When I pushed open the door of the restaurant, there were not many customers in the restaurant. There was only a young man drinking and chatting with a few elderly people at the bar, and the melody of "Hotel California" was echoing in the room.
Looking around the restaurant, I saw old jukeboxes, cigarette machines and various old items placed against the wall. A large axe, an oil saw and large cutting gears were hung on the wall.
Don't think in the wrong way, listen to Yunluo. There is also a piece of photos on the wall. Huh? Isn't the person in the photo the young man at the bar? Some of the discolored photos record the young man's life experience, as well as his friends and customers.
After looking at the menu on the blackboard on the wall, I went to the bar to order. When ordering, I accidentally heard the old man ask the waitress, "Is that the one driving Jack, who was there at the time?" "Sorry, there was no one in that car." Yunluo instantly saw the big photo on the wall and understood why this restaurant had so many "heavy weapons".
This must have been a logging town in the past, and these old people were the builders and frequent visitors here. The photos record their youthful memories. I didn't interrupt their conversation, letting the old people continue to immerse themselves in their memories, and Yunluo was also infected by the traces of time revealed by this restaurant!
After a while, An Qingjue and Yunluo's meal arrived. At first glance, An Qingjue and Yunluo regretted their decision. The burgers and sandwiches were big enough, and three would have been enough.
Although the town is far from the central area, the ingredients are very fresh. Every dish has been praised by An Qingju and Yunluo. It is no exaggeration to call it the best burger and sandwich of An Qingju and Yunluo's trip. After eating, I asked the young man for directions and arrived at the entrance of the treopwalk from here. Here is a brief introduction to the scenic spot. In fact, whether it is the treetop walk. Or the road that An Qingju and Yunluo are going to) area, covering an area of 100,000 hectares. The treetop walk is a steel aerial walkway that passes through the tallest treetops in Australia. It is about 600 meters long and 45 meters high at the highest point. It can withstand strong winds of 280kmh.
It is the longest and highest treetop walkway of its kind in the world. Although it took a huge amount of manpower and material resources to build it, the social and economic benefits it has gained now far exceed the benefits of cutting down the rainforest, bringing a unique experience to tourists.
The ticket I bought in Lorne came in handy at this time. After showing it, I entered the park for a walking tour. The road was surrounded by tall trees and ferns. Following the road signs, I soon arrived at the entrance of the passage. After playing around, the overall feeling was very good. There was a passage that was more interesting.
Get in the car and take out your camera to check the map you took in the town. If you continue along the road at this point, you can drive back to the Great Ocean Road. But you will miss the lighthouse and have to go back a long way.
Another option is to go back along the way we just came. There is a dirt road heading south near the town, which can directly connect to the Great Ocean Road, and the lighthouse is not far away. After discussion, we once again showed our spirit of taking an unconventional path today, and returned to the town and took the binnsrd and airevalleyrd roads to get back on the Great Ocean Road.
This road can be said to be the wildest part of this self-driving journey. But the navigation is still meticulous. The whole road is gravel but relatively flat. It is about 30km and took 40-50 minutes to drive. Judging from the signs on both sides, there are many trucks here. There are no landscapes along the way, but there are surprises.
An Qingjue and Yunluo saw a total of 5 groups of red parrots, with as many as 10 parrots, so Yunluo preferred to name this road in his own way: "Parrot Path".
Finally we turned onto the Great Ocean Road. The road was so smooth that it was a little hard to get used to. Following the road signs, we turned left and drove onto the road to the lighthouse. Once we got on this road, everyone in the car had to be alert. Why? Because there were koalas here! Although the guides I had read before said there was a eucalyptus forest there, we didn't know where it was.
The car drove for a while. Suddenly, the friend who was driving shouted, "Koala!" Is it true that we can see koalas while driving? We got out of the car and took a look. We were lucky! There was more than one koala on the tree. We took a lot of photos. The cars behind us pulled over and joined the team taking photos. We stopped and started along the way and saw at least a dozen koalas.
The closest encounter with a koala was when I was returning from the lighthouse and passed by this door (the ground was paved with iron pipes). I also heard the koala's cry here, which was very inconsistent with its identity, a bit like the cry of a cow. If you still can't find a koala after reading this post, you can only blame yourself.
I didn't plan to go to the lighthouse, so I didn't buy a ticket in Lorne. I just wanted to see the scenery around. After I arrived, I found that the Australian people here are a bit unkind. The entrance is built very far in front, and you have to walk for a while before you get there. If you don't buy a ticket, you can't even see the sea, let alone the lighthouse.
In this case, buy a ticket and go in. Don't leave any regrets. In general, this lighthouse is more plain than the one An Qingju and Yunluo saw yesterday. It is not beautiful, but the surrounding view is good, much better than yesterday. This lighthouse is ranked second in the end. A more beautiful lighthouse is still waiting for An Qingju and Yunluo in Tasmania.
After leaving here, An Qingju and Yunluo started to rush to the most important attraction of the day - the 12 Apostles Scenic Area. After driving back to the Great Ocean Road from Lighthouse Road, from this section of road to Gibson Steps, most of the time you will be away from the sea view and travel on the mountain road instead.
After a while, the sea view began to reappear on the left side of the road. At this time, pay attention to the signs on the side of the road. After seeing the sign for GibsonSteps, An Qingjue and Yunluo stopped the car to take pictures. This is also the only nearby attraction that allows you to go down to the beach.
