniture in the room is basically original, donated by the descendants of the He family when they returned to the He Garden for a reunion. Next to the bedroom is the study of the owner of the garden. The overall construction of the Yuxiu Building is the same, with a sliding door in the middle, equivalent to the current suite, a Western-style phonograph, and a circle of gold-edged tiles on the fireplace, which were imported from abroad at the time. It has been more than 100 years, and the color has not faded.
The candle screen in front of you was copied later based on the photos donated by the descendants of the He family. After lighting the candle, light can be seen on both sides, which is very beautiful. The picture of Jianghan Panorama on the wall is where the owner of the garden worked in the past. The owner of the garden often reminisced about the past in this room. After leaving the Yuxiu South Tower and walking along the corridor to see the master's room, now visit Miss He's boudoir.
This young lady is He Zuoxian, the great-granddaughter of the garden owner. She is 100 years old this year. He Garden held an event called "Open the He Family Door and Welcome the He Family". She also came to He Garden, and the furnishings in the entire room were arranged according to her memories.
It can be seen that the young lady's talents are quite extensive, and she was influenced by Western culture very early. The second floor was once the young lady's boudoir, where the garden owner's daughter lived. In feudal society, young ladies were not allowed to meet people easily, so the garden owner sent "heavy troops" to guard it, and guests did not dare to cross the line.
Looking up, there is a square hole in the top corridor board, equipped with a pulley, which is specially used to deliver food and tea for the young lady. On the wall is an oil portrait of her when she was young, dignified and elegant, with the demeanor of a lady from a noble family, and the cheongsam and handbags on the hanger are also what she wore when she was young, all of which were donated by her. Therefore, Yuxiu Building is very European in appearance and interior structure, and it is a well-deserved Western-style house.
The theme building of Yuxiu Tower is two two-story brick and wood structures in front and back. It adopts the traditional Chinese concept of linked buildings and incorporates Western architectural techniques, such as French shutters, Japanese sliding doors, French fireplaces, wrought iron beds, etc.
In addition, there are some commendable details in reflecting the functions of residential buildings and human needs, such as ventilation holes on the ground and a nearly two-meter-high breathable layer built underground, etc., which shows the idea of the owner of the garden at that time to "keep pace with the years"!
The He family attached great importance to education. Both men and women received a good education. The room next to the young lady's boudoir was a place for the young lady to read, practice the piano, play chess, and draw. According to the family rule, the He family did not use maids, and the personal maids were married women. Zhao Ma was the female manager of the He family.
After leaving Yuxiu Tower, walk along the corridor to the east and enter the Horse Riding Tower, which is the guesthouse of He Garden. Riding a horse means a foreign land and a journey. The name of He Garden Guesthouse is named after the horse riding, which has a special meaning.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Another theory is that the Riding Building is shaped like a saddle and is divided into two buildings, the east and the west. The east building is also called the East First Building and the Zouma Building. To the north, the East Second Building and the East Third Building are neatly arranged. These three buildings are all two-story, connected front to back, and connected up and down, like a maze.
The East Building is also called the East First Building and the Zouma Building. The Chinese painting master Huang Binhong was the uncle of the eldest daughter-in-law of He Zhifu, the owner of He Garden. Huang Binhong came to Yangzhou six times in his life, for different periods of time, and he always lived in the East First Building. Huang Binhong was already 91 years old. In a long letter to his female disciple Gu Fei about painting, he once again recounted his experiences and observations when he came to Yangzhou and He Garden.
There are two courtyards between the East 1st Floor, the East 2nd Floor, and the East 3rd Floor. There is a corridor in the middle of the East 2nd Floor, connecting the front and back courtyards. This corridor in the middle of the East 2nd Floor was once the former residence of the famous writer Mr. Zhu Qianhua. Mr. Zhu Qianhua's family of five (parents, sisters and brothers) lived in this corridor in the middle of the East 2nd Floor for five years.
At that time, this corridor was enclosed by a back wall and became a living room. A wall was built inside the living room to divide it into two small rooms, front and back, for use as a residential building. Zhu Qianhua's profile: Member of the Chinese Writers Association, representative works include "Flowing Water and Blooming Flowers: Notes on Southern Plants", "Lingnan Field Notes", "Rain on Banana Leaves Falling in the Idle Garden: Lingnan Painting Boat Records", etc.
The Riding Building looks stable from the outside, as if it can be seen at a glance. When you walk in, you will find that there are three courtyards hidden in the building on the right. The halls are lined up, the doors are staggered, and the corridors are winding, like a maze. Located at the southernmost part of the park, Yugui Hall is the last building of the residential part. If you enter the park from the main gate of No. 18 Huayuan Lane, it is the first reception hall. (To be continued...)
