Chapter 68 Charity Together

Chapter 68 Charity Together

When I returned to campus, life was still boring and studying seemed to have no end.

"Studying is so tiring! The CET-4 and the postgraduate entrance exam are about to overwhelm me." Wang Chenxi complained with a tired look on his face.

"Yeah! It's endless studying every day, it's so boring!" Hu Xin continued to complain.

"We still have to study hard. After all, we are not like Gu Yucheng and Xu Fei, who have been reserved by the police academy in advance and will be transferred to the police academy at the end of the year. We still have to work hard!" Chen Xue encouraged everyone in a firm tone.

"Oh... I feel like my brain is filled with paste lately. I learn one thing and then forget the other. It's so annoying." I shook my head helplessly, my face full of distress.

At this moment, Xu Fei ran over happily: "What are you talking about? It's so lively."

"Studying is so hard, it's hard to describe in words." Hu Xin rolled his eyes.

"You have never suffered hardship! Studying is hard. How many people can't afford to go to school! They can't even afford to eat." Xu Fei patted Hu Xin's shoulder and said.

Listening to Xu Fei's words, I suddenly remembered the children I had seen in impoverished mountainous areas before, so an idea struck me: "When we have time, we can go and support the children in impoverished mountainous areas. I heard that they don't have enough food to eat or warm clothes to wear. We can bring them some warmth and help."

"This is a good idea!" Chen Xue's eyes lit up and she said excitedly.

I immediately took out my cell phone and shared the location of the poor mountain school that Yu Sheng and I visited last time with the small group of six people.

"This location is too remote!" said Wang Chenxi.

"Yes, because it's so remote, their living standards are very poor," I said.

"Then let's set off together this week." Xu Fei said.

"It's okay to go and take a look. Let me see how poor it is!" Hu Xin said shamelessly.

"Okay!" Gu Yucheng just said one simple word.

I took some cash and bought a lot of food and school supplies.

This time, Gu Yucheng drove a large off-road vehicle, put the supplies away and drove towards the mountains.

I saw the group of children again, pulling weeds in the school. Their faces were dirty and their clothes were patched, but their eyes were bright and their faces were filled with innocent smiles.

I saw the little boy who was hungry and gnawing on the table that day working diligently.

I ran over to say hello.

He saw me looking up and smiled. "Sister!"

I walked over and touched his head. "Sister promised to come see you again!"

I then looked at the middle-aged man standing behind the children. "Hello, we're here to donate some supplies to them."

He looked at us and smiled. "Hello, I'm their teacher, Zhang Deshuai! Thank you so much!"

"Hello!" I smiled.

I picked up the boxes of bread I had bought and distributed them to the children in the poor mountainous areas. They all had happy smiles on their faces, like the rising sun.

"You just posted it like that? Aren't you going to take a photo?" Zhang Deshuai asked, with a hint of confusion in his tone.

"It's enough that I can help them, there's no need to take pictures!" I smiled, as gentle as the spring breeze.

Zhang Deshuai looked at us and said with a smile, "Thank you on behalf of the children!" His smile was warm and sincere.

"It's just a small matter!" Chen Xue said, her voice clear and pleasant.

Wang Chenxi also came over to distribute the sausages, milk and books she had bought. Her movements were light and graceful.

Xu Fei patted Hu Xin's shoulder. "How's it going? See? They've had it much harder than you have!" His eyes held a hint of amusement.

Hu Xin glanced at Xu Fei and immediately ran towards Wang Chenxi. "Honey, let me help you!" His voice was filled with enthusiasm.

Gu Yucheng immediately joined in to help the children pull out the weeds. His movements were busy and orderly.

Xu Fei continued to move the supplies in the car.

I took the little boy's hand and asked, "Have you been able to eat enough lately?"

"I can eat my fill recently, thank you, sister!" He smiled, and his smile was as bright and dazzling as the stars in the night sky.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"My name is Nanbei." said the little boy, his voice pleasant to the ears.

I took out 1,000 yuan from my bag and handed it to him, along with my phone number. "Here's yours. Study hard and try to get out of the mountains. And here's my sister's number. If you have any problems in the future, you can contact me and I'll do my best to help you."

"Sister, I can't accept it. It's too much money!" The little boy refused, his eyes full of astonishment, as if he had never seen so much money before.

"Take it. Since I see it, I will help you! Don't let me down. Study hard!" I encouraged him and handed him the money with a gentle tone, but with a hint of firmness.

He smiled and shook his head slightly, saying, "Sister, thank you very much, but my mother once told me that I shouldn't always ask others for money with my hands raised, because that might develop a bad habit. So I still can't accept this money."

"Wow, you really have a great mom!" I responded with a smile.

"Well, how about this, you can take this money and share with your friends how to use it. After all, we're all using it together, and I believe you can manage the money correctly." As I said that, I stuffed the money directly into his hands.

As I stood up and prepared to walk towards Chen Xue, I suddenly heard hurried footsteps behind me. It turned out to be Nanbei catching up with me. He said to me breathlessly, "Sister! Thank you so much!" On his dirty little face, a pair of bright eyes were shining with gratitude.

I stopped, smiled, touched his head, and told him, "Nanbei, you're welcome! I hope you can pass on this kindness and help more people in need in the future."
