Most foreign shops will not close late because of the arrival of customers, especially private shops.
They seem to always focus on life. Making money? That is something below life. This is the difference between life and survival, below life and above survival.
At 9 o'clock in Seville, a new round of carnival had just begun. Yan Chenyu was no longer able to go crazy, and Yun Luo and his partner were not much better, so they simply headed home. It would be better to save their energy for the Cathedral and Alcazar tomorrow.
Look, this is the architecture of Spain, each one has a different style. By now, the journey is halfway through, and I wonder what kind of surprises Yunluo and Yan Chenyu will see on the rest of the journey.
Seville is the most economically developed city in Andalusia, and also the most expensive city. However, it is not difficult to find a supermarket here, and the prices in supermarkets are basically the same as in other cities. The building itself is also a beautiful building.
The night view is very beautiful, with golden light and bright lights. After dinner, walking on the main street, you can fully experience the infinite charm of a city at night.
Alcazar of Seville - Seville Cathedral - September Carnival
Following the route they took yesterday, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu came to the cathedral again. They passed the Alcazar Castle first, so they went here first.
The Alcazar Castle is on the south side of the Plaza de Triomphe, and the Seville Cathedral is almost next to it. The cathedral seen from this angle is really spectacular.
When I looked back while waiting in line, I saw this guy just standing there and being lazy. When you see such a carriage on the streets of Seville, don't think you have traveled through time. In the 21st century, horse-drawn carriages are still common here.
The Alcazar was originally an Arab castle built in the first century AD. In 1364, it was expanded into a palace for the King of Spain. Today, King Carlos of Spain still stays here when he comes to Seville. Speaking of Spain, there are many names starting with "Al" (most castles seem to be called Alcazar).
We have to mention the Arabs again. This is a name derived from Arabic. This name is a symbol of the Moorish rule. In the end, what remains are the Moors or things after the Moors, because the historical relics before them, no matter how brilliant, will be destroyed by the later ones. Of course, the Roman aqueduct in Segovia is an exception.
The Alcazar Castle also has a strong Spanish style. As soon as you enter, you will see the shadow of the Alhambra Palace. In fact, the palace was not built by Arabs, but by Christian conquerors, who hired Islamic craftsmen nicknamed Peter the Cruel.
This architectural style is called mudejar, which refers to the Christian art style influenced by Arab art from the 12th to the 16th century after the restoration of Spain. Later, as time went by and dynasties changed, the palace was constantly repaired and expanded in line with the changes in European architectural styles, making this palace unique in Europe.
It is a clever mixture of Gothic, Spanish Islamic, Modejar, Baroque and more.
The exhibitions, ship models and huge tapestries in the Alcazar Castle all demonstrate Spain's status as a maritime power at that time. Yes, how can a Spanish museum be without objects related to navigation? It was here that Columbus met with the "two kings" Ferdinand and Isabel. He obtained funding from the queen and started his journey to discover the New World.
The castle is even more wonderful in the back garden of the palace. It is the oldest royal palace garden in Europe so far and has been declared a world cultural heritage by UNESCO. The corridor is the most beautiful part of the garden, and of course, the fountain and the pool of clear water are indispensable.
Yunluo and Yan Chenyu sat on the bench by the pool for a long time. When there were so many new things in front of them, they didn't feel the pain in their legs and feet at all. Once they stopped, the fatigue of the past few days would come rushing back. It's still because of the lack of exercise! Each flower pot next to the bench was printed with the logo of the Alcazar Castle.
He was sitting next to him and had already started taking a nap. In fact, traveling was not his hobby, but every time Yunluo wanted to go out, he would try his best to accompany Yunluo on a long journey. Seeing him curled up in the chair tiredly, he felt a little distressed, a little guilty, and more moved.
Thank you for your company along the way. Even if you don’t like islands, you still accompanied Yunluo to the Maldives twice; even if you don’t like the sea, you still accompanied Yunluo to soak in the sea for two or three hours "watching the turtles swimming in the water."
In order for Yunluo to see the Cape of Good Hope, you accompanied Yunluo to fly 12,933 kilometers; in order to toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain at night, you accompanied Yunluo to walk across half of Rome.
