"A Luo, it's so boring staying at home. Let's go out and play. You've never taken me on a trip." An Chuyu and Yan Chenyu were chatting and laughing as usual but she felt uncomfortable in her heart. She took Yan Chenyu's hand and came out together, then blocked Yun Luo's way.
"There is not enough time. I have to participate in the school's Oscar donation event tomorrow afternoon, Saturday. I'll wait until later." Yun Luo will be putting on a show with the school leaders of Jiangnan University tomorrow. Donating the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor to his alma mater will make both parties happy and will also bring positive coverage to the star Siren.
"Let's go to Wuzhen. It's very close. You've never taken me there before, so it's a good opportunity for me to go with Xiaoyu and Junzi. Humph, Qingju doesn't even know she has a sister like me lately. She just keeps having fun at school. I won't take her with me this time." An Chuyu had obviously planned this in advance and just took this opportunity to say it out loud.
Yunluo thought about it, looked at Yan Chenyu's pure and elegant eyes, looked at An Chuyu's expectant eyes, and nodded. Xiang Chuchunzi stood quietly and obediently behind Yunluo, like a delicate little maid.
The Husky Lord didn't know what was going to happen, so he pulled Yan Chenyu downstairs on a silver leash. Yan Chenyu felt vaguely that An Chuyu's suggestion to go to Wuzhen at this time was a demonstration and a declaration of sovereignty to her.
Wuzhen is one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. A stream runs through the town. The water is the street and the bank is the market. The houses on both sides of the river face the river, forming a charming water town. From time to time, black-sailed boats can be seen going back and forth in the water; the shops on the bank are lined up and the hawking sounds are endless.
The whole town is built along the river, with streets connected by bridges, houses built along the river, deep courtyards, high ridges and eaves, and riverside corridors. There are arcades across the street, bamboo and stone railings, and pavilions facing the river. It is ancient and quaint, and the town is integrated with the water, presenting a simple, bright and quiet atmosphere. It is a typical Jiangnan area with small bridges, flowing water and houses.
Yunluo and Xiangchu Chunzi walked together, holding the husky Jueye, while Yan Chenyu and An Chuyu walked in front of them, arm in arm. Xiangchu Chunzi followed Yunluo, and Yunluo followed the pair of best friends in front of her, occasionally chatting with Xiangchu Chunzi and appreciating the beautiful scenery of Wuzhen. Jueye was a cute animal and was photographed by many tourists.
The stone paths, old wooden houses and the scent of the clear lake water all seem to suggest a sentiment and an atmosphere. This small river is called Dongshi River, which connects the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The ancient houses on the other side of the river are still inhabited by people, so Wuzhen is a real ancient water town.
Hongyuantai Dyeing Workshop, Xiangchu Chunzi walked quietly beside Yunluo, but did not hold Yunluo's hand. The group walked into this ancient wooden door. It seemed that time had gone back a hundred years. The tradition of shop in front and spinning in the back was followed here. There was a courtyard here. It was also a place to dry cloth. In the courtyard, bamboo poles were raised high, and dozens of blue printed cloths were hung like prayer flags, which was spectacular.
Blue printed cloth, commonly known as lime printed cloth or printed blue cloth, is a traditional folk craft product with a history of thousands of years of printing and dyeing. It has always been popular among the people for its low price and good quality. Its raw materials, cloth and dyes are all from the countryside, and the craftsmanship is from the people. The patterns are full of strong rural flavor, and the themes are nothing more than flowers and plants, which are common next to farmhouses and ridges.
Friendly, natural and fresh. In addition, the elegant blue and white colors have distinct folk and national characteristics, and stand out in folk arts and crafts. In the past, every household in the rural areas of Jiangnan used blue printed cloth, which could be used to make curtains, headscarves, aprons, bags, quilts, tablecloths, etc. Many blue printed cloth products are exhibited in the Blue Print Collection Hall on the west side of the dyeing workshop.
The entire process is done manually, and the production process is very simple, but simple things can often better reflect the maker's spirit and understanding. In this workshop, you can personally observe and experience the hardship and fun of making blue printed cloth.
This is the exhibition hall. On the left is an introduction to the earliest prototype of blue print cloth, the clip box, modern engraving tools, modern printing tools, engraving drafts, painting boards, wooden barrels for mixing raw materials, and finally a knife for scraping slurry.
Yan Chenyu and An Chuyu walked into the exhibition hall and looked around and chatted. Yun Luo was very interesting and gently pinched Xiang Chuchunzi's soft jade-like hand in a place where the two girlfriends could not see. In the middle of the windows, there were many clothes, cloths, mosquito nets, headscarves and other items from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The Qingming Festival Along the River and Century Shanghai in the window are made using modern screen printing technology. They have won national competition awards and certificates. Compared with traditional handicrafts, the lines are more delicate.
To this day, the printing and dyeing of indigo cloth still follows the techniques left by our ancestors, from pattern design, pattern engraving, pattern painting, pattern copying, dyeing, drying, etc., which is loved by more and more people for its pure natural and pollution-free characteristics. At Hongyuantai Dyeing Workshop, you can see the whole process demonstration of these processes, and you can also take some finished indigo cloth home from the shop in front.
There is also a blue printed cloth raw material workshop opposite the door. Several old ladies are ginning cotton seeds, spinning yarn, and weaving cotton cloth. Watching them all the way, you can understand how blue printed cloth is woven and how the fresh and lovely patterns are printed. Here you can also see more tools for making blue printed cloth in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and earlier times.
For example, the calico board mentioned in the ancient book "Er Yi Shi Lu" is the oldest printing and dyeing tool. The first step in making blue printed cloth is weaving, the second step is printing, the third step is dyeing, the fourth step is drying, and after the four steps are completed, the fifth step is scraping, and a blue printed cloth is produced.
