Chapter 7 Chapter 7 You are good, it is me who is bad.
While eating, Fu Jinxin talked to Han Yinfeng from time to time.
Han Yinfeng knew what she wanted to do, but he didn't get angry and often just laughed it off.
Mu Xi looked at his performance and knew that there was no hope for the two of them. She couldn't bear to watch it any longer and spoke up to help.
Qin Xing'er and Qin Li's attention was focused on Mu Xi.
Seeing the different ways the teacher cared for her brother and her distant cousin, Qin Xing'er knew that her brother's love for her was doomed to end in vain.
Qin Li felt sad in his heart, but he didn't want to affect others. The more he suppressed his feelings, the sadder he became.
After finishing the meal with mixed feelings, Qin Xing'er, Qin Li and Fu Jinxin were reluctant to leave, but each had their own reasons that they could not express.
During the meal, Mu Xi had already praised Qin Li several times, saying that his cooking skills had improved, and she repeated it now. Qin Li felt a surge of sourness in his heart, feeling both happy and sad.
"As long as Madam Mu likes it...that's enough."
Mu Xi smiled at him and said no more. Han Yinfeng glanced at each of them, then looked away.
Before leaving, Qin Li mustered up his last bit of courage and said he wanted to talk to Mu Xi alone. Mu Xi agreed and walked aside with him.
Qin Xing'er pretended not to notice but actually looked at them from time to time with great concern.
Han Yinfeng put away his things and came out, only to find Mu Xi and Qin Li standing together and talking in private, making it difficult to get close to them.
Fu Jinxin happened to be pestering him to talk, and he listened absent-mindedly, but in fact all his attention was on the other two people.
"Madam Mu, I probably won't be able to come to see you often in the future." Qin Li said this with difficulty, looking a little pitiful. "You must take good care of your injuries. If you need any physical work, ask my sister to help."
Mu Xi smiled. She was extremely lazy and felt tired even if she moved a little more. How could there be so much physical work?
But she still said, "Okay," and thanked him in advance.
Qin Li turned his head to look at Han Yinfeng, and saw that he was listening to Fu Jinxin. He blinked and looked at Mu Xi again hesitantly.
"Madam Mu and I are not meant to be together. You don't want to delay me, I know that in my heart. If you were a bad person, you would have accepted me since I'm so self-deprecating. I'm stupid, usually I just feel sad. It was only after my sister explained everything to me that I finally understood." He paused, then said, "Madam Mu, I'm unlucky. I don't blame you, and you don't have to mind this matter. Let's just pretend... nothing happened."
Mu Xi looked at him for a while and said softly, "You are very good, it's me who is not good."
Han Yinfeng raised his eyebrows slightly, Qin Li frowned, his eyes misty, "Madam Mu, please stop coaxing me."
"I'm not lying. You're really good. I know your parents favor their daughters and haven't been very kind to you. You've suffered a lot since childhood. I also know that your initial interest in me was instigated by them. But your parents don't know how good you are, nor do they know that I'm not worthy of you."
Qin Li's eyes were filled with tears. "No, it was...at first...but then it was me..."
"This matter is complicated and hard to explain. We are still friends now, so there is no need to explain it so clearly."
Mu Xi said, "I'm telling you all this because I want you to see yourself clearly. You have a good personality and can tolerate someone as boring as me. You cook delicious food, which is universally acknowledged. You're always busy and your diligence puts me to shame. You even want to live with me. This determination to endure hardship is not something that ordinary people can have..."
Qin Li was amused by her words, and Mu Xi also smiled. "And now, you are willing to tell me this. I know how much courage it takes, and you are not only courageous, but also free and easy. Isn't that good?"
"So... this is how Madam Mu sees me."
Not far away, Fu Jinxin realized that Han Yinfeng was not listening to her at all, so she called out to him, "Mr. Han?"
Han Yinfeng turned to look at her and curled the corners of his lips slightly.
Qin Li smiled and shook his head as if relieved, "How can I be as good as what Madam Mu said?"
"Of course I do, and you have a wonderful sister. I remember you once told me that Xing'er knew how to protect her brother even when she was little, and that touched you deeply. I also want to tell you today that if you can find a good wife soon, we won't have much time to spend together. If we can't find a suitable partner right away, don't worry. If you're ever in trouble, even if it's your mother or father, you can come to me if you need my help."
Qin Li was deeply moved. If it was really as she said, this would be the best ending besides not being able to grow old with her.
Mu Xi said, "Maybe I can't help you much, but if you need me, I will do my best."
Qin Li's depression was mostly relieved.
He knew that Mu Xi had given a completely impossible answer to the possibility of them being together, but at the same time, he suddenly thought clearly -
Even if his parents were anxious to arrange a marriage for him, he didn't have to follow their wishes and find a wife for himself immediately.
Just like Mu Xi said, besides A Mei standing on his side, there is also someone who promised to support him.
