Narita International Airport
Su Xun pulled a small suitcase and walked out of the airport.
The first thing that caught her eye was the trees covered in snow in the distance. A cold wind blew, and Su Xun tightened the dark scarf around her neck.
Her classes for this semester have ended, and she's just waiting for the exams in January. As for Guangying Media, she stayed up several nights to finish the last bit of the storyline, and now she's just waiting for the final review.
She was rushing to finish her school affairs because she had planned to come to Japan during the last week of December.
I've missed him quite a bit since I haven't seen him for half a year.
However, she didn't tell Pei Ke about coming here; she only confirmed his itinerary for the next few days. It turned out there were no special arrangements, which made things easy for Su Xun to plan.
Although she didn't understand Japanese, her English was decent, and with her fluent spoken English, she managed to find Pei Ke's apartment without any problems.
However, this time she personally experienced how frustrating it is for Japanese people to speak English. When asking for directions, she could practically see a black question mark spinning around their heads.
Standing beneath a row of apartments, I watched as a light snow began to fall, a hazy, gentle drizzle.
Su Xun looked around, a smile playing on her lips. Now she was only separated from him by the inside and outside of the building, and she was already imagining the scene of their meeting in a moment.
It was snowing again outside the window. Pei Ke pulled the curtains open a little, letting in all the light. Looking down from the window, all he could see was a vast expanse of white.
He leaned forward slightly and stretched out his hand. Occasionally, a cold wind would pass through his fingers. Su Xun always liked to open his hand when it snowed, palm up, and let the snow fall on his skin, turning into a pool of glistening water stains.
Suddenly, a red shadow appeared before my eyes. Under the withered branches was a figure dressed in red, but I couldn't see it clearly.
A slight warmth rose in my heart, and my breath caught in my throat. Was it her?
The image of that person unconsciously resurfaced in his mind, and he sighed silently.
How could she possibly be here? Perhaps the whiteness of the snow is too dazzling, causing her to hallucinate.
He sat back down on the carpet cushions, closed his notebook, which contained photos of the Tokyo snowscape he had taken the previous afternoon, and then slowly began editing them.
He felt a little drowsy after sitting all morning, so he rubbed his forehead.
The cell phone on the low table was buzzing, and the caller ID displayed two words that seemed to convey immense anticipation.
"Hmm." He took the phone, his voice a little hoarse from not speaking all morning.
A faint electrical sound came through the earpiece and entered my ear.
"Want to come out and have some fun?"
"You..." A thought flashed through his mind, and he quickly walked to the window. Looking down, a splash of red stood out so conspicuously in the white expanse, like a red plum blossom in the snow.
"I don't know which floor you live on." Su Xun looked at the person coming out of the stairwell and smiled.
The person opposite looked flustered and was breathing unsteadily; they had come running down. "Why did you suddenly come?"
People who should have been on a continent across the sea suddenly appeared before him, laughing and talking, like spirits born from the snow.
“Otherwise, how could it be considered a surprise?” Su Xun smiled. “Besides, I asked you so obviously yesterday, but you didn’t even notice.”
Yesterday, Su Xun mentioned his plans for the Christmas holidays and specifically asked if he would be home. Although she was suspicious, she never imagined that he would travel all the way to another country to find him.
At this moment, waves of joy welled up inside me, quickly filling my entire being.
"You said you didn't have any plans for the next few days, so I came to take you out to have some fun." Pei Ke can be really boring sometimes, so she had already prepared a fun itinerary before she came.
