Section 1075: Taking Refuge

Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's African driver enjoyed standing next to the geothermal water vapor. They took off their shirts, let the hot steam hit their faces, and felt the real sauna of nature.

Yunluo walked to the lake and tried to wade across, looking for a better shooting position. She tried to go into the water, but the boiling hot water scalded her so much that she felt extremely painful. Fortunately, she took small steps and only went in a little bit, otherwise the consequences would have been disastrous.

The wonders of nature are so magical and shocking. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo, a few photographers who barged in rashly, took pictures to their heart's content by the lake and enjoyed the extremely wonderful shooting scenes. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo are such extravagant photography enthusiasts, and there are not many of them in the world.

Being able to personally experience and enjoy this masterpiece of nature, Yunluo's 40g of photography is far from enough. Can this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity satisfy Yunluo's desire for photography?

Yunluo sat in the hotel room, enjoying writing. The sound of the wind and the chirping of birds were in his ears. The room was neither too cold nor too hot. He drank some fragrant tea and wrote with no distractions in his mind. What a rare opportunity it was. There were too many utilitarianism and complicated things in the lives of Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo, and there was almost no moment of peace.

Today, Yunluo found peace and tranquility in the Bogoria Nature Reserve on the African savannah. Yunluo enjoyed it very much. Maybe sleeping is an enjoyment for others, but every minute and second in Africa is a rare moment for Yunluo. Yunluo was reluctant to spend his trip in Africa sleeping, and Yunluo was also very tired.

Yunluo is also an ordinary little person, but Yunluo is a hardworking person. Yunluo's trip to Africa is full of expectations from too many family members and friends. Yunluo's ability is limited. Yunluo can only be full of 100% passion and energy, and use Yunluo's understanding to complete the days and nights of Yunluo's trip to Africa.

Generally speaking, Antarctic travel involves boarding a ship in Ushuaia, Argentina, and then crossing the Drake Passage. Of course, you can also reach Antarctica from Chile, South Africa, or even New Zealand. The company that Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo joined usually has several itineraries to choose from every winter, which is the summer in Antarctica.

Different itineraries have slightly different lengths of time and destinations, and the scenery you see at different times is also different. Short trips can last more than ten days or even nearly a month.

Different itineraries have different prices, but the prices also vary greatly depending on the facilities on the ships. On the day Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo boarded the ship in Ushuaia, another ship from their company that had returned from Antarctica arrived in Ushuaia. Each ship has its own characteristics and some special attractions.

For example, the special experience program of the ship returning on the same day is kayaking and tenting in Antarctica. In addition, if you choose the trip in February, you can see the magnificent little penguins fresh out of the oven, which is also very spectacular. In short, if you have the conditions, you must go to Antarctica once.

Go there with the ones you love most, and keep it in your memory. And don't feel like you're missing out because you didn't see something that others didn't see.

Antarctica always feels very mysterious, but because of the high ultraviolet rays, a lot of snow, and dry air, you still need to bring some essential items.

After Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo joined the tour, the travel company prepared jackets (issued after boarding the ship), waterproof boots for landing, hats and gloves, and travel storage bags for Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo in advance.

Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo need to carry other things by themselves. Nalan Shiqi suggested that the following things must be brought to Antarctica: dark sunglasses, high-power outdoor sunscreen, sunscreen moisturizing lipstick, and moisturizing cream.

These things are really must-haves. Sunglasses are for protecting against the high-intensity ultraviolet rays in Antarctica and preventing snow blindness; skin care products are of course for sun protection and hydration.

Although Antarctica is full of glaciers and water, it is very dry due to the climate, so moisturizing is a must. Even though Nalan Shiqi applied a lot of sunscreen every time, she still got tanned, and it took a month for her face skin to fully recover because she peeled twice. In addition, you don’t need to bring a lot of underwear and socks as long as you are not lazy (Nalan Shiqi brought too much).

Because the air is very dry, if you have time to wash it, it will dry quickly, which is equivalent to adding some humidity to the cabin.

In fact, when many people think of Antarctica, they think it is a very, very cold place. It seems that there is ice and snow everywhere. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo also thought it was quite cold before they went there. The staff of the travel agency kept reminding them that it was about 0 degrees, but Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo directly felt that this 0 degrees was minus 20 degrees.

What's more, one of our group members brought 8 sweaters, but only needed one. So you don't really need to prepare too many clothes for Antarctica. It's just like winter in the south, because there are jackets on the boat. In addition, because it is summer in the southern hemisphere, you also need to prepare summer clothes.