Because of you, I was able to see the bright autumn sunshine in San Gimignano, walk along the coastal paths of Cinque Terre, and feel the warm breeze of the Amalfi Coast... These trips that I had originally planned to give up were finally realized one by one; because of you, Yunluo had the courage to gallop in the desert of Dubai and sit in the San Siro Stadium that I had seen countless times on TV.
When Yunluo fell asleep in bed, it was you who was still at 3 a.m. on the Italian Railways website checking train schedules, making itineraries, and buying tickets. When you woke up in the morning, a perfect itinerary and all the mini tickets were on the table. When Yunluo went to eat the most famous ice cream in Rome, it was you who looked at the map again and again, led Yunluo to find the way, and turned Yunluo's wish into a delicious treat that melted in your mouth.
The highest state of travel is to keep the scenery in your heart, not in your camera, and of course, experience. Of course, the indispensable experience is the person who accompanies you to see the scenery. You are the one who accompanies Yunluo to see the scenery, and helps Yunluo to fulfill his travel-related dreams, and together with Yunluo, he plans the next travel-related dream.
You said you would accompany Yunluo to Sicily to enjoy the warmest sunshine in Italy, to Rio de Janeiro to admire the greatest statue of Jesus, to the most beautiful Highway 1 in the United States for a self-driving carnival, and to see the world's most awesome Sagrada Familia after its completion. Many beautiful dreams need a lifetime to realize. Fortunately, Yunluo and Yan Chenyu still have a long life ahead of them.
Thank you so much, dear.
Before coming to Spain, I didn’t do as much research as I did for Italy. The only three classic images that remain in Yunluo’s mind are: the unfinished Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the red and white arches in the Mosque of Cordoba, and the tomb of Columbus in the Seville Cathedral, which is held up by four sea-god-like figures.
Let me start from the beginning.
After coming out of the Alcazar, although the Seville Cathedral was right in front of us, Yan Chenyu decided to miss such a wonderful building and sat in the square to rest - she was too tired (maybe she ate too much tapsa yesterday and had diarrhea)
Yunluo and Yan Chenyu were looking for the entrance to the cathedral. A handsome guy came over and asked where the entrance was. Yunluo said that Yunluo and Yan Chenyu were also looking for it, so they found the entrance together and toured the cathedral together.
The lights in Seville Cathedral are particularly dim, which highlights the beauty of the vault, which is supported by the side walls dozens of meters high. The huge space is so big that it doesn't feel like you are standing indoors. The church is a place to worship God, standing under the golden cross. Face up to the sky.
I was worried that the dome that symbolized heaven would collapse at this moment, and that my faith would also collapse because of some impulse. The former worry was not without reason, because the dome of Seville Cathedral had collapsed twice in history due to being overloaded. As for the latter worry, only I knew whether it was in vain.
Walking into the south door of the cathedral, an elaborate memorial statue quietly stands in the corner of the wall, with four bronze statues carrying Columbus's coffin. The four bronze statues represent the four Spanish kingdoms in the Age of Exploration: Castile, León, Aragon and Navarre. The two men in the front row.
The heavy cloak was embroidered with patterns of lions and castles, which were the national emblem of the Kingdom of Castile, the main body of Spain. This was a state funeral.
But this was a state funeral given to Columbus by the Spanish.
A little research on that period of history will reveal that in 1506, after his last exhausting voyage, Columbus died in Spain, the year the Seville Cathedral was officially completed. But Columbus's body was not buried directly in the cathedral.
Instead, it was not until 1899, nearly 400 years later, that the ship was brought back from the Caribbean. This was another trip to the New World. And all this was due to his lifelong dedication to sailing.
When Columbus died, he was poor and unknown. Not to mention a state funeral, he could not even return to his own country. Columbus discovered America. But he did not know his achievements until his death, nor did he know the impact of his discovery of the new world on the future. Because he did not bring back any money.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
The king who funded him was indifferent to him, and Columbus himself could not change his way of thinking and living, so he traveled far and wide again and again, and four ocean voyages finally exhausted his life.
