Fireworks Day 1340

Because this is just the Medici family chapel, but for the sculptures designed by Michelangelo, they decided to go in for a walk. So Yunluo and An Chuyu's trip to Florence almost became a trip to visit the Medici family, but Yunluo thought it was worth it! Until now, when Yunluo recalls Florence, the Medici Chapel is the most amazing place for Yunluo.

First, let’s talk about the relationship between the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapels. As mentioned in the previous part of the itinerary in Rome, generally large churches have a main hall and a small chapel, and the Basilica of San Lorenzo also consists of three spaces with different architectural styles from three different eras - the Old Sacristy built by Brunelleschi and the New Sacristy built by Michelangelo.

The 17th century Monarch Chapel. The New Sacristy refers to the Medici Chapel behind the church. Yunluo was deeply shocked by the Medici Chapel. On that day, Yunluo rated this attraction as the most impressive attraction so far. Now, looking back, this spot is still ranked in the top 3 among all the attractions in Italy!

Why? Yunluo saw the style and aura of aristocrats rather than nouveau riche! The place he just entered was plain, with only some inscriptions, handicrafts and the like. There was a heavier decoration that Yunluo loved! He quickly took a photo of it, and Yunluo called it death worship.

I really want my descendants to do the same for Yun Luo in the future^_^ When I walked into the main room, I was instantly blinded by the sight I saw! This is a noble existence that cannot be matched by the magnificent palace! All the words I imagined in my mind are not enough to describe such elegance. The entire wall and floor are exquisite and smooth marble, although there are no complex and gorgeous patterns.

But the simple stripes are so majestic. Full of style! There is no aura of a wealthy nouveau riche. In short, Yunluo was deeply shocked. However, there are no photos left here, and it is impossible to capture the magnificent effect. I think he was so shocked that he didn't care about taking pictures.

There are six coffins hanging on the wall, all of which are carved from top-quality marble. Of course, they all have the Medici family's medicine ball logo on them:) The names of the six lucky and distinguished family members are engraved on them. Yun Luo has always wondered whether the remains are placed in the middle or just as a symbol?

Anyway, if you can rest here forever, you will be happy in your grave. The magnificent dome. Going further in, you will find the mausoleums of the two most famous elders of the Medici family, and the sculptures above them created by Michelangelo in his later years. On one side is the statue of Giuliano de' Medici and the coffin. On each side of the gentle slope is a male and female statue, named "Day" and "Night".

On the other side is the statue of Lorenzo de' Medici and the tomb. On each side of the gentle slope is a male and female statue, named "Evening" and "Morning". These statues were commissioned by the Medici family to build for Michelangelo after they were driven out of Florence and then recaptured Florence. They were able to forgive Michelangelo's "betrayal" during their downfall.

Yunluo was moved by such broad-mindedness and love for art. After leaving the Medici Chapel, he couldn't calm down for a long time. Then he came to the next attraction - Basilica Santa Croce. Basilica Santa Croce is the largest church of the Franciscan denomination. It is a fairly standard secondary cathedral.

After that, the interior structure of most European Catholic churches was developed based on the form of this church. This church is the burial place of many famous people in Tuscany and even Italy, including Dante, Galileo, Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Marconi, etc. In line with the purpose of star-chasing, Yunluo and Anchu came here to pay homage to each one.

The exterior and interior of this church are somewhat similar to Santa Maria del Fiore, including the stained glass inside. It is not very gorgeous. The decoration is slightly dark in color. I got a map and walked around. There are many exquisite murals and artworks, which are worth stopping. There are really many celebrities buried here.

The most famous ones should be Michelangelo and Galileo (Dante's tomb is also here, but his body is not here). These celebrities were brilliant in their lifetime, but they are nothing but dust after death. Michelangelo's tomb was designed by his students, and the sculptures on the coffin are very similar to those he designed for the Medici Chapel.

There is a staircase above Galileo's tomb. It seems to symbolize climbing to the peak of science. Galileo was mentioned in the last episode of the BBC documentary. As a teacher of the Medici family, his contribution to the scientific community is obvious to all. He was once respected and appreciated by the court (church). However, everything changed after he proposed the heliocentric theory.

Although his work was published in a very obscure way (a dialogue between two scientists), the widespread dissemination of this theory obviously violated the core values of the Catholic Church that "the earth is the center of the universe". As a result, Galileo was arrested and taken from Florence to Rome for punishment. The Medici family did their best but failed to keep him.

At the end of the documentary, the Medici family completely announced that they would give up all funding for Galileo. Faced with power and interests, this noble family still chose to compromise. It was heartbreaking to see the old and frail Galileo kneeling on his knees and prostrating himself in the Vatican Basilica, loudly announcing that he recognized the earth as the center of the universe.

Hundreds of years later, the church vindicated him and cleared his grievances. After leaving the Basilica of Santa Croce, Yunluo and An Chuyu walked to the Arno River again. The blue sky, white clouds, green trees and red tiles were still beautiful! They found a small shop by the river and had a simple meal:) After the meal, Yunluo and An Chuyu hurried to the most famous Uffizi Gallery.