An Qingjue and Yunluo live in an independent red brick house, which is much bigger than yesterday and clean and tidy. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room, and is worth recommending.
Let's look from left to right. After arriving at the last parking lot, there was still a long way to the viewing point. As the sun was about to set, An Qingju, Yunluo and the other two ran wildly in their jackets against the wind. It was past 8 o'clock and they still hadn't eaten. You can imagine how it felt. When they got to the end, they still hadn't eaten. They walked for another half a day before returning to the parking lot.
It was only afterwards that I found out that the place where An Qingjue and Yunluo were doing long-distance running today was the Loch Ard Gorge, which is also a famous scenic spot.
Dragging my tired body, it was already past 9pm when I drove back to the town. Most of the restaurants and shops in the town were closed. Could it be so unlucky? Suddenly I saw a restaurant still open. After a closer look, it turned out to be the Waves mentioned in the guide.
I parked the car quickly and went in to ask what I wanted to eat. Then I ordered some dishes. The dish that impressed Yunlu the most was the ginger fish rice that Yunluo ordered. The taste was very special and worth trying.
The meal cost 95.5 dollars for 4 people. It was OK. The waiters here were very friendly and helpful. When leaving, they actually said "goodbye" in Chinese to An Qingjue and Yunluo. This was the first time I heard a foreigner greet An Qingjue and Yunluo in Chinese, so I quickly said to the guy, "ese is very good". The guy smiled shyly when he heard it.
When they walked out of the restaurant, a police car drove over and stopped after seeing An Qingjue and Yunluo. Did An Qingjue and Yunluo commit a crime? Before they had time to think about it, the policeman said "Hello". It turned out that he was here to practice speaking. However, these two Chinese sentences made Yunluo feel warm every time he thought of this small town.
Last night, I checked the posts I had read before on my iPad and finally understood the location of the 12 disciples. I can only blame myself for being careless when doing my homework and missing the sunset of the 12 disciples.
There is a road sign for the 12 disciples, but it doesn't say 12 disciples. It seems to be xx Park. On the right side of the road, there is a good paved road extending into it. There is a sightseeing helicopter and a more conspicuous visitor center. When visiting, you need to walk through the underground passage across the highway to the other side to see the scenery.
I actually passed by here yesterday, but I didn't notice it. Why don't you write the names of the 12 disciples on such a famous attraction? Let's get off the bus quickly to make up for yesterday's regret.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
After leaving these two attractions, we set the destination to Warrnambool. Not far ahead, when we passed a small town, the navigation led An Qingju and Yunluo to leave the Great Ocean Road and start traveling between the ranches. The roads connecting the ranches were in good condition, and we could see cattle and sheep on both sides of the ranch as well as large irrigation machines from time to time.
It was so relaxing to wander in the ranch scenery. Around noon, An Qingju and Yunluo drove back to the Great Ocean Road and arrived at Warrnambool via Princeshwy. Warrnambool is a place where you can watch whales, but it's a pity that it's not the season. When approaching the town, we could clearly feel the increase in vehicles, and 4S stores selling cars began to appear on both sides.
This signal told Yunluo that this would be a very large town. Sure enough, after running wildly in the wild for a few days, An Qingju and Yunluo finally found some urban feeling here.
We had lunch at McDonald's. When we went in, we realized what cheap means. A meal for four people cost only $25.5. Yunluo didn't eat these things much in China, but today he thought they tasted pretty good, especially the fries. Later on the trip, we had dinner at McDonald's several times, and the taste of the fries still makes Yunluo linger.
After dinner, I drove on Prince Shwy to Melbourne. Shortly after I got on the highway, the navigation suddenly told An Qingju and Yunluo to get off the highway, which seemed to be causing trouble. I ignored it and continued driving.
But after walking a few steps, a message appeared in front of me saying that the road was blocked and I had to take a detour. While the iPad still had signal, I simply checked the map and turned around to walk back. I actually walked on the road that the navigation had pointed to. I took a short detour along this road and successfully returned to Princeshwy. Beautiful!
Someone said, is this navigation so accurate? Yunluo said, this is "a coincidence, a coincidence (extremely)". Because Yunluo did not turn on the traffic update, the navigation system would not know the road conditions, it just happened to let An Qingju and Yunluo take a detour.
After driving for more than ten minutes, we arrived near a farm. A sign in front of us made Yunluo feel a little overwhelmed: "Road is blocked, please take a detour." There was a bridge in front of us, the river was rushing below, and there were some sandbags on the roadside. I have read so many guides, but I have never seen such a tortuous way back to Melbourne.
Although the floods in Queensland are well known to the world, Victoria is not so peaceful either, and floods occasionally occur in some areas. I quickly got off the car to ask for directions. I asked the uncle walking his dog next to me, but he still couldn't explain it to me after several rounds. I had to look at the remaining map on my iPad and found that there should be a detour ahead, so I got in the car. This section of the road was probably a few kilometers away.
After walking a short distance on the gravel road, we found a lot of sunburned water plants on both sides of the road. The air was filled with fishy smells, which seemed to indicate that a flood had passed through here not long ago. We returned to Princeshwy without taking any detours. From then on, An Qingju and Yunluo finally embarked on a smooth journey. (To be continued...)
