Chapter Eight: A New Beginning

Next, the students took turns going up to introduce themselves.

Su Xun was a little nervous in her seat. She had never been good at speaking or expressing herself on stage. Whenever she was stared at by many people, she would feel helpless and wish she could find a hole to crawl into.

I remember in fourth grade, during our Chinese class, we read the article "The Song of the Four Seasons." The teacher asked four students to come up and play the roles of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. When the teacher was calling on students, Su Xun kept her head down, afraid of being called on. Unfortunately, she was the first one called on. She played the role of Spring and read that passage aloud.

She read a beautiful, vibrant passage with absolutely no intonation, though she had tried her best. In the end, when the classmates voted on who best represented their respective characters, Su Xun unsurprisingly lost.

"My name is Song Lisha. I love dancing, and my dream is to become a dancer. I hope to become good friends with everyone in the days to come."

When Su Xun came to his senses, a very pretty girl was introducing herself. Her big almond-shaped eyes blinked, and she was wearing a light blue dress. The hem of the dress swayed slightly with her body, and she looked absolutely beautiful.

What's most captivating is her inner and outer confidence, making her the center of attention and impossible to ignore.

Su Xun couldn't help but feel a little inferior. She also wanted to stand on the stage and confidently express her thoughts, letting everyone know that she also wanted to shine.

Soon it will be Su Xun's turn.

"Hello everyone, I'm Su Xun." As soon as he finished speaking, Su Xun quickly lowered his head, his face turning bright red, as if he were completely blushing.

The students below were all waiting for what was to come. Su Xun fidgeted with the hem of his clothes and said, "I... I usually like to read books and such. I'm very happy to meet everyone."

After saying that, Su Xun also quickly walked back to his seat, lowered his head, and his face turned even redder.

Su Xun wasn't paying attention to the introductions from the students behind her. Even when Pu Xiaochuan went up and made a mistake by mispronouncing her name, causing everyone to laugh, she only glanced up at him. She kept replaying her behavior in her mind, feeling increasingly embarrassed.

When will I be able to handle these situations with ease?

After the self-introductions, Teacher Liu began the safety education lesson.

Just as they were getting into the conversation, the classroom door was pushed open, and a tall, thin boy wearing a T-shirt stood in the doorway.

Even a simple T-shirt was meticulously arranged by him.

Perhaps because she had run over, her hair was a little messy in front of her forehead.

"Report, I'm sorry I'm late."

When Ms. Liu saw this student, her expression immediately became very gentle and kind, and she called him in.

"Classmates, let me explain. This is also a student in our class, but he couldn't come to register for the past two days due to health reasons, and he's late today as well. Come on, let him introduce himself to everyone." After briefly explaining the situation to the students, Teacher Liu turned to the person next to her.

"Hello, I am Pei Ke. 'Pei' is the 'Pei' in 'Feiyi' and 'Ke' is the 'Ke' in 'Jing Ke'."

Pei Ke briefly stated his name and then remained silent.

Su Xun saw him the moment he pushed open the door, and for a moment she couldn't quite explain what she was thinking.

Perhaps it was joy, especially when the teacher pointed to the empty seat next to Pei Ke and asked her to sit down.

"Hello, deskmate," Pei Ke said softly as she sat down, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