As expected, there was a long queue at the entrance. Yun Luo secretly felt lucky and took out his Florence Pass and handed it to the guard to ask him. As a result, he came back and said that this card could not be used to buy tickets directly. He was stunned and looked at the words on the card carefully.

It was too vague. The general meaning was that you could buy tickets through their travel agency, so you don't have to wait in line. Yunluo and An Chuyu didn't give up. They went back to the window at the train station and the newsstand they had been at before, but were told that they didn't accept any applications. They made several more phone calls, but were always rejected. So they were basically sure that this was a fake fraud company.

It went bankrupt because it couldn't continue! At this time, Yunluo and An Chuyu wasted a lot of time going back and forth. An Chuyu said that they should just give up the Uffizi and go directly to the Pitti Palace on the other side of the river. Although 555 was unwilling, he really didn't feel like queuing again. This lesson taught Yunluo and An Chuyu that when ordering travel products, they should still choose big brands with good reputations.

But Yunluo also saw the discount information on Qiongyou this time. I didn't expect it. Well, let's just take it as a lesson! By the way, the real Florence Pass is called firenzecards, which costs 72 euros. Although it is quite expensive, it basically covers all the famous attractions and has a special channel, which is very useful if you stay in Florence for a long time.

It is still very cost-effective. Uffizi means office in Italian. It used to be the office of the Grand Duke of the Medici family. Later, the descendants of the family donated all the collections to the government, and it became a public art gallery. Now the gallery mainly exhibits paintings. Other sculptures are placed in the Bargello Gallery.

The museum has a collection of more than 100,000 exhibits, which are divided into 46 exhibition halls according to the creation time and creation style. The most famous ones include Botticelli's "Spring" and "The Birth of Venus", Leonardo da Vinci's "The Adoration of the Magi", Michelangelo's "The Holy Family" and Titian's "Venus of Urbino".

Missing the Uffizi was the biggest regret of this trip (the second was missing St. Peter's Basilica), especially after watching the BBC documentary, I had a great yearning for Botticelli's "Primavera" and "The Birth of Venus". So I put it on one of my goals for the next trip to Italy! After crossing the Arno River, we arrived at the Pitti Palace.

The Pitti Palace (Palazzopitti) was originally the residence of a Florentine banker, Luca Pitti, when it was built in 1458. The famous architect Brunelleschi served as the chief designer. At that time, Pitti built this palace to show that his power was not inferior to that of the Medici family, but when it was halfway through, it could not be completed due to lack of money.

This is typical nouveau riche behavior! The reason why the Medici family has such a status is definitely inseparable from the family's ancestral teachings of low-key and steady. In 1539, the palace was purchased by the Medici family and used as the main residence of the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Through generations of accumulation, the Pitti Palace gradually stored a large number of paintings.

The Pitti Palace was built in 1801 and was used by the Italians to house the remains of the Pitti Palace. The palace was built in 1801 and was used by the Italians to house the remains of the Pitti Palace. The Pitti Palace ...

The Medici family also built the Renaissance-style Boboli Private Gardens behind the palace to entertain distinguished guests. Yunluo told An Chuyu that they had been to museums for so long that they might as well go to the gardens. An Chuyu said that there was nothing to see in the gardens, and that they came here to see the treasures of literature and art.

So Yunluo and An Chuyu only bought tickets for the Pitti Palace, and it turned out that this was a very wise choice! Because the garden is indeed a large green space with a large area and few attractions. The interior is completely different. The gallery with a large collection of famous works is very pleasant, which quickly dilutes the regret of missing the Uffizi!

The third floor is a modern art exhibition, and the second floor is a real precious collection from the Renaissance! All the masterpieces that the Uffizi couldn't fit in were moved here. I found a balcony door that was ajar, so I pushed it open and went in. The panoramic view of Florence on the other side of the river came into view. I can't say anything, just three words, it's beautiful!

This scene must be the same as it was hundreds of years ago. I took a few photos in a hurry, and was soon chased by the staff and asked to leave. One person even blamed the other for not locking the door. It seems that Yunluo and An Chuyu got a bargain. Okay, here are some pictures of the collection~ Many of the frames here are placed diagonally, and if you look closely, they are all masterpieces by famous artists.

For example, Raphael, Titian and others, it seems that the exhibition hall has also taken great pains for Yunluo and other star chasers, very human! Raphael's knockoff version of "Mona Lisa". The master was also immature once! Raphael's self-portrait, the handsome man is not in vain~ Raphael's masterpieces, I believe many people have seen these two paintings.

Yunluo thinks Raphael's painting style is relatively uniform, which is clean and fresh, with precise shapes and almost no traces of brushstrokes, just like a printed photo. It is said that in order to achieve such an effect, many people will repeatedly grind and re-color the paintings until they are smooth, and the subsequent popular Impressionism emphasizes freedom.