Nalanshiqi and Yunluo are all included in the one-stop travel agency, so they arranged everything in advance. Nalanshiqi and Yunluo will stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina for four nights. They will stay in the same hotel, the Sheraton Hotel in Puerto Madero.

Because it is close to the port, Nalanshiqi and Yunluo can enjoy the beautiful water view in the first two nights they stayed, and the rooms opposite for the next two nights have a park view. The location is very good, and it is about 30 minutes' drive from the airport. It is very close to the city center by foot or taxi. The hotel environment is very good, the food is also good, and it is generally very satisfactory.

In addition, Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo will stay on the ship for 10 nights. The ship they are on is the Ponant Coronado Borealis, which was launched in 2010. This ship belongs to France and is the most comfortable and advanced ship in Antarctic cruise ships, whether it is its balance system, icebreaking system and so on.

The facilities on the ship are relatively new, and the rooms are of suitable size, with different sizes and layouts depending on the price. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo's rooms are basic 18 square meters. Although compact, they are fully equipped, and the balcony is also very good, with a good view.

In addition, Captain Etienne Garcia has extensive Antarctic experience. A Frenchman, he has been the captain of the Corona Borealis since 2010, and he was the first captain to lead Ponant's new ship Lesoleal through the Northwest Passage in the summer of 2012.

Since you will pass through Argentina when you go to Antarctica, you can only bring US dollars, and of course you must have an international credit card. 1 US dollar = 6 pesos; 1 RMB = 0.9759 pesos. So if you use this exchange rate, you can basically spend the same amount of RMB as the pesos you spend in Argentina, and you don't have to bother converting.

However, due to the recent economic downturn in Argentina, the peso has been depreciating. In the local black market, 1 US dollar can usually be exchanged for 9 pesos. However, after Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo arrived, they could only exchange with the tour guide, who exchanged them at 1 US dollar = 8 pesos. In short, when buying things in Argentina, you can exchange them with RMB at a 1:1 ratio to see if it is worth it.

Argentina was once a Spanish colony, and many locals are descendants of Spanish Europeans. Their official language is Spanish, and some people can speak English. But in fact, there is no problem with English, and Argentines are very kind.

The season when Nalanshiqi and Yunluo went is the late spring and early summer in Argentina, with the highest temperature of about 31 degrees. The sun is very bright every day, and the air is dry, which is more like the summer in the north. However, the second city in Argentina where Nalanshiqi and Yunluo went is also the southernmost city in the world.

Ushuaia is relatively cold. It is the southernmost part, surrounded by the sea on three sides, and its latitude has reached 54 degrees south. So even though it is early summer, it is still very cold, with the temperature only a few degrees.

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo are traveling now, and they seem to be particularly concerned about whether there is network. Fortunately, although Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo went to a deserted place, there was always network signal, although it was charged. Hotels in Argentina are more affordable, 69 pesos for 24 hours.

Although there is wifi on the ship, it is more expensive. 30 euros for 100 minutes, 60 euros for 240 minutes... The prices are tiered. Of course, these minutes can be turned off at any time.

Cumulative time. Under normal circumstances, if you have a lot of money, it doesn't matter. For people like Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo, they just go online once or twice a day to report safety to their families and post a few pictures on their Moments to share the beautiful pictures.

Actually, there is no place to shop during the whole trip, but every time I go to a new country, I always want to buy some special things. During the whole trip, you can buy some things in the pedestrian street of Buenos Aires, and another place is the small shop on the ship.

From the hotel in Buenos Aires, it takes about 15 minutes to walk along the road to a busy pedestrian street, where you can buy local specialties such as leather products and some souvenirs. Nalan Shiqi and Yunluo also went to the local flea market and handicraft market during one day's itinerary to buy some small items.

Argentina is an agricultural and animal husbandry country, their leather products are also very good, the price is much cheaper than that of European and American countries, many friends have bought some leather clothes, leather shoes, leather bags and some wool blankets, etc. In addition, Argentines like to drink yerba mate tea, which is very common in the local area, you can buy their yerba mate tea and teapot as a souvenir.

In addition, although the small shop on the ship is not big, many group members bought a lot of things. It mainly sells clothes, some customized brand clothes with the penguin logo, so it is very popular.

When traveling in Antarctica, you must abide by the provisions of the Antarctic Treaty, such as not discarding garbage at will, not taking away any stones, plants, animals, or bone fossils, not graffiti on stones, staying 5 meters away from penguins, absolutely not touching penguins and other animals, not destroying penguin paths or disturbing penguin eggs, and many other regulations. (To be continued..)
