Pei Ke was very upset last night. He knew that this was not a big deal, and Su Xun had already explained the reason to him, but he just couldn't help being angry.
After getting back, I went to bed early and tossed and turned for most of the night. Then I slept until after ten o'clock today.
Monday's classes had already ended last week. Looking at his dormitory room where he was all alone, he slowly got up, washed up, and then went out to eat a meal that he couldn't quite classify as breakfast or lunch.
I was reading in my dorm for a while when Xiang Yang called and asked me to go out and play tennis.
He agreed without thinking, but he was still very agitated. He was just being stubborn with himself, which made him even angrier.
It's good to go out and exercise.
He checked his phone and, sure enough, Su Xun hadn't contacted him.
A sense of loss and grievance welled up in his heart for no reason. In fact, ever since he got together with Su Xun, he had been uneasy, always feeling that she did not trust him that much.
Thinking too much is not good, so he stopped his wild thoughts, changed his clothes, put on a coat, picked up the tennis racket in the corner, and went out.
Along the way, he always felt that the people passing by looked at him strangely, with pity and a hint of regret in their eyes, but mostly they were scrutinizing him.
It sent a chill down his spine; why were all these people secretly watching him?
He mentally reviewed his outfit; it wasn't much different from usual, so there was no problem.
Did they realize that I was actually wearing sportswear under my coat?
Thinking about it, he pulled his collar up and wrapped himself up tightly.
It rained last night, and there was still water on the outdoor tennis courts. He walked straight to the gymnasium.
There is a small tennis court inside the stadium, which is rarely used.
Xiang Yang was already playing by himself. Tennis balls kept popping out of the machine on the wall, and he stood not far away and hit them one by one. When he noticed someone coming in, he put down his racket, walked over, and wiped the sweat off his face with a towel.
"You're finally here. I asked the others, but they all refused to come, saying they wanted to cram for their final exams." He patted Pei Ke on the shoulder. "You're the most reliable one."
"Your hands are sweaty," Pei Ke said casually, glancing at the sweaty hands on his shoulder.
"Oh, I forgot you don't like sweat." He quickly put his hand down, wiped his face a couple of times on the towel he had just used, then casually sat down on the ground and picked up his phone.
I don't know what he saw, but his whole face was scrunched up from trying to suppress a laugh, and his hand holding the phone was shaking uncontrollably.
Pei Ke glanced at Xiang Yang's strange state and couldn't help but ask, "What are you looking at?"
"The forum." Xiang Yang tapped a few times with trembling fingers, without even looking up.
"Um?"
"You don't know about this yet, do you?" After saying that, he thought about it and felt that this was very likely.
She sat up abruptly, saying, "You really didn't know?"
"What do I need to know?" Pei Ke said, sounding impatient.
We've known each other for a year, and this person always says things he doesn't understand.
"See for yourself."
Xiang Yang shoved the phone into Pei Ke's hand and finally couldn't help but burst into laughter, the sound echoing throughout the enclosed tennis court.
With a furrowed brow, he browsed through all the content on the screen.
What kind of nonsense is this?
On the screen was a table listing his and another man called "Handsome Uncle" and their various analytical data, comparing them in terms of appearance, age, and career. The last item was marked in pink: "Does he pamper his girlfriend?"
Upon seeing this, his face turned completely black.
Xiang Yang gloated and showed him the poll again.
Pei Ke's face darkened further after seeing the vote count, his forehead throbbing. "What is all this stuff?"
Seeing that Pei Ke was getting angry, Xiang Yang quickly took his phone back from the man, fearing that the man might smash it if he couldn't control himself.
"Everyone's just bored, so they dragged you out and compared you to Su Xun, that rumored sugar daddy."
"What sugar daddy?" Pei Ke keenly grasped this key word, staring at Xiang Yang with an air of "You're not leaving until you explain yourself clearly today."
Xiang Yang looked at the serious face in front of him, laughed a few times, and then told him the whole story, and even dug out that post.
Finally, feeling the air pressure around him getting lower and lower, he added, "But I believe the young lady would never do such a thing."
He didn't believe it, so when he saw it last night, he just thought it was a joke and didn't pay any more attention to it. It wasn't until he opened the forum again just now that he found out that things had actually turned out this way.
"I'm leaving now."
After hearing the whole story, Pei Ke remained expressionless, uttered those words, and strode away from the stadium.
The cold wind of late December hit his face, calming him for a moment. He took out his phone from his coat pocket, skillfully dialed Su Xun's number, and made the call.
"Pei Ke, what's wrong?" Su Xun put down the English CET-4 practice test in his hand and went to the balcony before pressing the answer button.
There was no sound from the other side, only the occasional sound of long, steady breathing, like the sound of sea breeze passing over a calm sea.
"Are you still there?" she asked again.
"Is it true that if I don't ask, you won't tell me things on your own initiative?" The voice on the other end was cold and devoid of warmth, much like the cold wind blowing through her sweater on the balcony.
"You already know? These are all fake, and I'm already dealing with them." Su Xun sensed the anger on the other end of the phone.
