The scenery was beautiful, but trouble came. Water began to fill the diving mask, almost covering the nose, making An Qingju, a novice, very nervous. Some water also entered the breathing tube. Although I followed the coach's instructions and said "two" loudly, some water could not be discharged. When I breathed, it was as uncomfortable as breathing with phlegm in my throat.
At this time, the water under his feet was 2-3 meters deep. An Qingjue tried hard to stand up in the water, but due to his poor swimming skills and the limited buoyancy of the buoyancy bar, he could not keep his balance. He could only lift his head with difficulty, and then buried his head back into the water. He was unable to adjust the mask at all.
At this time, a small boat came over and said to An Qingju, "Are you No. 16? It's your turn to dive." An Qingju glanced at Yunluo and An Qingju's boat, which were still some distance away, and quickly sped up.
The situation became worse. The salty taste of the seawater irritated An Qingju's throat. He wanted to cough but had to control the amplitude, otherwise he would only inhale more seawater. The increased amount of exercise made An Qingju feel an urgent need for air, and he felt a stuffy chest. At this time, An Qingju really thought about the preciousness of life and couldn't let himself die here.
So, by adjusting the speed of advance, he finally reached the side of the boat. He grabbed the ladder and jumped out of the water. He took a deep breath the moment he took off the mask, but he didn't want to inhale the water in the mask into his nose, which made An Qingju dizzy. An Qingju's snorkeling debut ended in such an embarrassing way.
After taking a short break on the deck, the other crew members also boarded the boat one after another. At this time, the crew began to help Yunluo and An Qingju put on diving equipment: tie lead blocks around their waists, put on diving vests and oxygen cylinders on their backs, and then sit at the stern and wait. An Qingju bit the respirator and took a breath. It felt quite strenuous and it took some effort to breathe in the air.
After everyone in the group is fully dressed, they sit at the stern of the boat and start diving one by one. The diving vest has an inflator. The instructor will first open the valve to fill the vest with air, then ask you to bite the respirator and shout "hree". Then you will be pushed into the sea, which feels a bit like throwing a sack into the water to stop a flood.
After diving into the sea, countless bubbles appeared around me, and I floated on the sea surface with the buoyancy of the vest. At this time, the coach swam over and started to deflate the vest, and the real dive began.
After entering the water, the breathing apparatus worked much better than on the shore, and I could breathe very naturally. The coach took An Qingju to a depth of about 1 meter, and let An Qingju hold a rope to keep balance. Then he floated up and brought the other team members down.
The water color starts to darken here. Under the sunlight, you can clearly see the small particles floating in the water. From time to time, some fish swim over to meet you. The only sounds you hear are your regular breathing and the sound of bubbles when you exhale. One thing to remember here is that you should always maintain a normal breathing frequency in the water, otherwise it may cause damage to your lungs.
The waiting time here was a bit long. Later I learned that ld choked on water after entering the water. Adjustments were not enough. Finally, he gave up diving.
The coach led the remaining four people and repeated the previous steps every time they dived one meter: ear pressure relief and confirming the status of the team members. During this process, An Qingju was a little careless and accidentally inhaled a mouthful of sea water. Fortunately, he finally controlled it after coughing a few times, otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.
At about 4 or 5 meters, the coach began to let Yunluo and An Qingju practice the four actions they learned on the boat. The most exciting one was to take the respirator out of the mouth and throw it away, then find it back and put it in the mouth, drain the water, and resume breathing.
After a series of actions, Yunluo and An Qingjue continued to dive along the rope to a depth of 7 meters, and came to a large coral reef. Here, the coach took Yunluo and An Qingjue to the bottom of the sea one by one. Everyone knelt on the sand with their arms around each other to keep their balance. After everyone was together, they began to tour around the coral reef under the guidance of the coach. Here, Yunluo and An Qingjue found a giant clam, the opening of which was so big that they could put their legs in.
The coach indicated that we could touch it, and its shell would close a little when we touched it, which was quite interesting. Later, I checked the information and found that this giant clam can weigh up to 90 kilograms and lay at least one billion eggs each time. There are many fishes gathered around the coral reef, the most famous of which is the clown fish, as well as sea anemones, jellyfish and other creatures.
As the diving time increased, the dry compressed air in the cylinder made An Qingju's mouth dry. Fortunately, Yunluo and An Qingju's diving time was up, and a group of people returned to the surface with the coach. After coming up, they quickly looked for ld and found that ld was snorkeling not far away, so they felt relieved.
After changing clothes, it was time for lunch. Lunch was mainly cold food, including shrimp, beef, ham, salad, bread, etc. Chicken wings were hot dishes. After a hearty meal, Yunluo and An Qingju's boat started and headed towards the second destination, Hastingsreef.
Maybe it was because of the seasickness pills they took, plus the morning's activities, Yunluo and An Qingju were a little sleepy, and they arrived at Hastings Reef half asleep and half awake. After the boat stopped, An Qingju learned from the morning's lesson, picked up a life jacket on the boat, picked up a noodle, and jumped into the sea.
Although the water is 2-3 meters deep, it is still like strolling in the garden. It is true that "people are heroes and life jackets are courage". I strongly recommend friends who are not good at swimming to wear one.
Back to the point, this sea area can really be described as dazzling, the sea water has different shades, and the colorful coral reefs are connected into one piece, blue, red, pink, white, yellow, colorful. The shapes of the corals are even more varied: some are like peacocks spreading their tails, some are like swaying branches, and some are like clusters of flowers.