There are brushstrokes everywhere. I personally prefer Raphael's school of painting. Boboli Gardens. Interior decoration. There are many valuable paintings in the Pitti Palace, and you can also see some gorgeous interior decorations of that time. In short, this attraction is worth a visit! After leaving the Pitti Palace, Yunluo and An Chuyu prepared to go to the small church that An Chuyu booked to listen to the opera after dinner.

We walked along the famous old bridge. After dinner, we went to the chapel, where slips of paper with names were placed on the seats. The chapel was small but cozy. The play was the classic "Madame Butterfly". It tells the story of a Japanese singer who was abandoned by an American officer and eventually committed suicide.

Because I couldn't understand it at all, I could only watch the show. When the halftime ended, Yunluo told An Chuyu that they should leave. An Chuyu was still not satisfied and said he would leave after watching it. So Yunluo had to listen to the whole show patiently, but this was also a respect for the actors. The performance was indeed great, and the singing skills were great!

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

The heroine is so beautiful~ After enjoying the opera. Yunluo and An Chuyu dragged their exhausted bodies back to the hotel, their legs were almost at their limit. Along the way, they passed a luxury street, which was very connotative and high-end. This trip made Yunluo understand why Italy is rich in luxury goods. That is their culture, and it is definitely not for selling at high prices.

The so-called luxury goods are the value reflected by the large amount of human effort spent on an item. Look at the spirit of their artists who spend years or even decades to create a work. When you think of Yunluo and An Chuyu's eagerness for quick success, you really can't understand the true meaning of luxury goods.

If the rich buy luxury goods just to show off, isn’t that a blasphemy to the goods themselves? The trip to Florence ended in a hurry. There were too many essences to savor. I look forward to meeting you again next time!

Someone actually said that coming here is like coming to Zhouzhuang, Yunluo was speechless. Yunluo's favorite city on this trip is Venice. Such a place that combines many miracles such as geography, history, and culture is bizarre and can definitely be called the best in the world. Similarly. You can watch a BBC documentary before the trip.

《A romantic dream floating on the blue water: Venice》. Florence boarded the train to Venice, still from Italo. The train first passed through the inland station of Venice. Then it arrived at the terminal, which is the main island train station. Venice is a precious place where every inch of land is worth a lot of money. The accommodation fee on the main island is very high, so some tourists choose to stay inland.

Then they took a bus to the main island. But this was not very convenient after all, so Yunluo and An Chuyu decisively chose a three-star hotel next to the main island train station based on the principle of convenient transportation, saving time and effort. After getting off the train, they were facing the Grand Canal and were so excited that they could not express it in words.

First, we dragged our suitcases to find a hotel. This time, the hotel was closer to the station than Florence, and the conditions were pretty good. When we checked in, the front desk said we could only check in after 2 o'clock, and there were no rooms available, so Yunluo and An Chuyu had to put their luggage downstairs and start their trip to Venice!

They first went to the tourist center nearby to get a Venice Pass. This time Yunluo and An Chuyu made sure it was an official product called veneziaunica, and they directly chose the most expensive one at 39.9 euros. They thought it was the same as the Florence Pass and basically covered all the attractions. But they were dumbfounded again.

There are 20 churches you can enter, but they are all small and unknown churches, and you have to go out of your way to see them. The museums included, except for the Duke's Palace, are basically all unknown small attractions, and the ticket price for the Duke's Palace alone is only 17 euros. In short, I was impulsive and didn't do my homework well.

But fortunately it was not a big loss. Another thing is the bus ticket. The bus ticket in Venice costs 7 euros for a one-way trip. Most tourists will not buy this kind of ticket. It is 20 euros for 24 hours and 30 euros for 48 hours. Yunluo and An Chuyu planned to walk on the first day and buy a 24-hour ticket on the second morning.

Venice is made up of 118 small islands, connected by 177 waterways and 401 bridges, and connected by boats. There is no land transportation on the main island, and it relies entirely on water transportation. In the past, residents used gondolas to travel everywhere, but now gondolas are basically just a tourist attraction for tourists to choose.

The main water transportation should be public boats and speedboats owned by each family. In the past, Yunluo had always been curious about how the houses in Venice were built. After watching the documentary, he had a rough idea that wooden piles were driven into the water and deep into the soil, and then the foundation was built on this basis.

The peculiar terrain here made Yunluo and An Chuyu dizzy even with the map in hand, because you don’t know which way to take or which bridge to cross to the other side of the river. However, Yunluo thinks that the most comfortable way to be on the island is to take a carefree stroll and go wherever you want, because there are surprises everywhere!

Of course, if you are heading for a major tourist attraction, you will not get lost. For one thing, it is definitely right to follow the flow of people, and for another, there are signs for popular tourist attractions at many intersections. The most central attraction in Venice is the area around Piazza San Marco. Yunluo and An Chuyu walked in this direction. (To be continued...)