Qin Li's knot in his heart was untied, but Fu Jinxin was still trying to continue the awkward conversation.
She was already thinking about giving up. She thought, "As expected, this is the teacher's relative, even more stubborn than the teacher. It seems like he really doesn't like her anymore." So, forget it...
"Why!"
When Fu Jinxin was bored and daydreaming, she caught a glimpse of a piece of hemp rope hanging from the wall at the edge of the yard. She felt itchy and pulled it.
I don’t know how it got involved, but the abandoned stone mill that was originally piled on various sundries in the corner suddenly fell down and hit Han Yinfeng directly.
Fu Jinxin dodged subconsciously. Han Yinfeng raised his hand to block, but was pushed back half a step by gravity. Suddenly he realized that something was wrong. He was playing a weak man, so how could he have so much strength?
He quickly analyzed the situation and made a choice, intending to make his actions appear subconscious, but his lack of strength led to failure.
He was just injured by something falling on him, but Mu Xi might feel sorry for him because of this...
But what Han Yinfeng didn't expect was that when he let go, someone helped him hold on for a moment.
When Mu Xi saw them, she had just finished talking with Qin Li and was walking towards them.
She rushed over so fast that she herself couldn't understand how fast she moved. Then, she actually bore the weight of the millstone. While feeling puzzled, she felt a sharp pain in her arm.
Mu Xi cursed in her heart. Her dominant hand was injured, which was her right hand. Now she was using her right hand to save people.
She pushed Han Yinfeng away with her left hand and knocked down the culprit Fu Jinxin. When Mu Xi withdrew her hand, the big thing did not hurt them, but only made her more injured.
"My wife!"
"teacher!"
The other four people present all ran towards Mu Xi. Mu Xi's face was pale with pain, his brows were frowned, his arms were shaking, and he stood stiffly in place.
Qin Xing'er saw it clearly and said she would take Mu Xi to the town to see a doctor.
Mu Xi came to her senses and thought about the doctor's level of bone setting, so she decided to give up.
She said, "It's okay, I just used some skillful force, no real injuries."
Han Yinfeng pursed his lips and said, "Madam Qin is right, you look very bad."
Mu Xi still shook her head and said, "I was scared."
It was because of Mu Xi's words that Qin Li temporarily focused his attention on Han Yinfeng.
Is it because he saw that Young Master Han might be injured that he was scared and his face turned pale and his body trembled?
Fu Jinxin knew that all this was because of her clumsy hands, so she kept apologizing. Her interest in Han Yinfeng waned, and she kept saying that she would take Mu Xi to see a doctor.
"Need not."
Mu Xi continued to refuse, and her complexion was already recovering. Seeing how confident she was, others began to believe her casual statement more and more, even though it sounded unreliable.
The real pain has not yet come.
Mu Xi wondered whether this time would be at night or tomorrow morning, so she could make some preparations in advance, like stuffing a towel in her mouth or something.
After this little episode, Mu Xi still insisted on seeing the guests off. When she left, to be on the safe side, she asked the two students to help her take one more day off.
After the greetings, Han Yinfeng had prepared some water and offered to check her arm and rebandage it. Mu Xi didn't refuse, thanked him, and sat down.
Han Yinfeng was close at the time and clearly heard a short, subtle sound.
When he removed the gauze and the bamboo board, Han Yinfeng looked at Mu Xi's red and swollen arm, and confirmed again that he had heard correctly. She was injured for the second time, in the same arm, in the same position.
"In my opinion, we should go see a doctor."
Han Yinfeng could cure injuries of this degree, but in Mu Xi's opinion, he did not have such skills and could only give basic advice.
"No need." Mu Xi looked at her arm and was worried. Just the thought of going through that kind of severe pain again made her start to feel phantom pain.
"Why are you so stubborn, ma'am?" Han Yinfeng said, "Even if you're not injured again, wouldn't it be reassuring to let the doctor take another look?"
Han Yinfeng resisted the urge to help her set her bones, but Mu Xi was determined and said that the doctors in the town were not very skilled.
"I have strong healing abilities, it's okay."
As long as I can get through tomorrow, it should be fine.
Han Yinfeng was thinking about the possibility of knocking her out at night and setting her bones.
He thought, after all, Mu Xi was injured again in order to save him.
But he suddenly remembered that in his original plan, he had wanted to wait for Mu Xi to become infatuated with him, and then he would kill her and destroy the body after getting what he wanted.
Now you actually want to heal her injuries yourself?
But... she saved herself.
Again.
This time was different from the last time. This time she subconsciously rushed over to save him. Han Yinfeng was silent for a while and asked how that thing fell.
Mu Xi looked at him and said, "Because of you."
Han Yinfeng looked bewildered as he listened to Mu Xi talk about what happened after he left five years ago.
She was worried that there would be more bad guys coming, so she set a trap and then forgot about it.
