In a drowsy state, I heard the door open twice. The person sleeping soundly on the bed sat up and rubbed their eyes.
"Senior, you came back so late last night, and you got up so early today."
Pei Ke was clearly in a good mood. She happily carried the breakfast that Su Xun had just brought and sat down on the sofa next to her. She glanced at the shirtless boy on the bed and frowned almost imperceptibly. "Hmm."
This person sleeps without clothes on; thankfully, Su Xun didn't see it earlier.
Then the look in his eyes gradually turned disdainful.
"Senior, what smells so good?" The person was clearly unaware that he had been labeled an "exhibitionist" in someone's mind. At this moment, his eyes were completely attracted by the fragrance, and he came over without even putting on his shoes, stepping directly onto the carpet.
"I saw this food when I was looking up recipes, and I heard it's really delicious."
Seeing this person walking around without even wearing shoes, Pei Ke's disdain deepened. "You don't get any."
"But I didn't hear you leave just now, so who brought it over?"
"It was a gift from someone I like." A faint smile finally appeared in his eyes when he mentioned this.
"Holy crap, senior, I've never heard of you having a girlfriend?"
"It was there when you were sleeping last night." After saying that, she gave him a look that said, "You wouldn't understand."
"So you've agreed to be with Senior Nuoyu?" Everyone in the photography club knew, but no one spoke of it.
“It’s not her.” He urged, “Get up and go wash up quickly, then show me what you’ve accomplished these past two days.”
Upon hearing the word "achievements," those still engrossed in gossip quickly slipped into the bathroom. Compared to Pei Ke, the photos he had taken over the past two days were simply not presentable.
Around 1 p.m., everyone gathered in the open space outside the scenic area to prepare to return to school.
The scenery outside was changing, but the people inside the bus were all uninterested. After playing for several days, almost everyone was tired and couldn't stand the swaying of the bus. They squinted their eyes in twos and threes.
Su Xun received a notification in the group that all members of the tourism association were to gather in one car for a short meeting. So she fought off her sleepiness and listened as the president stood at the front of the car explaining the arrangements and everyone's tasks.
After returning, she had to organize the materials from the past few days, write articles, post WeChat articles, and each department also had to submit an activity summary.
Since the other members of the publicity department were absent, these tasks naturally fell to her and Song Xueying. The online promotional materials needed to be released within the next two days, so she rushed back to her dormitory as soon as she returned to school to write the drafts and then submitted them to the department head for review.
By the time Su Xun finished writing the WeChat post and the event summary, the National Day holiday was coming to an end. She had been working non-stop for the past few days, and the manuscripts she sent out had been rejected several times. She simply didn't have time to deal with anything else.
On the last day of the holiday, she finally finished her club activities and slept until noon. She glanced at the mountain of homework piled up beside her and sighed silently.
I stood up, stretched, stuffed all the books into my bag, bought some snacks, and headed to the library.
With fewer people at school during the holidays, the library was also much emptier, and Su Xun easily found a well-lit empty seat and sat down.
Her phone screen lit up for a moment, and she opened it to look at the WeChat account she had added just a few days ago.
It's an emoji of a big orange cat with the words "Where are you?" on its head.
Su Xun couldn't help but smile. Since returning to school, she had been busy completing her missions, and the two of them hadn't seen each other yet.
She typed a few words and sent them: "I'm at the library now, doing my homework."
"I've come to find you."
"good."
She then sent her floor number and waited for someone to come over.
In the dormitory
Pei Ke stared at the contents of his phone screen, his smile growing wider. He then put down his phone and walked out the door.
"Pei Ke, where are you going?" Xiang Yang put down his textbook and looked up to ask when he saw his roommate about to leave.
"Let's go to the library."
Xiang Yang noticed the smile on Pei Ke's face and became interested. "You seem so happy. Did you make an appointment with someone, and it's a girl, right?"
"Yes, it's Su Xun." His smile widened, and he answered Xiang Yang's question in a very good mood.
"So fast!" Xiang Yang almost dropped the pen he was twirling in his hand. "Aren't you going to maintain your composure?"
He smiled and raised his eyebrows as he spoke.
"When did I ever act reserved?" Pei Ke turned around in confusion.
"The last time I saw Su Xun, you practically had the word 'reserved' written all over your face. Why do you, a man, live like a girl confined to her chambers all the time?" Xiang Yang said dismissively.
"Then you're mistaken." He frowned. He had clearly been very proactive; he had even approached her earlier.
Thinking about this, I felt a pang of sadness. If he didn't go looking for her, would she not come looking for him either?
He tightened his grip on his phone and strode out.
"Hey, you two, you've made it so easy, you have to thank me properly and treat me to dinner later," Xiang Yang called out from behind, but the only response was the sound of a door slamming shut.
Xiang Yang tapped his fingers on the table, staring at the doorway, feeling smug.
Their relationship progressed so quickly, and he definitely deserves a lot of credit for it. Not to mention how many explanations he gave to Su Xun when Pei Ke abandoned her last time, he also occasionally revealed some of Pei Ke's preferences to Su Xun afterward.
He's determined to have Xiang Yang eat at this family dinner!
Pei Ke finished his homework before the holiday. When he went to the library, he first went to the third-floor reading room to find two books before going up to the fourth floor to find Su Xun.