It is said that in 2005, the coffin was opened and the DNA of the body inside was extracted for testing. In the first half of 2007, the conclusion was reached that the body in the coffin was indeed Columbus himself. If this is true, Columbus will be buried in the starting point of his voyage to realize his ideals, but Yunluo wants to know whether Columbus himself wants to return to his roots or to guard the new world he discovered forever.
When Yunluo actually stood at the foot of the Sagrada Familia, the biggest feeling was shock; when Yunluo was under the arch of the Great Mosque, it was like entering a dream; when Yunluo saw Columbus's tomb with his own eyes, he was more contemplative.
When talking about Columbus, we have to mention the discovery of the New World. Standing in front of his tomb, we can't help but think of the Indians. It is said that every year on Columbus Day, the Indians will hold protests because Columbus's discovery broke the primitive life of the Indians and they suffered bloody massacres. It is undeniable that Columbus also brought civilization and progress.
Maybe all heroes of that era were like this.
In addition to Columbus's tomb, the most attractive thing about Seville Cathedral is the Giralda Tower, which serves as a bell tower. Climbing up, you can see the beautiful scenery of the entire city of Seville. No separate ticket is required.
The way to reach the top of the Giralda Tower is very special. It is not an elevator or stairs, but a winding ramp. It is said that it was designed to facilitate the up and down of war horses. Now it greatly facilitates tourists with poor physical strength. There are a total of 30 floors, and you can climb up without any effort.
Yan Chenyu didn't go to climb the tower, Yunluo went up with the handsome guy mentioned earlier. This was the only time I walked alone on this trip, and I met a handsome guy. It is said that it is easy for single women to have romantic encounters when traveling, and I didn't expect to meet one of them.
As we were climbing the tower, we chatted and found out that he was a student from Morocco, born in 1992. OMG, it's hard to tell the age of foreigners. Seeing that Yunluo didn't believe him, he took out his passport to prove that he was under 20 years old. Well, Yunluo was stimulated again. Yunluo thought Morocco was so far away.
It's great to be able to travel far away by yourself at such a young age. Later, I thought, this is Spain, and Morocco is only a Gibraltar Strait away from here. Yunluo also thought that she was from China. Yunluo told him that she was Chinese, so he asked if she was in Japan.
The cloud fell! I have to tell him first that China and Japan are two different countries! Japan, Japan, along the way, whether tourists or locals, it seems that only Japanese people can recognize this look!
Later, when the topic of marriage came up, he refused to believe what Yunluo had told him about their marriage. He also said that he would be going to Madrid in two days and asked Yunluo if she was willing to go with him.
Little brat. Later, he told Yunluo about his views on marriage and the beliefs of the Arabs. It was already uncomfortable for two people whose mother tongue was not English to communicate in English, and they had to discuss such profound issues. Yunluo could only tell him to look at the scenery!
Without him, Yunluo could only enjoy the scenery of the whole city of Seville alone. Although Yunluo and Yan Chenyu had a random chat, the beautiful scenery in front of them was real. She also had to thank that handsome boy for accompanying Yunluo to see the places in Seville that Yunluo could not reach.
The beautiful Giralda Tower can be admired from the Orangery. The Orangery is a common sight in Spain, as it is the place where Muslims undergo spiritual absolution before entering the mosque. It is said that the Giralda Tower changes color with the light. When it was first built in 1184, it was originally the minaret of the mosque.
It is one of the three most majestic minarets in the world. In the early 16th century, the Catholics who reconquered Andalusia added a Catholic-style spire to the minaret. However, no matter how it was changed, the horseshoe-shaped windows on the four sides of the tower still announced its Islamic origin. Some history really cannot be changed, and all attempts to change it are futile and only make things more obvious.
Later, they met an old lady with red lips and a beautiful skirt. She danced and greeted Yunluo and Yan Chenyu, but she spoke in Spanish, and they couldn't understand what she wanted to say. But later, the night's revelry told Yunluo and Yan Chenyu that the old lady wanted to invite Yunluo and Yan Chenyu to join their team, to have fun and dance together.