After Yunluo had visited the exhibition hall, he and Xiangchu Chunzi took Husky Lord to the small house next to the exhibition to see the sizing and printing process. This process is a very important step in making blue printed cloth. It is to use the pre-carved pattern plate, lay it flat on the starched white cloth, and evenly brush it with the mixed lime powder and soybean powder.
Why do we need to apply these two kinds of powder? Because lime powder can prevent dyeing, that is, the place where lime powder is applied cannot be dyed. Soybean powder has strong viscosity, which can firmly fix lime powder on the cloth.
As soon as I entered the dyeing workshop, I was hit by a burning smell. Under this large dyeing kiln, rice husks are burned with a dark fire to keep the kiln at a certain temperature. The leaves of the isatis root are used to make dyes, and the roots can cure colds.
After the color is dyed, it is placed in the sun to dry, and then the soybean powder is scraped off with a scraper. The places with the starch are white, and the other places are blue. In this way, the blue printed cloth is made.
This kind of blue printed cloth is pollution-free and very environmentally friendly. Its raw materials are homespun cloth, the dyeing grass comes from the countryside, the craftsmanship comes from the folk, and the colors are simple. The blue background is pure, the white background is simple, and it is delicate and bright, with distinct folk and national characteristics.
Each piece of blue printed cloth exudes naturalness and intimacy. It is because of its simplicity and purity that it has always been unique in folk crafts. In the center of the dyeing kiln, there is a hollow bamboo, which is the chimney. In this dyeing workshop, a piece of red paper is pasted on the pillars and chimneys. This is the auspicious paper, on which the portraits of Mei Ge and Er Xian are painted.

Yan Chenyu and An Chuyu were chatting softly about blue printed cloth, and it seemed that the atmosphere was good, but Yunluo and Xiang Chuchunzi were very smart. The little maid gently touched Yunluo with her shoulder and said coquettishly, "Master, they are fighting each other."
Yun Luo knew it, but he didn't dare to intervene in the confrontation between the two girlfriends. Anyway, there was no showdown, so he wasn't afraid that they would quarrel. Three women, one man and one dog walked out of Hongyuantai Dyeing Factory. As the crowded tourists on East Street slowly moved forward. Red Rat Tangtang was lazy and refused to come out. When Youyuan Tea was about to be sent out, Tangtang ran away.
Many of the windows in Wuzhen's residential buildings are oyster shell windows, which were unique to the Ming and Qing dynasties. These windows are made of oyster shells. These semi-transparent oyster shell windows are fireproof and windproof. The doors of some wealthy families are even glued together with brick powder and glutinous rice juice, which is not only strong but also fireproof. They are still intact after hundreds of years...
There is a Wuqing Water Dragon Association next to Jixianfang, which is actually the fire station of Dongzha. Since most of the buildings in the town are wooden structures, a fire in one building often affects the entire street and village. Therefore, Wuzhen has attached great importance to fire prevention since its construction.
At the top of the ancient building, you can see abrupt brick walls that are higher than the roof and rise along the slope of the house, with no doors or windows at all. It is locally called Guanyindou, which can not only effectively prevent the spread of fire, but also block the wind. It is shaped like the Five Mountains facing the sky, symmetrical on both sides, tall, steep and beautiful. Its graceful curves add to the charm of the ancient town, perfectly integrating function and art.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
In addition to many measures, what is even more rare is that the residents have a forward-looking awareness of combining fire prevention and control. The districts in Wuqing and Qing towns have raised funds and volunteers to establish an organization with clear division of labor, which is the Wuqing Water Dragon Association. The Water Dragon Association is where the water dragons are placed. The division of labor includes dragon head, gong passing, dragon lifting, water carrying, etc. In normal times, they each do their own job. When a disaster occurs, they rush to the dragon station, perform their duties, and go out to fight the fire.
Various water dragons and fire extinguishers are equipped in the dragon house. Today, the gate of the Wuqing Water Dragon Club is closed, and tourists can only see the ancient fire-fighting tools inside from outside the fence.

The houses in the ancient towns of Jiangnan are all built along rivers and streams. On the side facing the water, some wooden or stone pillars are often driven into the riverbed. Beams are placed on top and wooden boards are placed on top. This is called a water pavilion. This is what is called "a house lying on the river".
Wuzhen still retains the poetic layout of small bridges, flowing water and houses. The houses in the town are basically built on the Banghe River and pavilions by the water. Part of the houses extend to the river surface, and the bottom of the house is supported by wooden piles or stone pillars deep in the riverbed. The other half is built on the street, so people call it a water pavilion.
Yan Chenyu tenderly opened a window lattice, and could enjoy the green lake water, thinking that this family used to open the door and do business and entertain guests. This is indeed a unique wonder of Wuzhen. The residents of Wuzhen have lived and played by the water for generations. It can be said that everyone lives by the river, which is a picture of the Jiangnan water village!
An Chuyu stroked the head of the Husky Lord, held Yunluo's hand, and stood beside Yan Chenyu intentionally or unintentionally. Xiang Chuchunzi, on the other hand, was quiet and obedient, not saying a word, but blinking her bright eyes in an interesting way.
The houses by the water, with legs stretched out in the flowing water, looking at the small windows, my thoughts seem to go back to the past. Standing on the stone bridge and looking at the flowing water, a few cruise ships are swaying in the river, with a sound of "Ena", passing through the bridge hole, and then slowly leaving with the flow. A boat girl is holding the oars, swaying, swaying, swaying, and singing a soft boat song, which is somewhat poetic and beautiful. (To be continued...)
