It was a new day. I put on a black and white sleeveless midi dress from Dior and followed Yu Sheng, who was wearing a custom-made old-style suit, to the project meeting room.
Yu Sheng took good care of me throughout my pregnancy and kept me by his side.
When I walked into the conference room, I immediately spotted the strikingly beautiful woman in a vibrant red dress and black blazer. Su Yu was the first person to arrive. Though 33, time hadn't left much of a mark on her face. She remained as stunningly beautiful as ever, her makeup exquisite, and her fiery red lips accentuating her allure.
When she noticed my arrival, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. The corners of her mouth rose slightly, and with a faint smile, she greeted Yu Sheng and extended her right hand to shake hands with him in a friendly manner.
Yu Shengyi was not to be outdone and responded quickly, with a bright smile on his face, and responded enthusiastically: "Su Yu, long time no see!"
After the two exchanged pleasantries for a while, Yu Sheng introduced me to her: "This is my wife, Yao Qian."
"Hello, Miss Yao!" Su Yu smiled and greeted politely.
I smiled back in response.
The meeting then got down to business, with both sides discussing key issues like the project's collaborative approach, budget, and construction schedule. Throughout, I sat quietly beside Yu Sheng, listening intently to their conversation.
However, I was keenly aware of Su Yu's frequent glances, sometimes on me, sometimes on Yu Sheng. His eyes revealed a complex mix of emotions, perhaps curiosity, perhaps jealousy, a hint of reluctance, or perhaps some other indescribable emotion.
I secretly wondered, could it be that Su Yu had special feelings for Yu Sheng? Was she the old friend Yu Sheng mentioned?
At this moment, an idea suddenly came to my mind. If Su Yu really has enough charm to attract Yu Sheng back to her, then can I break free from the shackles of this relationship and gain freedom?

At this time, Yu Sheng shouted to the outside: "Lin Jie!"
Lin Jie heard Yu Sheng's call and quickly walked into the meeting room. "Mr. Yu, I'm here!"
Yu Sheng ordered: "Take Yao Qian out to rest for a while and pour her a glass of warm water."
Lin Jie nodded, quickly came over to support me, and carefully led me out of the meeting room. Yu Sheng's eyes followed us until I left the meeting room, then he looked away.
"Continue the meeting!" Yu Sheng said to others, then sat down again and focused on his work.
At this moment, Su Yu, who was sitting next to Yu Sheng, had a glint of jealousy in her eyes. She stared at Yu Sheng closely, thinking about something in her heart.
With Lin Jie's support, I slowly walked towards the bathroom. As soon as I entered the bathroom, I couldn't help but vomit violently, as if I wanted to vomit out all the discomfort.

Lin Jie handed me a cup of warm water and asked me to rinse my mouth.
Then she carefully prepared a lot of fresh fruits and healthy snacks for me, and poured several glasses of water on the table.

"Okay!" I responded.
I was sitting on the comfortable sofa in the conference room, staring at the scenery outside the window, when I suddenly heard my cell phone ringing.
I picked up my phone and saw a WeChat message from Chen Xue: "Qianqian, where have you been? You haven't been to class in a long time?"
My heart sank at this question. How should I answer? Should I tell her I couldn't go to school because I was pregnant? I gritted my teeth and decided to lie.
I replied, "I'm on leave from school to recuperate!" I hoped she would believe this reason.
Chen Xue quickly replied: "Ah, Qianqian, you should have a good rest. We will come to see you when we have time!" Her tone was full of excitement and anticipation.
I smiled, replied, "Okay!" and turned off my phone.

I didn't want to give birth to the baby right now. After all, I didn't want to be tied to Yu Sheng for the rest of my life.