There were also medium-sized giant clams and black sea cucumbers. An Qingju and LD looked at them while moving forward, sometimes passing close to the top of the corals. The two kept pointing out the beautiful fish they saw to each other. It was really overwhelming and full of surprises. The two swam a big circle around this sea area. But they still felt unsatisfied.
At this time, we heard the boat shouting that the last sightseeing boat was about to leave, so we got on board to continue appreciating the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef in another way.
The bottom of the viewing boat is made of transparent glass. Without the reflection of the water surface, the seabed is in full view. At this time, there is nothing to think about or do except quietly enjoying the beautiful scenery. I really hope time will stand still. The viewing boat took Yunluo and An Qingju around for a long time and finally returned to the Seastar.
After a 30-minute break, Yunluo and An Qingju's boat returned. Take a last look at these beautiful views and keep them firmly in your memory. The return voyage was still smooth, without even a ripple in the boat, and no one on the boat got seasick from beginning to end.
We really have to thank God for being able to swim in the Great Barrier Reef in such perfect weather. And the news we heard after arriving in Sydney made Yunluo and An Qingju sigh at how lucky they were on this trip!
The boat returned to the dock at about 4:30, and the tourists came to the deck. The coach began to issue commemorative certificates for today's diving. At this time, another cruise ship from another company returned. The coach asked everyone, "How was your fun today?" Everyone said.
Then the coach said: "If that's the case, An Qingjue will ask everyone again later, everyone should make the loudest noise possible so that the people on that boat will know how much fun Yunluo and An Qingjue are having." As a result, the boat of Yunluo and An Qingjue cheered like a tide, and the day's journey came to a perfect end.
It was still early. The four of us spent some time by the Cairns swimming pool, and then wandered around the city. I wanted to eat at the Japanese restaurant I missed yesterday, but it was closed on Monday, so I wasted my trip. So I decided to continue eating instant noodles. I happened to visit an Asian food store and chatted with the store manager for a while. I got a certain understanding of the income of Australian people.
In Australia, the minimum wage for an adult is $20 per hour, which is about $3,000 a month. Some Australians only work on weekends because their salary is doubled at this time, so three days of work is enough. The white guy at the cashier in the store works while traveling. His weekly salary is about $800.
The manager here is a young man from Xinjiang. Since Cairns is a remote area, the company offers a higher salary of $1,800 a week, so he came here to work.
I had a dinner of instant noodles at the hotel, which was quite rich, along with the sausage I bought the day before and the salmon I bought today. After dinner, I packed my luggage and went to bed early, as I had to catch an early flight tomorrow.
We got up early today and gathered at the hotel entrance at 4 o'clock. The taxi was on time and it took Yunluo and An Qingju 10 minutes to get to Cairns Airport. The plane took off at 5:20 and we slept all the way to Sydney, landing at 9:15 at Sydney Airport.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, was a wasteland more than 200 years ago. After two centuries of hard development and operation, it has become Australia's largest city, covering an area of 2,400 square kilometers. It is located on the low hills surrounding Jackson Bay and was named after Viscount Sydney, the British Home Secretary at the time.
Sydney, or Greater Sydney, includes Sydney City and 44 nearby small cities, covering an area of more than 12,000 square kilometers and a population of about 4.2 million, accounting for more than one-tenth of the entire Australian population. Sydney plays an even more important role in Australia's national economy, with its GDP accounting for about 30% of Australia's total.
Sydney is located on the southeast coast of Australia. It has a pleasant climate, with neither extreme heat in summer nor cold in winter, plenty of sunshine and abundant rainfall. Sydney's annual precipitation is about 1,200 mm, with an average temperature of 21°C in summer (December to February) and 12°C in winter (June to August).
There are many places to visit in Sydney, including the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, Circular Quay, Macquarie Square, the Harbour (also known as Darling Harbour), museums, art galleries, and national parks of all sizes. However, the most worthwhile thing to visit in Sydney is the beach.
When we left the airport, our friend was already waiting for us. We got in the car and went straight home. Our friend made a pot of millet porridge and a plate of pickled mustard tuber. It was a long-lost delicacy! After a short rest at home, our friend drove Yunluo and An Qingjue to the hotel where he was staying. Yunluo and An Qingjue were waiting for another friend of his friend.
Then we went to Sydney Casino for a buffet lunch. The lunch seemed to be $35 per person, and it was my friend's treat, so we had a good meal.
In the afternoon, the friend drove Yunluo and An Qingju around the city and visited some famous attractions. Yunluo was a little out of shape and groggy, probably because of the fatigue caused by the long days of traveling. I won't write more today, please watch the movie.
The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) was designed by the famous British designer GeeEmcrae and completed in 1898. The building itself is a dome-shaped Roman-style structure. It was originally used as a market and office. The building itself began to collapse in the 1960s and 1970s.
There were plans to demolish this extraordinary historic monument to build a civic center and underground parking. However, careful restoration work has transformed the 7-story building into a historic tourist attraction and a beautiful shopping center, with a glass dome at the center and a 200-meter-long building occupying an entire city block.
There are more than 180 shops, cafes and restaurants in the building, and the fronts of the four main floors are elegant Victorian-style shops. Pierre Cardin once praised QVB as "the most beautiful shopping mall in the world".
When I woke up this morning, my friend said, "You are so lucky." What happened? My friend said that a tropical storm hit Cairns today, the worst in 160 years. The airport has been closed and residents have been evacuated. Is this true? It was sunny and windy when I left the day before yesterday.
Later I checked the information and found that, "Tropical Storm Yasi formed and then quickly developed into a Category 4 tropical storm, reaching a Category 5 (highest level) red tropical giant storm that has never been seen in the history of North Queensland. (To be continued...)
